Indian? Gypsy? Turk? [41]
On the other hand, Turks were shamans just like Native Americans before they were budhist, taoist and christian.
Good informative post, Suildir. But, the science (capitalism science!) will distort all truths so to make advantage for themselves to make money.
By the way, a clarification to your this paragraph from me. Turks were Tengrists, rather than Shamans. So were Native Americans. Most important sign of Tengrism is Evil Eye object (gok boncuk originally) which is a Blue Eye and the symbol of Sky God. You see widely used everywhere Turkey and in Turkic countries even though Islam forbids this object. Another important similarity is burning "uzerlik" plant (i dont know in English) which is burnt and its smoke is blown onto a person who is supposed to be exposed to an evil eye (jealous eye). This is also still done by Native Americans. All ancient Tengrist traditions. I remind you people use Tanri in Turkey without knowing that Tanri is forbidden by Islam as it is not a name of Islam God.
Another clarification.. Turks are not only black hair, etc. Since they have been spreaded everywhere in the world, their colors change a lot from black hair, to yellow, to red, to blue eyes, to tall, to short. Just an example, Khazars are red hair tallk Turks... All these physical appearences are determined by climate. This has nothing about the race or the nation. If you live in a cold country like Poland or Norway, you will have to change in time to protect yourself by becoming whiter and whiter so you will be in harmony with the climate, with the snow. Look at the bears at the poles of world and in other parts of world. In cold regions, they get whiter. So simple. So, stop racistic absurd things about the color. Colors follow the sun and the climate, so simple.
A response to OP's post. In 1700s, no Turk moved to America. Those who moved to there as a group were some folks of Ottomans (an empire with a mix of several cultures and nations) and those who moved to America continent were mostly Arabs of Syria and Egypt. But, Latin Americans called all Ottomans as Turks, of course, wrong. Just example. Former Argentina president was known as El Turco while his ancestors were actually Ottoman Arabs. So, your ancestors can be Arabs rather than Turks.
