Off-Topic / Russophiles can no longer defend their beloved Russians. [84]

As we West Europeans have learnt to our cost...diversity doesn't often work.....we don't need to add Russian diversity into our mix.....no,The Russians have shot themselves in the foot with their stupidity.....nobody will trust them now....

The point is lost on you.....as I said, insufficient knowledge......I am not defending The BBC,I know many people who work there and can tell you that they have a liberal left wing bias......but even with that, they cannot ignore the sheer weight of evidence against Russia.....please stop burying your sorry Slav Serbian head in the sand man!

You do not posess enough knowledge.
The BBC if anything, has a slightly left wing bias, but they are reporting news from across the world that condemns Russia.....too much evidence that even their left wing liberal stance can no longer ignore.

No,the last thing Poland and the rest of Central Europe needs is closer ties to The Russian Mafia State.....

I have been on here long enough for you to know that puerile, childish and obscene insults wash over me completely.....in fact, all insults do....you must try harder and actually form an argument for your case, whatever that may be,but of course, you can't.....the evidence is now overwhelming.....Russians are only friends for Russians....and even then, only the ones that support their gangster state....be a good Slav and give up when you know you have lost....

I'm sure some idiots will post on here and claim Russia's innocence.
But this is not news.....it is common knowledge, but Russia is pushing so hard that various governments have decided to call them out.
The information is extremely detailed and shows Russia's guilt beyond doubt....more interestingly it shows
their total incompetence. ...laughable really...some people on here have claimed that Poland should forge stronger links with our "Russian Slav Brothers",firstly, most Russians are not Slavs.Secondly, why would Poland want to forge closer links to a corrupt, gangster government that has always mistreated Poles?Thirdly, why would Poland want closer links to a failing economy that has a leader who is rapidly losing support and respect in his own country. And lastly, why would Poland want closer ties to a state that has such a useless, incompetent, idiotic and frankly stupid secret service???

Life / Differences between Irish, British, Polish, American and other nations culture, tradition, music - loose talk [241]

CCR were brilliant and still very much loved in NL.
If any of you ever listen to the Dutch Pirate Radio stations on around 185 metres.....1620 Khz,you wil hear plenty of CCR songs.

Great thread.....been moved again.....but great anyway.....yeah,Jeff Beck is better than Hendrix,I know that sounds like blasphemy, but he is.....and Zakk Wylde is serious competition...

It was a close run thing Doug.....Dad only allowed me to go because my friends Dad drove us there and picked us up....in 1970 Grand Funk Railroad did a free concert in Hyde Park and Dad wouldn't let me go.....the second gig I went to was also at the Royal Albert hall in 1971 and was Black Sabbath.....at their peak.....that was a real eye opener....I think Wild Turkey were supporting and my third gig was at The Rainbow....Humble Pie....

The first gig I ever went to was when I was about 14,in 1971 at The Royal Albert Hall,Deep Purple had released In Rock the previous year and so played most of that plus some songs from their new album,Fireball....quite an event for a young kid's first gig.Support band were Hard Stuff I think.

Many years later I saw the Coverdale/Hughes line up at Wembley and they were truly awful.....but I've seen both Trapeze and Whitesnake and they were superb.I'm a bit too young for the early Purple but I did like some of the songs mentioned but Hush was my favourite.

History / Do Polish people in general dislike Russia or Germany more? [369]

But since Kievan Rus was European state

In your earlier post you complained that those Russian attrocities were commited over 80 years ago and said"How long people can live obsessed with the past?" and now you want to take us even further back!

Your hypocrisy is laughable!

But it happened more than 80 years ago.

Yes,but Russian control of Poland only ended less than 30 years ago.......and I don't buy the Asian argument,Russia is only 23% in Europe, the rest is in Asia.

I think we have more in common than we realize sometimes?

Seems that way......besides our various Polish connections some of us share similar musical tastes......maybe we should concentrate less on this Aussie/Brit/Yank thing and more on what we have in common.

Neil

Yeah, still love all those guys too and The Butterfield Blues Band.I also love a live album Mike Bloomfield did with Al Kooper called "The Supersession".

How about what we here call "Southern Rock"?Allman Bros,Lynyrd Skynyrd,The Outlaws,38 Special,Molly Hatchet,Blackfoot etc?

We must be of similar age as I agree with all you said.
Buddy Guy is just amazing..........Hendrix and SRV are right up there amongst the greatest ever.
Gary Moore had it( from Atch's neck of the woods of course!)
I loved early Santana but he can get a bit repetitive.....
Of the newer guys, yeah Bonamassa is great and I love Warren Haynes too.
Though not really a Blues guitarist I think Zakk Wylde is incredible too.
Agree on AC/DC too,boring,repetitious stuff.........
