Visiting Gdansk/Sopot worth it???

Hey guys,

I'm an American 30s thinking to visit Gdansk/Sopot area at the end of May. I've traveled to Warsaw and Krakow in years past and absolutely loved the cities and people, and wanted to try a new part of Poland. Trying to get a sense of if the Gdansk/Sopot will be interesting from both a cultural/nightlife perspective. Also not sure if Sopot area would be lively yet at that time of the year, or if it's still off-season. Appreciate your feedback in advance.

Yes it will be lively at that time - in fact it's one of the best times to go.

Plenty to see and also worth ah afternoon in Gdynia or further afield in Kaszuby.

Go to Gdansk Oliwa to see Katedra and the park.

Then

classicrestaurant.pl/

for an American menu and English-speaking servers.

for an American menu

Should he fly to Gdansk for American food?

Why should he fly to Poland in the first place? To see the ugliest sea anywhere? Cold, dark, and smelly with seaweeds...

Why should he fly to Poland in the first place?

Because he wants to. Simple enough?

Oh, come on... we have swarms of tourists in summer - a veritable invasion every year. At least have the decency not to come here off-season. :(

Please.

Kraków is nice. Wrocław too. Poznań's lovely.

... and Easter, and Majówka, and every "long weekend" etc. ... :(

Don't get me wrong - I love all people. I am a huge lover of human kind. But too much is too much.

May and early September are the best times for Sopot - kids have gone but still enough people around to party

OK thank you. Glad to hear there will still be people around at that time, and a lot of stuff to see in the area.

OK thank you.

A warning: Some RR stations, like Gdansk Oliwa, may not have restrooms.

That was in 2017. Things may have changed since then...

The stations are still the same.

I fancy a week by the beach this year, maybe the strip between Gdańsk and Sopot.
