Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 16

By 1960 living standards in defeated West Germany and Japan were already higher than in the UNNR

With democracy and the rule of law and security guarantees, Ukraine could teach the same level as Poland and Czech

Nobody wants to live like North Nigerians

There has to be somebody to "live", to appreciate the contrast with life under North Nigeria. Oddly enough, you don't seem to devote even 1% of your efforts to discussing this.

It's as if only Russia is in economic free fall, and has a nasty demographic horizon.

Nobody need mention that Ukraine is far past the threshold, at which Russian "death" is supposed to happen.

This is why people like you have zero credibility.

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

Merrily, we walk to the gallows! Maf Kissinger here has everything figured out. God save us.

Why does that never enter your calculus? Is victory over Russia really worth any price?

Because I'm not a power mad narcissist and I realize it's not my choice. It's the choice of Ukrainian people. I know the idea of a country deciding things for itself is hateful to russians but I'm not russian, I value human freedom and human dignity (non-existent in russia).

What has russia done that would make the idea of russian victory acceptable to Ukrainians?

It's the choice of Ukrainian people.

Do you actually have any remotely realistic conception of the Ukrainian people's wants? Have you bothered to look at surveys produced even by such outfits as Gallup and Thomson Reuters?

Zelensky does not equal the Ukrainian people.

Russia is objectively better able to run things than Ukrainians are. This applies to practically all things (with some notable exceptions). But in the things that matter, Russia delivers better outcomes.

1) Ease of access to government services: (both Russia and Ukraine are at the forefront in terms of digitizing things, but Russia is further still). America is light years behind both.

2) Healthcare - massive amounts are invested in Russia. Smaller regional towns in Luhansk and Donetsk that were acquired in 2014 have state of the art German MRI and CT scanners, let alone Moscow and bigger Russian cities. Ukraine has no such money.

3) Education - there is no question that Russian universities are, again, light years ahead of Ukrainian ones.

4) Practically every sector of the economy has a much bigger and much more efficient Russian player vs the Ukrainian equivalent.

5) Crime - petty crime, and violent crime are both significantly lower in Russia.

Ukraine is great on gloss and other forms of PR, but Russia still has a much, much more capable government than Ukraine. This can deliver better results for the people coming into Russian jurisdiction.

ussia is objectively better able to run things than Ukrainians are.

So? it's not your country. the US would objectively be able to run russia far better than russians have ever been able to manage, has better education, less crime, better medical equipment etc, that doesn't mean I think the US should take over russia...

get over yourselves, russians are not all that...

the US would objectively be able to run russia far better than russians have ever been able to manage

The first difference is that the US did not birth Russia 1,000 years ago, and then Russia did not behave as an unruly adolescent.

The second difference, is that you couldn't do it, even if you attempted to. We are truly sovereign, unlike so many other countries.

The third gripe is that Russia is still able to run many things better than the US, and if you give us another 100 years without insane bolsheviks at the wheel, we can probably do many other things better than you too.

Look at your top ten companies on the stock exchange by market cap. See how many are created by Russian emigres, and extrapolate that to what is possible in Russia if the right environment is created.

the US did not birth Russia

russia did not birth Ukraine, and even if it did, it's a separate sovereign country. full stop.

Ukrainians should have the basic human right to ignore russia, just like Chileans or Thais do.
if you give us another 100 years without insane bolsheviks

russia has always been run by violent psychotics... because russians don't care about freedom or dignity and they put up with them

created by Russian emigres, and extrapolate that to what is possible in Russia if the right environment is create

I've always said that russia has the potential to be a superpower, but russians don't want that so russian talent, when it exists, mostly benefits other countries

russia has always been run by violent psychotics...

Unfortunately this is true, and I cannot explain why this happens. Many Russian authors have also written on the subject, to not much satisfaction.

Again, you know much more about Russia than you know about Ukraine.

Perhaps start reading about Ukraine instead?

You betray your psychoses

I've given learning Ukrainian a try, but.... it's too close to Polish. For those who know a Slavic language, not natively but as a second language, balancing another Slavic language can be very tricky (much harder than balancing different Romance languages and Ukrainian and Polish are the perfect distance to be maximally hard to balance. I can decode Ukrainian signs in Poland but that's about it.

I've tried to become interested in russian a few times but it never caught on... too.... bulky, I didn't like the spelling (not phonetic enough) or accent (too whiny) etc...

On the other hand, russian spoken by Ukrainians sounds much nicer than russian spoken by russians (just as the Irish accent is more pleasant than most UK accents).

balancing another Slavic language can be very tricky

All weak excuses. If your brain is too lazy, use Google Translate. All Ukrainian newspaper owners have made it convenient to do so. At the top left, or right, of a screen on website like Ukrainska Pravda, you can select EN/RU/UA. Sometimes it does the translation naturally.

I've tried to become interested in russian a few times but it never caught on.

Stop pretending. You are so obviously obsessed with Russia. You could teach a course in Princeton on "How to Counter Russian Disinformation".

... it's too close to Polish.

Yes, because these paranoid schizophrenic Polish pans were running experiments on them for centuries.

Maf, I'm telling you - come over to the dark side. The power of truth is incredible.

Neither Britain nor France has any way to prevent such an attack.

I am so happy....

If you decide to hit London, go for the mosques and LGBTs ...

the missile was fired on a practically vertical trajectory.

I like vertical trajectories...You are dead before you hear it and feel it.
Of course mr. pozner, anything you say, mr. pozner....

Finally, something profound and substantial, Mr. Moron...

Bobko will be amazed...

Good news. God love us all.

I just sow and heard. Russia said will issue warning to civilians of enemy countries prior to flatten some base or city, as retaliation because of recent escalation.

Thanks Russia. It would be much more of a favor to civilians then their own governments doing to them. At least people would flee somewhere.

Little mercies.

Does anyone in their right mind think that Russia will strike some Lockheed Martin plant in America? I don't think so.

Neither do I but according to this report they'll take the next best option and prioritise targeting a US military base in Poland:

prioritise targeting a US military base in Poland:

Yep. That means very soon we will see what your rotten Article V is worth.

My guess - a big fat zero. No one wants to die for a warehouse full of weapons in the middle of nowhere in Poland.

Make sure to move all your people out. Putin said we will give advance warning to prevent deaths of innocents.

Like he has so far? The Russian military have deliberately targeted civilians without warning.

The Russian military have deliberately targeted civilians without warning.

How many civilians were killed by the Russian army between Feb 24, 2022 and Oct 31, 2024?

Well, we're getting pretty close to nukes now, folks. Not long left.

In fact, no one supports using nuclear threats to support a war of aggression like Russia is doing, and that includes China.

That is why anyone who is serious, or has a sense of objectivity, understands Russia's pathetic nuclear barking is not actually backed by anything.

That would be like suicide for Russia.

That is my position.Just a big dog barking....... barking mad I could add.....
