Food / Are there any Polish recipes in which alcohol is an ingredient? [13]

Bloody Mary as a starter - tomato soup with a splash of vodka? Whoops missed the whiskey comment, you could do a steak with a whiskey cream sauce? Also do a take on tramisu - whiskey and coffee go like apple pie and ice cream :)

Also pate with orange and whiskey is quite nice...Home made pate is the best...as long as you have good bread!

News / ARE POLISH PEOPLE TAKING OUR JOBS OR DOING OUR JOBS??!! DISCUSS. [126]

I may have mentioned this before but all the staff in all the supermarkets I go to are English...so evidently we are capable of doing our own jobs! Myth dispellled that foreigners do the lower end jobs and Brits are lazy barstewards who wont take them...

Of course they can. You can get a council flat for about 200 pounds a month, council tax of around 100 pounds - leaves around 500 pounds a month to play with. Might not be in the nicest of areas, but hey, they're available

lol

What plent are you living on?????????????????????????? You honestly reckon someone can live on minimum wage????????????

40 gas
35 elec
100 ct
at least 400 rent (even in a **** area, not sure how long youve been out of the counry?)
30 phone (land line)
25 mobi
60 water rates
10 tv (normal)
50 - 150 travel
100 food (given that some people eat fresh food)

you do the maths genius? on £6 per hour how much would a person have to earn to actually live? I mean just live?

UK, Ireland / British news: The Poles might be leaving but the prejudice remains [52]

It's definitely disintegrating. Did you know that in the mid-80's, Scottish TV would play God Save The Queen at the end of the night? Can't see that happening nowadays...

They didnt play in England! Bast*rds! lol - maybe it was just to wind the Scots up :D

If you Scots want your independence...you can have it...lets see how long you last, let us not forget, you are an insignificant little upper part of the Island same as those Welsh tossers who think they can make it on their own....I'll parade my ar$e up market steet when they get total financial independence! It'll be straddling me knees by that time!

The only people that need freeing from any ties to this Island are Ireland!

Hell, it'll be people from Newcastle next coz they got a dodgy accent (Mr HB you know Im having a laugh now)

Love / Traditional wedding rings in Poland [11]

First rings are worn on the right hand, not on the left as in many other cultures.

Sorry what do you know about many cultures?

News / Twelve coal miners dead. [23]

Bravo? You want the coal mines back?

Coal is a natural resource and has been used for centuries. We live in an age where ways of mining can be made safer for the environment. Its not like we used open cast mining in the UK like in developing countries and it peeves me that we import coal from Poland when we still have it in my own country, which could provide jobs for men.

You don’t live in England, therefore you have no idea of the reality of the devastation it caused to communities when jobs were lost, viable mines were closed, regardless of what we were told!!!!!!!!!!

Simple!

This thread is about men whose lives have been either lost or devastated along with their families; you had no right to come on here with your usual self-righteous crap! Go find a nice PC forum!

Love / Broken Heart, An amazing girl from Poland [139]

I can't really explain, I just find Polish women nicer. I don't mean to offend by the way.

Why should I be offended that you're a bit stupid, you reckon a whole nation of females are nicer because they happened to be born in a different country...hey hoe!

are you saying he should have gotten a hot plate instead? is that right? :D :D

Maybe a George Forman, a lean mean grilling machine, that might have kept the ladies around for a while longer ;0)

News / Twelve coal miners dead. [23]

You clearly have no idea about what it means to be working class. This is not the place for your agenda, have some respect ffs or start a middle-class tree-hugging liberal-leftie thread elsewhere.

Bravo, I live in the north west and saw what happened when the pits closed! Whole communities died along with them.

As for false sentiments...millions of people didnt know Lady Diana didnt stop them laying flowers...Why should she get any more respect than these men that have lost their lives. This is a Polish forum, where we can pay respect to Polish men who lost their lives!

Love / Broken Heart, An amazing girl from Poland [139]

I actually hope she sorts her problems out and ends up growing old with her husband, she was probably lonely in a foreign country.

Yes, because then they won't choose their mum over you - best of both worlds! :)

My ex brought his mum to the pictures with us once - I liked her but it would have been nice had she been in a foreign country LOL...

Life / Getting married in Polska - some advice required about mixing traditions [27]

Yes, it will be a catholic wedding, but I've never been to one nor am I catholic, so unfortunately it will not be familiar.

