tinta 1 | 4 27 Dec 2023 #1Cześć! I will be heading to Warsaw next semester as a PhD student with an initial grant of PLN 5000 provided by my professor, which will be adjusted to PLN 3800. I recently came across news that the minimum wage in Poland will be increased from 1st January, with the minimum wage set to rise to PLN 4,242. I am now eager to understand if this increase in the minimum wage will also lead to a raise in my monthly salary.Link: gov.pl/web/primeminister/prime-minister-mateusz-morawiecki-from-1-january-the-minimum-wage-will-be-pln-4242

cms neuf 1 | 1772 27 Dec 2023 #4The stipends are based I think on being 60 percent of a minimum assistant professors salary so it might go up.There is a plan to increase all educational salaries in 2024 but the President is so far refusing to sign this law.But you will get a better answer by asking them straight.
Johnantony 13 Jan 2024 #6I am a PhD student in Poland. I am getting my salary from grant. But I heard the news that the salary of PhD student will increase because the minimum wage in poland has been increased so, my salary will also be increased because I am getting money from grand ?
OP tinta 1 | 4 13 Jan 2024 #7@JohnantonyI haven't asked my future university yet, because I am in the process of getting my official invitation for visa. If you receive an answer for this question from your university or professor, I would be grateful.
Sigmarootpi 15 Feb 2024 #8Unfortunately I think it will not increase in your particular case because when you get the salary from the grant it's not the minimum wage its a fix money from grant. The minimum wage is considered from the university scholarship and the money from grant is like a salary so I do not think it will increase. if you would be getting universities scholarship which is only possible if you go through the competition, then it will for sure increase.
