Well, I am quite sure that the entire Europe (apart from England) will be rooting for Ukraine tomorrow.

At least they won't enjoy home support tomorrow....

Oh, I'm sure there's some Scotch, Welsh, Irish, USians, Germans, Poles, Ghanese, NZers, Bolivians, etc. who give such crap.

A whole stadium cheering seeing a crying little girl??? Calling her names??? I doubt that.....

Whole stadium? I missed that. It's classless for sure.

classless

Just as Gary Lineker saying that Danielsson's tackle on Bessedin was clear and didn't deserve the red card. :-/ There is something profoundly wrong about English perception of the game. That's why I always support whomever they play against.

Now it's thumbs squeezing for Ukraine, heh:)

I guess that caused a louder response. Not so sure. If it did, it is shameless and dark and pitiful. It also wouldn't be so surprising, the general culture has become more classless. I wonder how much if it has to do with people on the internet being able to comment on anything from afar protected by anonymity (hell, think about all the tough talk, sniping, and peurile personal bashing that goes on here on PF). It's bound to carry over into other forums, ie being lost among the masses in a stadium.

Not sure I articulated that well, but you get the point.

Bottom line: class, sportsmanship, and respect is desperately needed!!! A friendly jab is one thing, but when you really mean it-completely different.

There is something profoundly wrong about English perception of the game

I come from an American football background, so I like the more overtly physical style of English soccer, as long as it isn't done consciously to injure another.

class, sportsmanship, and respect is desperately needed!

Exactly.

And the English "class" could be seen from the very start of their game against Germany when they were booing and whistling during the German anthem. And later they wonder why they are the least liked national team outside their country. *sighs*

The worst trolls had their twitter account deleted....I doubt they expected such a strong reaction...maybe there is still hope yet....

I come from an American football background

Which is perfectly OK, as long as you don't use the word "football" to describe the sport in question.

Armorball or cyborgball could serve as valuable, and more appropriate, lexical choices.

the first goal for Denmark was scored after a corner that was unfairly given to Denmark (as TV proved) - there needs to be a way to challenge referees' decisions during a match (at least a couple of such per game - say 3)

All the semi-finalists played their group-stage games at home in Denmark, England, Spain and Italy, without having to spend hours travelling all over the continent (Poland, for example, had to fly to Russia, then to Spain, and then back to Russia again, with base in Gdansk, so they spent more time at the airports and in the air, in constant transition from one place to another, then they did preparing for the games).

Euro "2020" will be remembered in history as the most unfair and ridiculous tournament in the competition history. May such idiocy never again take place.

@Bratwurst Boy
Now now, shouldn´t you be happy about having your squad of sausage eaters traveling to the british isles without having to worry about flaks hitting their airplane? Technology is such a marvelous invention, think of it. 5 000 years ago would could only compete with your nearest tribe, and now? You are able to compete with England

Weʼve raised £36,180 to Show this little German supporter that not everyone in the UK is horrible

That's nice!

I missed most of the game. See it went to penalties. A Denmark-Italy final would be nice! This tourney is dramatic.
