Yes but you have to remember the days before and up to the 2015 election, where all the television media were biased against PiS. Whilst not as extreme TVP in those days had very pro PO/establishment bias. I also remember a TVP Info presenter that was taken off the air in the weeks before the election due to his pro PiS views. So the transformation of TVP to a pro PiS outlet was a predictable response to the media echo chamber of the past. Has it gone to far? Yes but it's understandable, and it also was a factor in Polsat News tacking to the center.

I find TVP funny really, its so absolutely off base of facts. That said, all the people who actually believe TVP as gospel is really what makes Poland look backward to so many other countries. My personal experiences here over the last three years are really unbelievable to people outside of Poland, and this TVP is just another example of the "youth" of democracy here, and the inexperience of real politics. TVN is not close to CNN or MSNBC, TVN is so much closer to center than any other broadcast I have seen, while TVP is FOX on a steroid induced rage.

New theory: PiS bought all those tanks so that the US would turn a blind eye to removing an American owned media outlet that's often critical of the government....

There are also reports that Gowin wants a change to the law (exempting the US from the forbidden list) or that perpetual losers Konfederacja is split and might vote for the bill.

Between this and the ambassador kerfuffle Poland is coming off as a really unreliable partner/ally (the US is a proven terrible ally so maybe the countries deserve each other?)
