Pure and utter bollox.
Corruption is how Socialism/ Communism functions.
When a degree of Capitalism was introduced to Russia, the corruption continued, because that was the only system that Russians understood.
Please do not compare Russia to Eastern Europe.
There is corruption there too but not on a Russian scale!
Russia is on a level with Africa.
Third world countries.

Because they have all been miserable failures.
And this is at the heart of why socialism always fails.
It is too easy to corrupt and take advantage of.
Sure, this is true, but to a lesser degree, of democracies, because, in general, they are more open societies than socialist ones.
I think nowdays there are many efforts done to discredit all the varieties of Socialism
And quite rightly so.
Because they have all been miserable failures.
whether we could call the system which existed in Poland 33 years ago a variety of true Socialism.
And this is at the heart of why socialism always fails.

I think that he is in an even weaker position than Putin and that is why he does not want to get directly involved in the war.

But a recent poll conducted in Poland showed that after Roman Catholicism, the Orthodox church was the most trusted religion.
Not surprising really, as they are so similar...
After that it was the Protestant church and then Buddhism,!

Poland has long had a fairly large Vietnamese population.
Mainly in Warsaw.
Many of these people run superb Vietnamese restaurants.
And Poles wrongly assume that most of them are Buddhists.
They forget the fact that Vietnam was,for a long time,controlled by France.

I really do not understand the fuss on both sides.
In my humble opinion, men and women are equal.
But they are very different and,in general, better at different tasks.
I don't want to generalise, but I will, women are better at multi tasking than men.
Men can focus on one subject or aim better than women.
Men are generally better at manual work.
Women are generally better tackling family and household problems.
This does not make one sex better than the other.
It is natural.
And they compliment each other.
I think that even Rich and Pauline may agree with me here.....peace?

Not my experience at all.
From what I have seen, the reverse is true.
Most Slowaks can understand and speak Polish.
Poles just do not understand Slowak.
I have known one Polish girl who did and she shared a house full of Slowaks.
I think it is easier for Poles to understand Slovak
