Love / i love you -why say it if you dont mean it [56]

sour grapes.

Hey, no not at all! I'm the only person he ever loved, so I have no hard feelings. I just think its cruel for him to do that to his subsequent gf's.

Love / i love you -why say it if you dont mean it [56]

I know someone who tells his gf's he loves them just to shut them up!?

I think that is really low, but he says they keep saying it to him or they keep asking him and in the end he just says it so that they will be quiet.

Obviously, in the end these girls get their hearts broken because he leaves them and then they realise he never loved them.

Yep.. he's going straight to hell!

Seriously though, I don't understand why he would do that to them because he's not really that bad a person. I was married to him for 9 years so I understand him really well, but I can't work out how he can be so careless with other peoples feelings.

Its a nasty thing to do.... I hope it never happens to me.

Life / Why do poles drink & drive? [82]

It has been my experience that the Polish people I know are just unaware of the rules and regulations in the UK, from things such as tax issues, to how many drinks, if any, you are allowed to have and still drive.

Therefore the obvious solution is to put this info out into the public domain in many languages, not just english. The drink drive tv ads and the kill your speed are great, but not if you don't understand what they are saying.

On a side note, my Polish friends can drink copious amounts of alcohol before any effect is even apparent. I mean they can literally drink me under the table. It is prefectly normal for my friends to have a pint of Guiness and a double Jameson as their first drink, they think nothing of this. So maybe they think that because they feel ok, their judgement isn't affected yet, so are safe to drive.

If they were told precisely what the law is then they will either follow it, or if they have a blatant disregard for UK laws, they will not. If they chose to ignore the rules, then you have a civil disobedience problem on your hands!

This is just my opinion :-)

Life / Cheap way to call Poland [6]

Jajah is really good. Jajah.com

I use it to call Prague from the UK, costs a couple of pence a minute, or free if both you and the person you are calling are registered.

Just checked out rates if calling from UK to Poland:

JAJAH Rates*

From landline: 2 pence to landline or FREE between Jajah Users.
10.5 pence to mobile phone or FREE between Jajah Users.
From mobile phone: 9.7 pence to landline or FREE between Jajah Users.
18.2 pence to mobile phone or FREE between Jajah Users.

* Applicable rates are displayed during the call and may vary depending on the operator.
For users from the EU: all prices are listed without 15% VAT.
As of May 1st 2007, free calls are only available from JAJAH Web.
(Jajah cheap rates still apply to all calls initiated from JAJAH Mobile Web and from JAJAH Mobile Plug-in).

I would check this out thoroughly though because all I know is it worked for calling my folks! I don't really know anything else about the company or even fully understand how it all works!!

Love / Do Polish men like aggressive women? [26]

I don't know... Michal does have a point. There are just as many hurt and/or bitter men out there as there are women!

Unfortunately I only know three happy couples and loads of single men and women who have been burnt by the opposite sex, myself included!

As for up front women, I reckon Ronek has a point. If a women comes on really strong to start with, generally, it might be assumed that she does this with every man she dates. We haven't really moved into the age of equality where women can get away with behaving like men in this sense!

Love / Do Polish men like to flirt? [42]

If it's what you want then let the above sentiments echo but I can't help thinking what the same posters would post if this were a man saying the girl was 20 years younger. :)

Thats an interesting point!

I guess it would depend on the age of the younger lady. If she was 30 and he 50, who cares, but if she was late teens or early twenties it might seem a bit like she was out with her Dad!!

Love / Do Polish men like to flirt? [42]

20 years is a big age gap but it would depend on what you both were looking for from this relationship. If its just a few months of good times then you've got nothing to lose. If you are looking for a long-term commitment then this may prove to be more of a problem.

Everyone is different and every relationship is different. I guess you will never know if you don't try!

Love / Do Polish men like to flirt? [42]

but this man is much younger than me. Much, much, much.

How much younger are we talking?? And how young is he?

As long as he's old enough to buy you a drink it shouldn't be too much of a problem!

News / Humorous Crime about a Polish burglar [15]

Yes I think its the same here in the UK. If a burglar gets hurt while he/she is in your house they can then sue you for damages, or least they can try!

I wouldn't know whether to hit them or not just incase I got arrested!

Feedback / Deleting a member [23]

Find a forum friend and then PM your future translations.

No the translations are fine. That was fun!

If he knows your profile name and password there it can be problematic :) I dont think you have anything to be ashamed of though, from what I have seen. Hope you are gonna tell us how your night went ;)

Haha... if he does read this, even though i've told him not to, then...

the night was rubbish - couldn't have been worse! haha ;-)

Are you asking the question because you are worried about something ?

No, its too late for that! Ha ha

Mostly I was asking because I just wondered if you could get deleted by choice.

Although I wish I had given more thought to some of my comments, especially now that a certain person is going to find them and read them!

Will you delete a member if they ask you to?

Also, if you deleted a member for whatever reason, what happens to their posts? Do they disappear as well?

Love / is he married or not? [41]

If it's this hard work already i would try really hard to put him to the back of your mind.

I've just had the same thing with my Polish guy who drives me nuts!

First of all I couldn't tell if he liked me or not, so I spent ages trying to figure it all out and then all of a sudden we got together one night and he said he really liked me so much but wanted to wait for a special moment to tell me. Then after that he was all distant again, but not in a 'I got what I want kind of way' more like he was just busy, but i couldn't tell what he was thinking or if he still liked me, so I thought it was all off again and then he calls me and everythings alright!?

He is very complicated and I think if its this hard when its just starting out, how much harder will it get? Its supposed to be fun and exciting in the early days!

Love / POLISH MEN TO CHEAT OR NOT TO CHEAT? [72]

I think you are right BubbaWoo.

Maybe these guys are trying to hit on me depsite having girlfriends, but thats nothing to do with them being Polish! Maybe their perception is that Polish men cheat if that is what they have experienced in their lives?

Whatever the case, they are the most sincere, intelligent and honorable men I have met for their age. Their gf's are lucky i think!

My ex was Thai, raised in the UK and cheated on me after 10 yrs together, so I don't think its a nationality thing!

Love / POLISH MEN TO CHEAT OR NOT TO CHEAT? [72]

Cheating in Poland

Hi there,

I have some very good Polish friends i know through work (they're all male) and they told me that a very high percentage of Polish men cheat on their partners. They said its common place in Poland.

Is this true or did they just say that as an excuse for trying to chat me up even though they have girlfriends?? I suspect its the latter :-)
