He's a Customs officer on the border who confiscates illegal booze being smuggled into Poland.

They are gifts because all bottles are originally sealed.

They can't keep them and there isn't a land border except in the east

They are gifts because all bottles are originally sealed.

I notice that one has a visible Polish excise seal; with the rest it's hard to see.

The prices of coal are exorbitant, so he bought them to keep himself warm in winter. Behind the closed doors of the cupboard he keeps a stock of active carbon capsules from your local pharmacy, and he will take them every day in winter not to sh*t himself from the cold.

Easy.

Maybe he runs his car off them. You can get a few miles off half a gallon of three star brandy.

@pawian
Cause he has foreign guests who give them to him as a form of gifts and collects them?

Guys, thank you for your amazing answers. Unfortunately, nobody guessed a very simple case - my friend simply likes collecting good alcohol. It is an amasing hobby coz he hardly ever drinks any alcohol, that is why most bottles you can see are still sealed with those excise tax bands. When I gave him 5 litres of my home made wine in return for his repair favour in February, I saw it still untouched in August. And everybody knows my wine is excellent. Ha!

What is it and why???

Is it your car?

Of course not. I don`t work for TV.
So, you guessed it is a car. Now, do the other part of the riddle.

Is there any connection between 5 litres of home made wine, repair favour and this car?

No, it is a seperate riddle.
Let me be more precise - why such a photo of a car registration plate?

The explanation to the TV plate is that I collect photos of unusual, funny, allusive plates. Currently I am in TV mode.

I collect photos of unusual, funny, allusive plates.

When I was a kid I had a thing for the Mustang (type of car) and started counting the ones I saw (no easy phone cameras then...) I ended up losing track after 300 or so (I'm sure there were lots of duplicates but I was counting sightings, not individual cars).

started counting the ones I saw

As a kid, I played a game with my sister when driving in our family car - we raced to see double digits in plates . Triple digits were rated the highest.

Triple digits

When I see the picture all I can think are "God damm! 666 Rzeczpospolita Polska"

"God damm! 666 Rzeczpospolita Polska"

Wow! Incredible decipherationmentness! :):):)

When I registered my present car a few years ago, the clerk asked me to choose from a dozen plates he showed me. I said I didn`t care and the only plates I refused to obtain were 666 ones. He smiled and said he was waiting for such plates to come so that he could take them for his own car. Fekking closet satanist!!!!!! But he looked such a pleasant chap!

PS. I eventually chose historically allusive plates. As always.

When I registered

When I was registering, of course. Sorry, sometimes I stop thinking grrammatticcally correctly.
