One more example of manipulations of the previous regime.

niezalezna.pl/73649-i-o-ten-caly-wrzask-agora-straci-miliony-po-wycofaniu-rzadowych-reklam

In 2010-2014 government spent... 260 million on advertisements in the media - mainly those that now hysterically attack the new, democratically elected authorities.

Exactly. It's controlled by PiS, as this handy infographic shows.

How much did Pi$s spend?
Like, you do know that many of these ads were for things like public announcements? Roadworks, offers to tender, construction etc.
Maybe you know of a way where things like that can be advertised for free?
Maybe you could enlighten us.

as this handy infographic shows.

G'man, that's gettin bookmarked :)

Internet :)))))) ?

That website

2 seconds of googling would find you dozens of other sources providing the same information.

All coming from PiS-media, of course.

1. Social broadcasters will be excluded from fees
2. Out of 10 social broadcasters, 8 are Catholic, 9th is Protestant. Radio Maryja will be saving nearly 500000 zł.

Gifts don't have to come in form of money. If you no longer have to pay taxes or fees, the end result is the same.

Terrible.

Out of 10 social broadcasters, 8 are Catholic, 9th is Protestant.

Shock and horror again. Where are Buddhists !???

What about all the right-winged media that reported the fake KOD page, set up by putinist Mateusz Piskorski, as the real one ? Radio Maryja led the charge.

You keep repeating this as a fact. Actually it wasn't a fake KOD page as K. didn't asked for the police to investigate the matter.

You should talk about facts as they are in this case we can talk about allegedly fake page.

putinist Mateusz Piskorski

Any prove for your claim? As somebody who is so sensitive about media reporting facts just because you are hell bend to give it your meaning to the issue that "admite diversas interpretaciones" can be interpreted in several different ways. Whereas you yourself are jumping to conclusions and like to post unsupported assumptions without any evidence whatsoever.

What that even means putinist?

Radio Maryja led the charge.

You mean comment on a fact. Admittedly it is an interesting way of viewed the world. Gobbles would be proud. lol! Scratch that he was an amateur in comparison to the Bolsheviks or a present day neo-Marxists.

That one is a real smoking gun and I suspect we'll see much more of that sort of thing as we have already today.

Yeah, even radio is in it. Quite interesting but I doubt they will accomplish anything.

Because it's difficult to start and maintain discussions about Poland when a bunch of crazy people who don't know anything about the country insist on trying to dominate every discussion and turn it to their favorite hobby horse....

I noticed it and it's just another example of the fantastically corrupt and crook PiS party to recreate the PRL with only state media.

polskieradio.pl/395/7786/Artykul/2676937

I would take issue with the translation of "to miał być twój ulubiony program" given though, in reality it's more like "your favorite program was supposed to be here"

On the one hand, some European countries already have the tax, on the other hand, the margins are so small for some outlets that this will close them down completely. Poland has a lot of media outlets for its population size, and this is a healthy thing.

The proposed tax is certainly politically motivated.

@jon357, of course it is politically motivated - after all TVP isn't founded by adds, but by taxpayers' money. And PiS is somehow never short of those money when it comes to TVP.

@maf, true.

I think I've reached a point at which I hate PiS. I've never hated politicians or political parties, but I do hate PiS. Anyone who's a member of PiS these days is politically finished in my eyes.

I think it's the first protest on such big scale. World should notice it and take it as example.

@Looker, you're right, I was thinking the same - nothing like that happened in Poland before...
Btw, it's nice to see you taking part in a discussion and not just giving info to people asking questions :)

I don't follow foreign media much (beside some of the US), but I don't remember (or didn't noticed) anything like this before anywhere.

Someone was saying today that they had the same issue in Hungary and a similar protest. I don't know how successful that was.

On the Warsaw Metro today the TV screens just had this message on:

Weird feeling.

Very. Most of the main broadcasters' websites are off.

Hopefully it will have some effect, however PiS are hell bent on bringing about a PRL-bis and don't much care what people think.

You do realise that PiS have applied so many new taxes and 'charges' that 500+ has more or less been swallowed by it?

you probably can't count or your favourite pastime is exaggerating and spreading histery on web forums

the proposed tax on addvertisment in media is 5 per cent (on the income I guess) so what's the problem

You probably can't count as well, otherwise you'd know all about the new taxes that PiS have introduced.

Even Bosak made a lot of fuss out of it - wrealu24.pl/lista-32-podwyzek-podatkow-i-oplat-wprowadzonych-przez-rzad-pis-i-prezydenta-andrzeja-dude/ - and that's not counting the new taxes such as the 'sugar' (actually a tax on all sweeteners in drinks) tax, the new taxes on small bottles of booze and so on.

What's the problem with a 5% tax? You do realise that they want to tax every single złoty earnt in advertising, not just on profits?

PiS are doing this for one reason and one reason only - to destroy independent media by making them financially unviable, therefore allowing them the chance to take over independent media and turn them into propaganda outlets.

children don't drink from małpkis - if their parents do they have only themselves to blame - you still can't count
