This outrageous situation took place last Saturday in the centre of Warsaw. Around 5 a.m. a young woman was waiting for a taxi after finishing work to go home. At one point, a man approached her. "I immediately sensed danger, because the guy was very pushy, constantly trying to get my attention with various texts. I didn't react to his innuendos or provocations, constantly walking away in the opposite direction, because I didn't want to give any signals of interest. The situation started to get worse, because he started to get very close, constantly asking me to go with him," the injured party described the situation.

"On the recording I couldn't take it anymore and started screaming for him to get away from me, but he still wouldn't let go until he finally lifted me up on the pedestrian crossing. Then he let go of me and dragged me by the legs," she added

"As a result of the actions taken, after an hour and a half the man was identified and taken to the police station. After examination, it turned out that the 25-year-old, a Latvian citizen, was intoxicated and, in addition, was behaving irrationally and aggressively. After calling an ambulance to the scene, the paramedic determined that the person qualified for placement in a sobering-up station. After being placed in the station, due to his unstable behavior, he was transported by the medical rescue team to a psychiatric hospital, where he is currently under observation," the statement reads.

Come on, relax, Everything goes well. You guessed again, that`s what counts. Raisins or sultanas, whatever. :):):)

As for the dish, nobody will guess, even native Poles or Polesses, so I will tell you. I used them to make my semi home cottage cheese pancakes. I can buy such pancakes with raisins only when I visit the big city from time to time - they are unavailable where we are living.

I was lazy and bought ready made wraps instead of making them like my wife always does for her pancakes.

The result? After frying they looked like the dog ate them and threw up, but they tasted delicious and I am going to repeat that procedure. But next time I am going to drain the raisins coz I pit that milk soaking into the cheese bowl, too. It made it sweeter but created problems while frying.

I already told you - sultanas are raisins to 90% Poles and Polesses. When there was a supply of dried fruit to shops in the communist system, nobody cared if they were raisins or sultanas. :):)

That is why when a Polish recipe mentions raisins, consider it an option for sultanas as well. :):):)

Some people would feel really torn in case of war. E.g,, Torq - he considers both countries as Poland`s allies or friends or whatever but surely positive. I wonder how he will react to some violent hostilities.

Yes, true. Still, wine makers boast of making their drink of gods without adding any sugar, depending solely on fructose in fruit. But it seems impossible to me that natural sugar in fruit is enough to make sweet wine. I use really sweet fruit for my wines and still have to add 1kg sugar per 3 litres to achieve proper alco content.

1990s had its dark moments when I got a big unpleasant surprise from my compatriots.

One of such surprises was the return of communists to power a few years after the system had collapsed. Many people lost work and personal safety during the transition time and liberal govs did little to help them. The disappointed part of the society voted for former communists now renamed as socialists, in vain hope they would take care of the jobless and needy. It happened during national elections in 1993. I swallowed that bitter pill and didn`t call them homo sovieticuses yet.
However, I did when in 1995 ex communist apparatchik Kwaśniewski was elected President. That was too much for me and I was really shocked coz people supported him after his debate with Walęsa during which the latter acted in a rude way to Kwaśniewski. So it didn`t matter that Kwaśniewski had once fully supported the communist regime and justified its crimes against the opposition, it was enough that Wałęsa refused to shake hands before the debate. Only this.

That was the first time in my life when I started analysing the problem of homo sovieticuses in Poland. And they weren`t oldies as one could presume. No, people my age, so relatively still young.

Here, communist propaganda guru, Urban, enjoying the democratic elections won by his buddies in 1993.

Red ones are called cherry plum - śliwa wiśniowa, while yellow ones are mirabelle plums.

Encouraged by this success with kompot, I have replanted two little seedlings of cherry plum which had unexpectedly emerged in the wild part of the orchard, If things go well, I am going to make dozens of gallons of kompot in the future. Holender, I need to buy the third freezer..
