Love / Getting Engaged to Polish girl, asking permission from her dad? [19]

Its probably a good idea to sit down with the dad and discuss her dowry, how much he is going to cough up for you to take her off his hands, before you go to the expense of buying a ring etc

lol. u'v been on a roll bud.

We have 21st century and nowadays women decide who they marry themselves.

bingo

They are no longer a property that goes from a father to a husband.

but let's not fool ourselves either.

Life / Cyganski Music [10]

Romas are everywhere but as you may know they stick to their own kind. same with music but i am sure some of it percolates out onto other cultures.

USA, Canada / Dual citizenship of both Poland and Canada? [12]

Half Poles are not automatically entitled to obtain a Polish passport, unless an application like that is made within 3 months ob the child's birth and if both parents are in agreement.

exactly. even if 100% PL but born outside one would have to jump some hoops besides coughing up a bunch of dough.

Something to investigate is whether you would be required to do the military service compulsory for Polish citizens.

if over the age of 18, i doubt it.

Language / Sayings in English that seem odd in Polish? [22]

"not my cup of tea"

most americans drink coffee not tea but the saying is quite popular here.

UK, Ireland / Research on Identity of Poles in Britain [6]

many poles tend not to integrate into other sicieties very well. some do however.

i'm polish although i have lived in the USA for a long, long time. i'll always be polish unless the PL gov. pisses me off bad enough for me to drop my citizenship. almost happened once.

News / America: Take your missile base and shove it! [116]

And the other way around. I've seen quite a few people here that live in the US they're anti- US, but are so nationalistic about PL .....and they don't even live there or haven't for years.

noooo. lol

I agree with you that these bases have absolutely nothing to do with Iranian case. It seems that this is all about Russia. However it also seems that this is all about US security not Polish. Why would Polish state accept such project if Americans offer to us very little instead?

ah, i am not for the bases on blind giveaway and never have been. i think it is in PL's strategic interest but PL needs to make the deal that is good for PL. thus far the deal sure doesn't seem good from the PL side so PL needs to negotiate a better one. americans are very savvy, PL needs to step up. this all could be a mute issue come january anyway.

1. You're proposing more American meddling.

read above. PL needs to make the deal to it's advantage. no roll-overs are advocated here by me.

News / America: Take your missile base and shove it! [116]

which one? you're bringing both of them down.

how's that?

Give me an example of being naive.

it's completely naive to think these anti-missile systems are against Iran. if they were against iran, they would be in the ME not in PL.. ok, that should be enough of a clue for you to figure the rest out.

Love / About Personal Problems (English / Polish relationships) [32]

most of the cheating responces is due to the content of the post not some figment of imaginations. sometimes however it is but most of the time it's based on what the author wrote. read my previous repsonce too.

Love / About Personal Problems (English / Polish relationships) [32]

not all relationships you speak of are english-polish.. i bet most aren't. and imho, once background (wheather PL or UK or India) doesn't really have that much to do with anything. most relationships are basically the same.

why are the answers that 'they are cheating". i am thinking that has something to do with the content of these posts. if it sounds like a cat, walks like a cat, it's probably a cat, eh?
