Grzegorz Braun extinguishes Hanukkah candles in Polish Parliament
Extinguishing a candle is like turning off lights. No damage, no theft, no crime...Just hurt feelings...a terrible event in a totalitarian Europe pretending to be liberal...

In the US, the country I love so much...nobody would give a fvck...

Painting "Death to Jews" on a temple is not covered by the First and rightly so...because vandalism is not covered. The hate part is.

and I might as well subscribe to a grass-growing watchers society.

When you find them, let me know and I will follow you.

What property? They could fine him for damages. Making it criminal is totalitarian.

Has he offered to pay for damages?

Two options

He's a grifter just looking to secure his brand so he can fleece a gullible segment of the population (the more optimistic of the options).

He's sincere and actually thinks that half of the population of Poland has no place in the country and needs to be exiled or forced to submit to his view of the country.

I don't see much in the way of a third way....

From Wikipedia:

During a debate in the European Parliament, Braun stated, that the military aid to Ukraine is not helping the Ukrainian people, but only prolonging the war, after which his microphone was cut off.

I love that totalitarian, liberal, fascist Europe...We need an acronym for this mouthful...

What property

Anything he destroyed. Public or private property. It's criminal damage.

That stuff shouldn't

So what?
Novichok  6 | 9439

It's criminal damage.

...but putting rapists into women's prison because the rapists self-identify as women is not...BTW, I am talking about that perversion aka the UK...

That never caught your attention but a nut with a fire extinguisher did...

An irrelevance.

The law is the law. People can't just deface or destroy things.

People can't just deface or destroy things.

It is not what you have been saying when there was an epidemic of BLM riots.

He's a

He got 6% support. Which, given the circumstance, is a lot.

Really?

Were there riots in Poland? Are riots relevant? The law is the law.

Next time you're arrested and charged with a crime, tell the judge that someone in a foreign country also committed a crime and watch them say "so what".

The guy can't just go around destroying things he doesn't like.

As he will soon find out in court.

What he'd been polling...

I can understand most candidacies even if they had no chance... Biejat and Zandberg are trying to build their brands (as is Mentzen and even Braun).

I just don't understand Hołownia's candidacy.... he hurt his brand. As Stanowski said in the first debate, Hołownia is in better position to try to make the changes he says he wants in his current position... dude just really wanted to be president. I do have some concerns about whether he will end up supporting Trzaskowski now. He seems to be seriously deprived of common sense.

your understanding of the Polish politics is somehow still subpar, mafketis - I have no doubts Hołownia will support Trzaskowski and I am ready to bet 1000 dollars on that

Probably... I just keep trying (and failing) to come up with any reason for his candidacy in the first place....and I'm stuck with he just really want/s/ed to be president.... which is really not a good enough reason to spend/waste that much time and effort.

I may be overestimating my deductive powers but I am pretty sure Hołownia's running for presidency was his attempt to strengthen his party's image in the face of diminishing support - he greatly overestimated his personal appeal though it seems (he probably likes basking in popularity like in his early days as the speaker of the parliament when his antics were popular among voters of PO et al and were even streamed on the internet - he is a sleek interlocutor - but most Poles see he is just talk no walk by now )

Not very effective.... dumb way of going about it....

his antics were popular among voters of PO et al

C'mon.. he was hilarious.

He's not a thinker or a planner, he's still a performer at heart but was badly miscast as presidential candidate...

C'mon.. he was hilarious.

A clown.

your understanding of the Polish politics

Do you watch those political TV shows in PL where they ask one politician a question and they spend ten minutes saying how complicated it is, then the next one says he misunderstood and in fact it's far more complicated than that, then the third one says that the other two have oversimplified it and pretends to explain how difficult it really is, then back to the first guy (always male) who says that it's even more complicated than the others can begin to know?

Any of my students who did that would get a spanking. If they can't summarise the basics of an issue in 150 words (300 po Polsku) they don't understand it.

a performer at heart but was badly miscast as presidential candidate...

He's looking at partial outcomes. He'll never be president or PM however he's thinking what he can get in the future.

C'mon.. he was hilarious.

hillarious is not what most people in Poland think a politcian should be, especially when you are, as I said "just talk, no walk" as he is perceived by most Poles by now (though I believe a hillarious politician who would manage to be also effective would be a deadly combination in Polish politics (deadly to his opponents))

Not very effective.... dumb way of going about it....

he was counting on his personall appeal and the ability, you know ... to talk (at least in my opinion)- in my opinion, also, Hołownia had no dreams (like grounded dreams) of becoming a president

More a chore.

Braun has to be punishes and seen to be punished.

This will happen, given the criminal case against him.

Iron, my friend, Jon is all the way for spanking. Like disciplining the children, I am sure that was an unintentional mistake, but instead of saying discipline the children .
Subcontinuously, he reverts to, close to his heart, spanking. God only knows what is hatching in the dark recesses of his heart.

Those who will vote will support Nawrocki.

Catholic voters? Catholic voters will support a guy who travelled abroad for 800k pln of tax payers' money with his female co-workers but takes his wife for a provincial Poland tour in his presidential campaign? For a guy who "rozwijał stosunki międzynarodowe" (lol!) in a state-owned apartment that he still hasn't paid for using? Catholics will vote for a guy who tried to scam an alcohol addicted pensioner out of his apartment? For a guy who cannot last an hour and a half without taking strange substances (in front of cameras)?

What sort of Catholics would that be??? 0_0

That was self-defense. It's the bystander who committed an assault by stopping him.

It wasn't and she didn't.

It will be fun to watch Braun's trial.

Catholic voters?

Are you going to vote for Trzaskowski? LGBT kin supporter, and all progressive agenda that comes with it?
If you do you are a fake, not Catholic.

Are you going to vote for Trzaskowski?

With a certain degree of disgust, yes. I would definitely prefer Sikorski but Tusk decided that Trzaskowski will be easier to control, so here we are.

As usual, we're voting for the lesser of two evils and I simply cannot imagine a creature like Nawrocki becoming the President of Poland. It would be a slap in the face of all the Poles who fought and died for our country... an abomination. What's truly sad is that PiS weren't able to come up with any better candidate among them. Sad and scary.

you are a fake, not Catholic.

Sure, f*ck you too Iron.
