If you are really that olive skinned you must have more than just Polish in you.
I have several members of my family that tan easily and I myself do,though I have to be very careful as I burn easily too.

German surnames in Poland belonged to ethnic Gemans and Polish surnames in Germany belonged to to ethnic Poles.
It really doesn't matter how far back it goes.

The Poles with German surnames were mainly ethnic Germans that lived in German areas that is now Poland.
The Germans with Polish surnames were mainly ethnic Poles that moved to Germany.
Both had ethnicity.

Most of my family are blue eyed and either fair haired or blond.
Some brown eyes and brown hair too.
I think Poles look at redheads as something unusual.
I have a red haired friend with freckles and pale skin called Kucharski.

I can hear a difference between Poles and Czechs,but not between Poles and Slovaks....they have the same accent when talking English.
One of the most pronounced is their inability to pronounce the leter G in words ending in it.
It always comes out as a K.
As in "Good Mornink".
