Poland's post-election political scene

Experts say that it is likely just the beginning of massive run from the party that went down in polls to only 13-14%.

It's meaningless. People always jump between parties, and as the article points out, PO have much more established and stronger local structures than Nowoczesna. Someone from Kukiz'15 has gone to Nowoczesna today as well.

There's not going to be any mass exodus from PO unless they elect someone completely useless as leader.

Before parliamentary elections, Petru made a point that almost all members of .Nowoczesna are new people and fresh faces, and they were especially careful not to take party jumpers. That was part of the draw. I hope Petru resists the temptation. Getting 28 -> 29 people is meaningless in current Sejm. It's not worth sacrificing principles over scraps like that. It's the next election in 4 years that's the big payoff.

Nowoczesna has nothing except Swetru promoted by the MSM 24/7. Soon they will fill that "nothing" with PO's rats.

It's all kicking off in the Sejm tonight. I expect fisticuffs before the night is out. The opposition promising dire consequences for the government. Like predicted. PIS are fast becoming the laughing stock, and they are digging their heels in and carrying on their illegal work in the faith that our Chairman is untouchable.

To the streets!

Sejm za ustawa Trybulna

I smell trouble.

I'm there.

The behaviour of this clearly communist government is diabolical.

The speaker of the house is a communist - restricting the flow of debate and denying points.

Censorship. I swear if he comes down my street I will set the Die-wolf on him.

You became a bum ?
delphiandomine 88 | 18,131
22 Dec 2015 #338
Don't worry, the only bum here is the one that openly supports a government comprising of ex-communists and the children of communists.

Poland is proving itself to be ungovernable again, and yet you JOKE?

It's governable perfectly well, finally with a real government. Traitors are gone, they can only scream and squat across cities like bums.

Are you mentally challenged?

Why are you so aggressive ?

Are you mentally challenged?

Severely so, given that he openly supports a party which appoints ex-communists to many top positions. It can only be assumed that the real enemy was staring us in the face all along, and we walked straight into what will be a nightmare.

Doug, get yourself involved with KOD.
Grzegorz_ 51 | 6,148

real enemy

nightmare

Why this agresive language again ?
Dougpol1 31 | 2,640
22 Dec 2015 #343
Why are you so aggressive ?

Because your PIS gang have just voted for dictatorial powers, enlarging the Tribunal to 15/18, and signing of by the president tomorrow, with no cooling off period or DEBATE. Do you understand the word democracy?

This inflames the situation, unless the population doesn't care of course. I think they do, and I expect the opposition to obstruct at every turn.

We shall see. Yes, I'm aggressive, if you care to call anger that.
delphiandomine 88 | 18,131
22 Dec 2015 #344
Why this agresive language again ?

Simple language for simpletons that think that 500zł bribes are worth returning to Communism for.

Amazing how the workers were often pacified with cash during the PRL and they're pacified again with cash. lol, or perhaps not.
Grzegorz_ 51 | 6,148

Why do you hate democracy so much ?

Simple language for simpletons

Calm down, the new law on TK has been just passed.

There are plenty of ways to obstruct this criminal gang of anti-business fools.

obstruct this criminal gang

You mean the party that won majority of seats in result of democratic elections just weeks ago despite the previous regime using taxpayers money to corrupt the mainstream media ? Or the president that was directly elected early this year ?

anti-business

You mean anti this business ?
Dougpol1 31 | 2,640
22 Dec 2015 #348
You mean anti this business ?

I mean anti-humanist, selfish, nationalistic right wing morals, allied with communist style inducements and threats, that clearly wont work today. The communists had the IMF pay for their ridiculous foolery. PIS would have the ordinary working people paying for their nonsense.

And I and millions of others are not having it.
Grzegorz_ 51 | 6,148

You will have next elections in 4 years*. That's what democracy is about. Why do you hate it so much ?

* in case you are a foreigner without voting rights, just leave this country and go elsewhere

That's what democracy is about. Why do you hate it so much ?

Because their socialist policies would hurt my pocket.

* in case you are a foreigner without voting rights, just leave this country and go elsewhere

That's what I'm talking about. What an idiotic response.
So all Poles who don't like Cameron should **** off then, to fit your argument. I should leave my business and hard work, and friends and family - just to indulge this xenophobic scum.? Yeah, sure.

No, I am going to fight them.

There's a lot of centrist female voters that are furious about how Szydło has been sidelined.

Remember this post folks? I did enjoy all the assumptions that were made about how she would vanish, and yet she's the premier/prime minister, holding talks with leaders of other countries etc.

anti-business fools.

You obviously prefer the "pro-busienss" and "market-friendly" PO gang that gave Western big-money forces carte blanche to exploit and abuse Poland's economy and not pay their fair share of taxes.

gave Western big-money forces carte blanche to exploit and abuse Poland's economy and not pay their fair share of taxes.

Tax breaks to attract foreign investors - what's wrong with that (as long as you don't allow tricks like the so-called Double Irish Arrangement for example)? Increasing your corporate taxes to fill your coffers temporarily is of course possible, but in the end it will bite you if you are not careful. Once the taxes reach a certain threshold, investments in Poland will become unprofitable and the country will have to deal with major unemployment. Poland is not an island and has to compete with other countries for foreign investments.

Erm...are you actually following Polish news?

The media had a field day a couple of days ago after discovering that many ministers were having private chats with Kaczyński directly rather than going through Szydło - it's obvious to everyone in Poland (and the opinion polls back it up) that she's just a figurehead.
