That's one of those peculiarities of soccer...a tie is considered a win. My USian mind can't quite wrap itself around that concept.

For the Hungarians it's a huge upset....like David vs Goliath....after all they got a point out of the actual World Champions and the favorites for this European Championship. I'm sure the Frenchies had thought this three points being safe already...to bad! :)

Understood. I like the point system soccer uses for wins, losses, and draws. So, I get the value of a tie.

Maybe it would had been better the german team would had crashed out of the tournament today....the Mannschaft looks like a dead zombie dragged into the next stage just to fall out then (happened like that in 2018, the latest biggest disgrace!)

I'm learning the game as I go, so I miss some of the subtilities of the sport; but, Germany seemed to be pressing the ball more this match than last.

They were much more aggressive and played with urgency against Spain. Should be a good match against Sweden.

They showed some spunk against Sweden and Lewandowski's first goal was an absolute gem......