Sorry but that amused me, the only thing Catholic about a Catholic wedding is the church service...Its also the same as Church of England wedding held in a church (maybe slightly different if you opt for the full Requiem Mass in RC)

Nice to see everyone slagging off the UK and trying to say our weddings are crap, for everyones information, we have live bands at our weddings, we also have good food, but by the sounds of it most of the Brits here complaining how bad they you've evidently only ever been to one at some dodgy liberal club with Daves mobile disco and egg and cress butties on the buffet!

I dont want to spoil the thread for the OP but it anoys me when people slag off anything English...

UK, Ireland / "Polish ambassador warns - think twice about coming to Britain for work " [126]

they actually speak english there so i am not sure if that is their fault. ;) :D

Very poor quality. They also do not know the reality of the countries of the people they are talking to, my ex rang about his electric bill to a foreign call centre, the bill he received was for 4 weeks use of electricity, it was for £300...now anyone in the UK would know that, that is a little excessive to say the least, but they really couldnt grasp that...

Another instance a friend of my got broadband from BT (what a joke) and the call centre was in India, after 2 weeks of getting no where she demanded to be put through to a call centre in the UK...they guy sorted it in 2 minutes!

This is why I will always stay will O2 and all my utilities are with UK based call centres and my bank! you pay for what you get!

News / Twelve coal miners dead. [23]

So sad, I heard this on the news when I was away...As Mr R said, makes you realise how easy your life is and that there are people who go to work and litterally risk their lives to enable people to keep warm and live a comfortable life.

RIP and condolances to the familes and to those that were injured a speedy recovery :(

UK, Ireland / "Polish ambassador warns - think twice about coming to Britain for work " [126]

No, I didn't know that, but I wouldn't be at all surprised!

A friend of mine works for Accenture near Manchester airport and they have just made all the secretaries redundant and all the support now comes from Bombay...needless the say the guys they are supporting as less then happy. We are exporting EVERYTHING.

Love / Broken Heart, An amazing girl from Poland [139]

If you know where she was working, you may ask them some informations don't you think

DPA (Data Protection Act) prohibits this, would you like someone giving your personal details out?

He wasnt even in a relationship with her, he was infatuated with some girl who came here to make money to sort out her financial situation....MOVE ON! Im not moved by his post, in fact I think he sounds pretty stupid!

YAWN, another sado!!! Next please!

Love / Broken Heart, An amazing girl from Poland [139]

If it's any help, try shagging another girl as quickly as possible, that usually helps...

Hmm, her best friend is always a good option...

I've lived with 6 different women and have purchased more fridge freezers and 3-piece suites than most people have had holidays abroad!

You think most people have only been away 6 times? ;0)

get yourself a nice English girl next time

True.

off back home to their mums!

But is it any better when mummy lives round the corner lol...

News / Polish public property to be destroyed by Italian company to set up a pub. [30]

If you think having blocks on historic land and green areas is right you have no vision,

No I dont agree, I didnt say i agreed with anything, I merely pointed out that your government can do what it jolly well likes.

But the fact is they did not want to pay for it.

Blame your government - they sold it, do they not have to advertise it in the local paper to notify people of their intentions, this way people can object..thats what they do in the UK and trust me when they do try it, the public do make a stink about it.

Poland has a lot of corruption in city offices you know that.

There you go, someone got a backhander (Im sure it happens here too).

History promotes torists not drink bars and night clubs.

Both do.

i thought from some comment on here that it wasnt a perm structure...I think someone mentioned canvas, which lead me to believe it was a tent like structure.

News / Polish public property to be destroyed by Italian company to set up a pub. [30]

Shelly what a Communist or Post communistic bloc mentality!

hardly, I was stating a fact, the land is owned by the government (local council)..anything publically owned is not actually owned by the public it merely means it is not "privately" owned, municipal parks in the UK can be used for whatever reason the council deems acceptable, even selling off land has been known, you should see the lovely block of flats which was built on an old cemetry!

I am an Economist by the way.

Good for you, then you will understand a little about business and how it helps a country grow.

So some italian company is going to dump a load of sand and erect some canvas buildings on the riverside and charge people to go there,

Easily removed, as I said, not a perm structure, so no real damage done.

Why has the city government allowed the lowest form of development of priceless green area?

Welcome to the real world, because of the over crowding in the UK due to mass migration to my country, we are building on greenbelt because we have run out of brownfield sites!

Shelly's comment was 'the government can do whatever they want with public land'. This is not true. That is a communist mentality.

No, actually its not, read my other point.

Food / What Polish food or drink do you not like and why? [37]

Cholent

Why? Its lovely :)

I didnt like those role things that came with the beetroot soup, Im sure it had dog food in it...its was dreadful, I did feel quite bad when the waitress came round and saw that all of us had taken one small bite and left it on the side of our plates..
