Life / Poems for Poland. [41]

nothing to do with poetry

If you are looking at instead of reading poetry then you're right of course, it has nothing to do with language fancy or otherwise. It's probably instead the beautiful sound of nihility vacuously echoing echoing

All hope abandon ye who enter in writes an interested party upon spying a writer's workshop I forget who though Will Self probably. Pain, Unutterable pain Death yes.

Am I positively capable of seeing the fancy language and enjoying it yes I hope we all are but do I have the capability to detach that from what makes it poetic. Negative. Good.

No we're getting somewhere.

I enjoy fancy language

Then all is not lost. :) Poetry the clue is in the name should only exist to delight not teach nor moralise. Or depress teenagers in schools across the land.

Two out of three is antithetically bad. :)

One line poem:

If you'd made it so the first line repeated itself it would almost be Skaldic. Most likely Hagar yes but it could be Horribly good.

lol Lotkers.

Espresso I hope concentrated like the poetic word.

Happy to help M but it's a shame it didn't reach rural Poland. Seminal works don't come by that often. :)

not converted to a poetry lover

lol

We've all been there yep.
'You can stand by the cyder press with your patient looks all you want I still don't like it. <courage summoning pause> It's nonsense.' Folded arms bracing to reap the whirlwind.

'Mum and Dad have been Larkin around' he'd say coldly. My old Professor used to like to blame the parents for our lack of love for the classics.

It was pointless to argue of course.
'I'm not f**ked up' didn't sway him nor did 'It doesn't make any sense.' Piercing cobalt eyes pitied you as his distant voice oozed 'They don't mean to of course but they do. That and X Boxes of course. Extra just for you.'

insolently stubborn

And yet it seems to have filled your writing to the core with ripeness in that sweet kernel of a line. :)

didnt develop a tune yet

All words have their own tune mate you just have to let the music sing to you. Don't believe it?
Try saying the first lines of your poem like a Dalek. :)

A nation of torches
A nation of rivers

Now say it again but in your own voice. See how when you say it normally it finds its own melody?

And if I may take your words and develop them. Indulge my presumptiveness mate it's just an exercise. :)

Beacons burning brightly
Shimmer on cascading beauty
Sparkle on wise eyes
Those that love Poland.

edit: forgot my smilies

Not bad M but using game instead of nation means that the second line loses its Foyle like Gulliver without his mini golf. :)

Tracing the path of a
New dawn
Hopeful eyes watch shielded
by dirt covered fingers
Change tempts that fickle breeze
Chills to the bone
Fair winds.

History / Who were European natives? What happened to them? Where they are? [79]

Cro-Magnon mtDNA has been found to be of Haplogroup N, one of the two strains (along with Haplogroup M) that migrated out of Africa, from which all other non-African and some African haplogroups descend.

None of this is googled either Southern. :)

edit: Did anyone see the documentary on the small "hobbit" homo floresiensis? Facinating stuff.

History / Russia tells teachers to lie to students about "Katyn" [139]

There was a Borg called Hue.

He was One of them. Five I mean. Fab probably. :)

Our strange occular implants allow us to dispense fashion, cookery and grooming advice. You will be assimilated, ooh.

My friend Pastel will now take you up The Alley vicar. <He's gone white> It's a Theatre you mucky lot.

Hugh however was an ex-Borg as he'd had his link severed. <ooer> More Winston really.

who is Borg

You can't have a singular Borg they're like militant existentialists. No one mention seven. :)
We are the Borg.
We ARE the Borg.
You will BE assimilated, with a long breathy E.

conditioned people to serve their purposes.

Yep kind of sums it up but it's more than that. The assimilated believe not only that it's their purpose in life to serve but also to get others to do the same.

Gene Roddenberry got the idea one Sunday afternoon after some militant canvassing didn't he?
I can prove it there were witnesses. :)
