Salary in Krakow - 3850 pln gross per month, zus system

Hi everyone,

I was offered a job in Krakow for about 3850 pln gross per month. Is it ok for a renting flat, eat normally and have some free money?

Also a bit don't understand about taxes and zus. Do I need to pay zus if my company offer private clinic insurance and I have one year contract? If yes, is how much is it?

Btw, I am from non-eu country

Thanks in advance!

Where are you from, and where are you now? Yes, this matters.

That will be enough for a modest apartment and food, but very little else. I would consider sharing an apartment or renting a room. Significant savings are out of the question, and you'll have to watch your spending. Avoid the Unholy Trinity of Alcohol, Tobacco and Girls, and you'll live a tolerable, but frugal existence.

It is 2749zl after tax. Do not agree. Ask for more. You will be on budget.

You don't pay ZUS. Employer deduct ZUS, tax and ubezpieczenie. You cannot do anything and ask employer not to pay ZUS. Treat private clinic as bonus. You avoid queue to doctor.

do all people pay zus?
I've seen information that people under 26 or student do not have to pay it
Is it true?

I've seen information that people under 26

not true, it would be eldorado, age doesn't matter, umowa (contract) matter

or student do not have to pay it

remember ZUS is paid by employer or worker. Someone has to pay it.
Students up to 26yo do not have to pay it but it is anyway your loss.

How can I know it? do I need to pay or my boss?

If you have umowa o pracę company cares about ZUS. If else there is many depends who pays how much % of deductions and payroll department knows it only.

Yes, I have that one
But does it mean that my company will pay zus for me from their money or they will deduct from my salary?

:)
they deduct ZUS from your salary but you cannot reach this money. So better let they pay ZUS for your pension than not.

I believe that it is only STUDENTS that are not subject to ZUS. If you are employed even from the age of 10 and are not a student you have to pay ZUS.

I heard yesterday on the radio that they work really hard to equal everyone to be subject to ZUS.

Yes, everyone who receives any remuneration for their work (no matter on what type of contract they are) will be subject to ZUS. Money is running short in the coffers.

Is 3000 euro/month is decent salary in Krakow, Poland?

Hi guys!

Could you tell me if a 3000 net salary is okay in Krakow? I'm a Software Engineer with a couple of years of experience. I have already checked the life cost in Poland, and for me, 3K seems decent, but recently I have checked the average salary for SE in Poland and it's quite high: around 5K euros.

Yes certainly ok to live comfortably on that. The 5k average you saw is probably gross and would be similar to 3k net.

I wouldn't dither too much - there are lots of layoffs in that sector in Poland at the moment.
