News / War propaganda - are we really THAT retarded? [28]

How many times

The Western audience needs to be fed such lies because their support for the war would diminish. I simply dislike that the Polish media parrot these falsehoods. Poles do not need artificial support to remain steadfast in their backing for Ukraine.

Only unreasonable actions by the Polish government undermine that support because Poles get the impression they are being taken advantage of. As a result, they naturally blame Ukrainians, when in fact much of the fault lies with our glorious politicians-as usual.

There never has been,

Most people believe there is some objective journalism. Rather than fight that ingrained bias, I roll with it. If you know what I mean.

has to "create a narrative"

There is something called a political commentator. As for your traditional journalist trade, there have not been many since the 1960s. Keep up with reality: we have party or ideological hacks and conservative journalists, but no more independent objective journalism.

Off-Topic / The agreement in Alaska between the US and Russia. [43]

That's not very sensible.

Dude, we are great, everybody is jealous of us, we are living in the greatest country in the world, outside America, they are living in mud huts.
---
But you just said they don't care about appearances.

Depends on who we are talking about? Average people or ruling elites in the government..
For elites, what Russians make of those pictures of soldiers is just a trivial and unimpressive detail that doesn't influence the image of the US.

Meeting with Putin is the US pretending to deal cards as the world's dominant power.

Now Russians are making fun of American Army...

It was obvious that Russia would use anything to boost its morale and address its feelings of inferiority. Well, we know Russia, and we wouldn't give them even such lowborn satisfaction. However, Americans do not see it this way. They don't really care. In fact, it's a case of being so great that we are elevated above the rest, while their attitude is probably lost on most Russians.

Trump became Putin's little helper.
I understand that he lacks political experience and probably never considered politics before being elected president. He should have listened to the experienced people around him; it's frustrating to see him making a fool of himself.

On the other hand, at least he is candid about the impotence and shamelessness of the US. I believe that playing a bluff would be more strategic, as it is in the interest of the US to maintain that facade for as long as possible. Still, honesty in politics is a rare quality.

As for a more detailed and in-depth comment, I will withhold my opinion till we see a document.

The agreement in Alaska between the US and Russia has implications for Ukraine and broader relations. What are your thoughts on the agreement reached by Putin and Trump?

Work / Are Poles workaholics? [164]

The antipathy towards the Germans is obvious, whether deserved or not.

Don't be debil! lol
What antipathy? You suffer from an inferiority complex.

In part because of the decline of Japan.

Verify your facts. The economic growth achieved in the last 30 years is the highest in two countries: China and Poland.

News / Poland National Recovery Plan - KPO funding [40]

Of course it was!

Of course it was!
Right, I know that. I don't like it because it is not in the interest of Poland. So, that needs to change. Simple.
--
Instead of embargo, silence, walls

I don't get what you are trying to convey. Try again.
---
Have we really become as retarded as a society to accept this?

We have a politically stagnant class and a narrow-minded business sector. Society is influenced and misled by EU propaganda.

This situation needs to change. First, we must reorganize society, then remove the obstacles and the incompetent politicians. After that, we should establish a system that promotes competence and diligence at all levels.

News / Poland National Recovery Plan - KPO funding [40]

Do not regret that you have not stolen. Rather rejoice.

All of this strongly illustrates a truth that many are reluctant to admit: the EU may be designed to corrupt people rather than to benefit them. Poland could thrive without it.

Setting aside all previous funding, the KPO is a dubious idea. What rational politician would support it? These funds are essentially borrowed money; only a select few benefit while the country ultimately has to repay the debt. There's no way that's a good approach.

History / 81st Anniversary of Warsaw Uprising [72]

So all those gentlemen taking umbrage to the UK being called for treacherous treatment of its ally, Poland, or Poland being sold down the river (here enters glorious America and butt hurt Yankees), hold your horses. There was a promise; wouldn't it be a fact that those gentlemen go back on their word? If that is the case, shouldn't the honorable gentlemen at least pretend to be men and accept it with grace?

With the US representing its interests and the USSR theirs. I don't see anything shocking or immoral about it...

It's all fine and dandy, except for one detail. The U.S. is supposed to represent a Christian civilization, essentially a good and moral country that stands up for its principles.

If the U.S. entered the war in 1941 primarily to fight against evil, portraying American GIs as good soldiers, then America brings prosperity and freedom, while the Soviets represent the opposite, being labeled as an axis of evil.

You have to ask yourself whether that is the truth or if there is some truth in it. My point is that if your propaganda is broadcast 24/7, you can't blame some people for believing it. If that is the case, then a moral judgment when the U.S. projects its propagandistic vision isn't that surprising, is it?
After all, there was much more than propaganda; it was a promise, made voluntarily:
The Atlantic Charter was a statement issued on 14 August 1941 that set out American and British goals for the world after the end of World War II, months before the US officially entered the war. The joint statement, later dubbed the Atlantic Charter, outlined the aims of the United States and the United Kingdom for the postwar world as follows: no territorial aggrandizement, no territorial changes made against the wishes of the people (self-determination), restoration of self-government to those deprived of it

Simple and vulgar" came first form those who used the term "sold"

Sold is used by them in place of a moral judgment, not to describe an actual monetary transaction. If you want to ask about moral judgment, ask away.
A deal between the US and the Soviet Union was about spheres of influence, and they conspired together to oust old colonial powers like France and Britain. Transaction - I take Poland, you take Austria. I take X, you take Y.

How many dead Americans would be too many liberating Poland from the clutches of the Red Army?

20% of the population.

I've always wondered what the supposed price was.

There is a monetary value, but other valuable things are priceless. You don't think in a simple, vulgar, and mercantile manner, do you?

Actually I am a subcriber of Poland being "the Winkelried of Nations". That was coined by Słowacki.

So in fact, you are a dreamer and a poet. Why don't you try to create some poems and stay out of the politics you know nothing about?

Not always.

There is an exception to every rule.
Poland, as a key country in this part of the world, can never be an exception.

One more from a different angle:
Allow me to introduce you once again to the third Newton's law of politics. Do you think it sufficiently explains the issue of Kosovo?

History / 81st Anniversary of Warsaw Uprising [72]

Yes, recognized puppet

Ownership is defined as possessing 90% of the rights. It doesn't matter if the so-called London govermnat in exile was legal or not, whenever it was recognized by Poles elsewhere or anywhere. It was a nice symbol of national defiance, but aside from its symbolic function, there was nothing more to it.
In reality, the government in Warsaw, in Poland, dominated by the Soviets, was the real government.
So, the US recognized reality.
The transaction of selling the whole of central and eastern Europe to the Soviet Union was done elsewhere and much earlier.
--
even before this recognition changed to the soviet puppet government.

The third law of Newton's laws of politics states - those who hold bigger guns make the rules.

When was the last time either of you saw the Odra?

I wonder how someone that clever and knowledgeable like you gets so lucky to acquire such an uncanny skill. You can even at a glance tell the history as well as the present and the future of a place, and who knows what else.
Have you ever looked into the mirror using your skill? Do you see in the past, present, and the future, clueless pompous ass? Yes, it means your skill is working correctly.

Life / Moving back to Poland after 19 years [20]

'cuz most of the older Poles (those approx. over seventy) speak

Polish. I don't know what you are taking, but it is not good for you. Maybe in the 50s, your theory would hold some water, but not now. I vaguely remember a very old woman, while I was a little kid, who was reminiscing about her working in the Post Office in Berlin before WWI.
