Should Poland pay for gas in rubles?

Yesterday evening they brought me 2,5 m3 of sawn wood to the fireplace. I didn't have to pay in rubles, only in Euro. 250 Euro is probably pretty good. Today it's on fire ( on trial).🔥

Poland is still importing LPG gas from Russia.
Those PiS gangsters are fekking tricksters, aren`t they?? In the media they claim Poland isn`t trading with Russia while it still is.

In January 2023, 74.7 thousand tons of Russian LPG arrived in Poland. Despite the conflict in Ukraine, supplies of this raw material are uninterrupted, and its transfer takes place via Belarus. This is the result of significantly lower prices of imported gas.

Russian LPG arrived in Poland

The EU will stop it.

Is Poland still importing russian gas?

Gas and oil. Much smaller amounts than before but still. PiS gov claims the embargo is working but they are lying as usual.
The EU is annoyed at Poland.

"Poland is under pressure in the European Union because it continues to import and process crude oil from Russia, " writes the daily Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung ("FAZ"). Bjoern Seibert, the head of the office of the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, two days ago pointed out that one of the EU countries is still buying oil through the northern branch of the pipeline " Friendship". "This violation will have to be discussed with the country," Seibert said.

Much smaller but still the highest amounts of all EU countries. That PiS is really amassing - they say one thing and do another. Liars who still sponsor Putin and his dirty war.

the show must go on.

Yes, PiS clowning show has been going on and on and on and on like the rabbit with Duracell batteries in the commercial I watched in the US in 1990s.

BTW, today gas price is lower than it had been before the war. There is too much gas supplied from countries all over the world which allows to exclude trading with Russia.

Hey, our imperialist Russian posters, you didn`t predict such a situation, did you, when you were threatening us with cold apartments in severe winter time??? You must be feeling silly now.

This is life. :):):)

Reportedly, the ruble has fallen to its lowest level since March 2022, i.e. since the beginning of the war. Well, sanctions work. And it will be even worse when China will "take care" of the Ruthenians economically. And Poland .... no longer has to pay in rubles.

Poland should stop all trade with Russia. Both exports and imports. No exceptions...

Poland should stop all trade with Russia.

Exactly. Tell it to PiS rightist gov. It seems they aren`t able to.

Reportedly, the ruble has fallen to its lowest level since March 2022, i.e. since the beginning of the war.

Now explain why Russia's inflation rate in 2023 is at 2.3% while Poland's is at 11.9%.
Other countries like the U.S. is at 4%, France at 5.1%, Germany at 6.1%,Ireland at 7.5% and the U.K. at 8.7%.
Poland's PiS will be meeting to address this issue today to keep the great job they are doing representing the Polish people like always.

They are projecting that they will be able to lower the inflation rate in Poland to 5% next year and 4% the year after.
Keep up the good work PiS.

Now explain why Russia's inflation rate in 2023 is at 2.3% while Poland's is at 11.9%.

It all depends on what you put in the so-called inflation basket. There are also energy prices which in Russia did not grow and in Poland very much. However, because of the sanctions, Russia cannot sell or buy much from the West. That is why it lacks a convertible currency in russia, the more so that, for example, the EU froze its assets for € 100 billion. Americans for sure too. That's why the ruble fell so much.

That's why the ruble fell so much.

It fell a long time after those events.

The ruble fell not because of the war, or sanctions, but because oil prices dipped.

$100B being frozen in Europe is not the problem. Since we earn a $100B every few months, and have literally no idea what to do with it. Though we are thinking of some creatives uses.

Simple oligarchs deposit them in Chinese and Indian accounts now. Both very reliable lol

Well one reason for the different inflation figures is that the Polish statistical team aren't answerable to an insane murderous boss. The Udmurtian figures are whatever Putin says they are going to be.

That fool Orban has been trying Udmurtian style price controls this month and essentials are already disappearing from the shelves.

@Bobko
Does Udmurtia have any autonomy and does Poland maintain any trade contacts with Udmurtia and does it have to pay in rubles?

Does Udmurtia have any autonomy

Udmurtia is a republic, which is highest level administrative division possible in Russia (there are only 21 republics). However, Udmurtia is 70% Russian by ethnicity. The remaining 30% of Udmurts also look super Russian, except they have a high frequency of red hair. Attaching photos of Udmurts below.

does Poland maintain any trade contacts with Udmurtia

Yes, I'm sure. Even after Feb. 24th 2022.

and does it have to pay in rubles?

Not necessarily. Food, cosmetics, medicines, etc are not sanctioned (unless company is self sanctioning).

Udmurtia is a republic, which is highest

booooringgg!!!!!

no one case about how your decrepit and useless country is run....

we earn a $100B every few months, and have literally no idea what to do with it

A living (not moribund) vital country would invest in the citizenry... new schools, improved infrastructure so that hospitals don't have to use wood-burning stoves, expand and improve healthcare... the sky would be the limit....

but in russia 'no idea what do with it' means 'some oligarch stole it' but who cares? we're a great power!

I am so over russia... just .... go away and leave normal countries alone....

You guys have been calling Putin all kinds of names so why shouldn't I?

But we're not russians, and you're American so you shouldn't talk bad about him just like russians don't talk bad about putin. Also, as far as I know, Poland has never paid in rubles since the war in Ukraine and probably won't pay anymore.
Novichok 4 | 7,964
10 Jul 2023 #146
But we're not russians, and you're American so you shouldn't talk bad about him

Because I am an American I have a very good reason to call this idiot the way 100,000,000 other Americans call him. The destruction this moron causes here borders on treason.

If a foreign country did to the US what Biden and his Bolsheviks did and are still doing, the US would go to war with that country.

Poland and the US still trade with Russia. How they pay is irrelevant.

Just curious...Under German laws, are you allowed to call your chancellor a moron?

Stick to the subject of the thread when posting on the main forums.

Coming back to paying for gas, Germany followed Poland's footsteps and is building several gas terminals at its coast, they even have pipes left over from Nord Stream.

Now it would be cheaper to pay for gas in rubles, since we still import it.

The European Union is still buying Russian LNG, as much as ever, or even more. Currently, 52% of Russian LNG is sold to the EU. Nobody asks about rubles anymore.

They have fallen by 2/3 since 2021. That's even according to the
Udmurtians own forecast

They will never return to 2021 levels. Whatever happens with the war the European democracies have learned the need to reduce reliance on drunk thieves
