Travel / Poland in photo riddles - part 3 [818]

Is that part of a candle holder/grave lantern - znicze?

The date is All Saint's Day so you're going to the cemetery to light the candle/lantern? Not sure about the foil though or maybe the whole guess is wrong.

The setting I am asking about is the one seen in the photo. Where, when and why???

Were you at a cemetery for All Saints/All Soul's Day and taking a picture of all the candles at night?

that shows a real event.

I know. There are real lights there and you are adjusting camera settings.

what setting is it?

What I had in mind was exposure settings, longer shutter speeds and wider aperture to capture light trails.

Travel / About cars, electric and combustion in Poland. [162]

I have second Vauxhall (British Opel) and they aren't bad at all.

My Vauxhall Tigra was one of the most reliable cars I had.

Electric cars will never catch on.

Not in the UK. Just on a practical level there simply won't ever be enough charging stations available. At home charging for EV's would be a joke with so many houses converted to flats etc with no driveways and only on street parking.

Electric prices continue to soar, EV's are destroying the roads because they're so heavy and if something goes wrong with them you will need deep pockets to get them fixed.

don't know much about hydrogen technologies

There some on the roads in California:

Ford Probe 2

Nice looking car. Had to google as hadn't heard of it before.

today this car would be worth quite a lot of money.

Probably yes. Same with the Frog-Eye Sprite I had.

USA, Canada / Polish wife for Chicago Pole - TV show [8]

what do you think about such shows?

I remember switching channels and seeing a clip of the UK version of the farmer wants a wife or love in the countryside. It featured a young girl in stilettos looking like she was going clubbing trying to negotiate the mud on a pig farm.

I didn't watch much more because it was so obviously a set up with totally mismatched people there for entertainment value. Maybe the Polish one will be a bit different but I think a lot of people go on these shows for their 5 minutes of fame. I can't say I'm a fan of these reality shows as I find them uninteresting.

"entitled Karen"...and you will learn how deep is the bottom when "normal" women are dealing with the police -

I have already proved to you that men are equally capable of just the same with the video I posted on another thread. I don't know any women on this side of the pond that behave anything remotely like any of the women in your videos so it appears that the US has more than its fair share of nutters.

family member who hasn`t passed yet but it waiting for the bowl somewhere under the table. :):P):)

It's a bowl for one of your pets then. I can't imagine your cats liking Surówka though, is it for the tortoise?

The date doesn`t matter but it matters that was a family reunion.

The only thing I can think of is that it has a sort of symbolic meaning? In the sense that there's always an empty plate for the stranger on Wigilia, this is a bowl for a family member who has passed?

I feel it is fair to reject your suggestions of hair splitting. :):)

You can reject it but it is obvious from what you have written that you are in the wrong and it will kill you to admit it :)

Sth else is.

Then it must be to do with how it's served? In that bowl? I don't think the date is significant.

Travel / Poland in photo riddles - part 3 [818]

Of course not. :):):)

But yes :):)

You have written clearly in your own words that your wife made vegetarian croquettes :):)

Now, what is it?

Looks like carrot, cabbage and cucumber.

but croquettes look like rolled tubes while in the picture nothing is or is going to be rolled up. :):):

Here is what you actually said:

Talking about croquettes. Normally Poles/Polesses have them with meat or mushroom/cabbage filling.

While my wife made them in another version with kale, onion, mushrooms, groats for our vegetarian kids. She also added mountain cheese.

You're hair-splitting again :)

How about the left plate?? There are two separate heaps. What and why?

I would say either 2 different types of meat for Kotlet Schabowy, maybe traditional pork and chicken. or more likely one of the heaps is a vegetarian version for your kids.

Law / Gun control in Poland: should Polish people be allowed to own guns? [1070]

Novichok, so where's the answer to my question?:

Probably the same place as the answers to all my questions.

I've asked him a couple of times now how many kids dead from gunshot wounds are too many and he's never given me an answer. I'm suddenly 'invisible'. Yet he wants exact numbers for his black and white questions such as these:

How many times did I ask for the definition of a woman? Or how many dead Ukrainians are too many?

I wonder why he won't answer such simple questions...........

Look for clues in this thread:

I did and you explained that your wife made a vegetarian version of croquettes for your vegetarian kids. But you said I was wrong when I suggested croquettes.

Just because they don't have meat in doesn't mean that they're no longer a croquette.

it refers to certain issue.

I don't know. Are the oval shape ones on the right some type of croquettes?
