If anything, their problem is they consider themselves to be some kind of Russia, ie, world power or at least local power, which they are not.

I think such statements are aimed more at expressing emotional feelings than a logical analysis of the issue.
Poland instinct to help Ukraine is rational, but the way they go about it is irrational and goes too far without securing Polish interests.
The problem, as always, lies in Polish politicians, who are not up to par and, clearly, on average, less capable and less intelligent than your average Polish citizen.

There is something else fascinating. Namely, you as an example of an educated German. You are always fully committed to whatever official stance of the German government is. So you are saying that Poland should have a rational political policy. Nothing new, I'm trying to impress upon a few people that very idea.
If that is the case, there is no need to argue for the alliance on such a basic level; it should be a matter of course. Details should be ironed out so that Poland would gain and not lose in such a partnership.
A word to the wise: Poland without Ukraine still has many options, while Ukraine without Poland is isolated and cut off almost completely.

As always, people tend to chatter about trivial matters. Poland is facing asymmetric warfare from Belarus, effectively making it a proxy war with Russia. Our government seems ineffective, focusing on irrelevant issues instead of addressing critical threats. For instance, we should be taking decisive action against the criminals attempting to cross our eastern border to enhance our internal security and guard against sabotage. Additionally, we need to adopt a stronger stance within the EU, as its regulations are detrimental to our ability to defend ourselves.

Tusk continues to spread falsehoods and fails to fulfill the responsibilities of governance.
That is a problem and not a theoretical issue: what is an illegal migrant, and what to do with it?
Or even more bizarre and abstract issue of a strategic alliance with Russia.

I understand the article and the point it makes. It discusses how the German state at the time sought to recruit as many soldiers as possible for its army. This effort extended even to Poles who had no prior connection to Germany. Nonetheless, there were already many Poles conscripted into the Wehrmacht, which is my point.

You forget the partition of Poland. Those German citizens before WWI were often very patriotic Poles.
