Law / Help with confusing requirements for emigration from UK to Poland [22]

The UK government have said that UK citizens will not be part of this system after the end of the transition period.

Poor sods , basically anyone with a problem that would not be covered under private insurance (there are plenty) would have to think twice about a European holiday, or get a 50,000 pound bill for repatriation lolololol serves them right hahahahahah

Will the s1 work for old folk post brexit ? , no more Brit retirees pensioners in Poland , France or Spain !!!!!

voluntary contributions to the NFZ fund (I think that's around £230

Its 417 zl a month less than 100 pounds a month that would cover you and the wife and sprogs if u got em.

Best sort it out sooner than later cos there are extra payments required for each year you are in Poland and don't.

If you get a job in poland or go on the dole your contributions are paid for

Oh and basically your EHIC card will work forever , no one checks in the UK and polish hospital's are more than happy to take it

You then just pay 100 zl (20 quid) per doctor visit /

But best do NFZ proper, that's the right and honest thing to do.

If you dont want to Pi$$ around with S1's from the uk etc, get a job in Poland for one month get fired (say no more) , then go to the NFZ office and ask to continue paying voluntary contributions.

News / A good day for animals, fur trade and ritual slaughter banned / limited in Poland [22]

Meat is not the same these days , it is best to limit your consumption, there are many issues , one biggy for me is that animals can be injected by all sorts of veterinary products and are sent to slaughter without the prescribed waiting times.

Human kind should make an effort lo limit meat consumption , it would be good for the people and the planet.

The body functions best on a balanced diet and that includes vegetables.

I am not a veggie , just for the record.

Tell them to

I'm not telling them anything, all nations can make their own choices , historically meat from large animals was not eaten in such large quantities as it is today.

If you ever spent anytime in China you would see they eat a very wide variety of foods, including toads, grasshoppers snakes etc.

It would do us all good if we ate more vegetables, the UK during the war managed on a small ration of meat, people were healthier for it.

News / Years of Poland in the EU - assessment of pros and cons [1177]

as gentle with Poland as she is.

Grow a pair!!, Poland can stand on its own two feet, Poland has no issues with Germany, only a slight spat over taking in its migrants which is all sorted now, oh and a outstanding pipeline issue.

Germany is cool Poland is cool, but it would be wrong for either country to try and force their political / moral agendas on one another ,

look at what happened last time we had a spat.

was it called Westway?

It was utter crap, see what your Guardian bible had to say about it .

USA, Canada / My grievances with the American-Polonia [54]

chapters seem to be completely

I will make one observation if I can , the people who live in the Polish countryside are quite different in their views and outlook to those that live and work in the cities.

Those in the city seem more liberal, cosmopolitan, and those in the country are quite conservative, begs the question is American Polonia as a whole conservative in outlook, where those who live in the Polish cities would not necessarily hold the same values?

Genealogy / Last name - Murzyn [33]

Amazing you have dug up a thread that talks about white Polish people with the surname Murzyn as J357 says Moor.

Strange how today the foreign PC brigade that are guests here in Poland are using this word to accuse poles of racism.

'murzyn' is falling out of use.

Because lefties are weaponizing it to bring discord and racial division as seen in the UK and USA.

Like 'murzyn'.

Deal with it.

Put the focus back to where it belongs , you and your nations history.

Murzyn is not racist .

Foreign lefties like you are trying to make it so.

So you're a Brit. Even very.

Sorry I don't associate myself with any part of British colonialism, or the very many English words specially invented to dehumanize and demean people of a different race.

The English language over one hundred words that are racist. so tell me how many racist terms does Polish have in comparison?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs

Do you get the picture its you and yours that have a problem , so deal with it.

Poland, there is a diversity of opinion on this matter.

No there is not stop making things up.

Yours too.

I was born in the UK to Polish parents who had bugger all to do with black slavery and colonising countries.

Guess there are black people out there who resent these crimes against their people , the same way Poles resent what the communists did.

Its your problem , same as Germans with the Holocaust, so you should take a knee and pay reparations for your historic crimes as the Germans did.

Stop projecting your historic guilt on other nations who do not have such a torrid history when it comes to slavery and race relations.

In other words sort your own backyard out first, you carry the guilt and sin of your ancestors to this day, so sort yourself out, knock down more statues and pay reparations if it makes you feel better.

Stop trying to radicalize the Polish word murzyn into something racist in your quest to beat your chest and make yourself feel better for what your forefathers did.

Go to London and join in with the BLM movement, because the UK is the historic home of modern slavery and racism.

Murzyn is not racist ask any pole, you are suffering and trying to make a mends, because of your British imperialist slave trading heritage , Poles don't have your historic guilt / crimes to deal with.

I can see you are a part of the politically correct brigade (pc), the whole idea of having a nick is that you didn't like it, the only guy in the bar with a good nick was murzyn because it just means black guy.

But murzyn and the rest of the Jamaicans that I knew refereed to a gay as a batty boy, now that to me is malicious.

So go tell the Jamaicans to stop using batty boy before you start worrying about zaba and golden bollock$.

Bet you are a right bore correcting everyone down the pub.

Language / IS "MURZYN" word RACIST? [686]

non-native speakers who are upset by it

During my upbringing in the UK the word was never used in a negative context either by my family or the polish community.

We had a black guy that drank at the local polish club and he was referred to as murzyn , but also we had a guy called zaba (frog) because he wore bottle top glasses, also another one called cygan (gypsy) because of his dark skin, there was no malice just nick names .but these days the pc brigade are on the hunt for racists and anything can be used against someone white skinned to brand them as such.

So what's wrong in saying where is murzyn or zaba, I also had a nick. oh we also had one English guy called golden bollock$

At the bar you would say, have you seen murzyn, cygan or golden bollock$ today.

The worlds gone stupid, words once used in innocence are now vilified by the pc brigade, but all it is doing is fuelling hatred and division.
