The use of firearms in order to defend oneself against immediate and present danger, such as being deliberately attacked, is clearly justified as clear and present self defense, also known in certain contexts as justifiable homicide.

Arming teachers is a short term and impractical solution! Educators may not be either versed in or necessarily competent in the use of firearms per se. Expecting everybody in any field to be equally adept in both their work, in the case of teachers pedagogy, as well as in Rambo-style assault weaponry, is a clever pipe dream straight out of Hollywood, but has proven tragically impractical in real life. We can't all be like the anti-gun mom in "Suddenly" (1952?) who miraculously whips out a rod in the nick of time and kills the crook just as he's about to shoot her young son.
With only one or two flagrant exceptions, namely a Cologne high school roundabout 1967 and a similar Erfurt prep school in the early '00's, Germany also is way too enlightened to entertain the cavalier use of firearms as is the case here in the States.

@cms neuf Poland does not have a gun culture like the US. Poland never had the wild west. But Poland does have shootings just the same. Not nearly as many, yet less than ten percent of the US population you could expect that.
Because in Poland if a man is insecure about the size of his penis he has to buy a BMW or Audi and then drive like an utter bell-end. But in the USA such an idiot can buy a gun and carry it with him.
@Lyzko Have owned guns since I was 16 pal. Killed a lot of big game, dressed them out in the field. Would have no problem doing the same to any scumbag threatening other people. In fact I would happily defend and child or school on a volunteer basis.
