Love / Are the Polish the most suspicious people in Europe? [73]

is my neighbour/friend/workmate/family member a true Pole or an agent working for a foreign power?

This is true.
My own family were betrayed by a communist headmaster of a local school and sent to Siberia for their patriotism.
But as you say, it goes back way before communism.
Poles are suspicious of many things and hypochondriacs too!

Genealogy / Any Pole with predominant Black or African ancestry? [26]

but the one I saw was pure African black. And looked very intelligent. We need more Poles like that

You will get your wish if and when Polish girls currently in England return to Poland.
So many of them are dating or have married Indian or Pakistani men.
The girls seem more open minded than the boys, boys tend to date or marry Polish or other white European girls.

Study / Various education and school issues in Poland. Opinions, stories, controversies. [1006]

It is a serious safety risk Dirk, really. If for example, somebody set off the fire alarm as a joke

Sorry, but this is just pathetic PC, over protective nonsense.
It is why children can no longer take risks in anything they do and why they will be ill prepared if something nasty ever happens.

When I was a kid, we climbed trees, built wooden go karts and sledges and raced them down hills.Did loads of dangerous things.
Did we get hurt?
Yeah, but we learnt lessons that kids today won't learn because they are "protected" in cotton wool.
And no, us kids never wore Hi Viz jackets to protect us,
Thankfully they had not even been invented yet...

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

I don't like potatoes at all, but that particular combination is heaven :)

I have to say that I am not a potato head either, they are OK but I can take them or leave them.
But to say that you don't like potatoes at all does seem a bit strange to me.
Surely, you don't actually hate them?

As for Kaprys, she advised doing it in jars and yes

My Mum did it in jars too, she used to pickle and dry mushrooms in jars as well.
Ogorki too, grown in the garden.
I learnt a lot from her about cooking, but never paid too much attention to pickling and drying..... seemed a bit too technical and had to be super clean too.

Food / What do non-Poles think about eating the following Polish foods? [1450]

I am old but I still have all my teeth intact

Me too, but the only raw veg I like, besides lettuce, tomatoes, onions, spring onions and cucumber, is celery and radishes.
Both with plenty of salt.
Brown rice is disgusting.
I love Coquille St Jaques.

Doug got me. hahahahahaha

Yeah, we love our football here, or soccer as you guys call it.
In Britain some people are beginning to get into American Football and Basketball has always had a niche audience, it was one of my favourite sports at school.

But Baseball is a no no.....we see that as too similar to Rounders...... a girls game.

Yeah, the high scoring system is the cause of that.

USA, Canada / Polack/American Polonia/Plastic Pole "culture" [568]

Hey I wound appreciate if you elaborate a tad bit more and explained in detail what you have in mind

Poles tend to be consevative and intolerant of foreigners and foreign culture.
I don't have a problem with that.
Do you?

Your list would suggest that the persons with such characteristics are bad people.

Not at all.
Quite the opposite.

Life / Why Do You Love Poland? [907]

By nationality law, yes, a PolAm is considered to be Polish

Really?
I am of pure Polish descent and yet I am regarded as British.
Do Pole Ams really have more rights than Anglo Poles?

back to the topic everyone, please
