PGTX is right, APU. PP, better not get into a debate with her as she'll wipe the floor with you. You can be dressed in the most beautiful clothes but have a horrid personality and stink like a rat.
Polish women are the most beautiful in the world!

Clothing shows somehow what kind of person you are though. As long as what you wear is clean, I think that's pretty good.

I am not talking about the personality, I am talking about clothes and first impressions are what matters most anyway. People make up their minds about you in the first five minutes after first seeing you so better make it good, Seanus ;)
Oh, geez, spare me the superficial crap. Pretensious wanke*s believe in that nonsense. Aha, so I meet a perfectly respectable and successful person who just happens to be wasted at that moment and I form the impression that they're a drunk. Is that fair?

haha Seanus do you live in reality? People always judge others by how they look and part of that is what they wear. That's all they care about.
In America, maybe. Let them judge, who cares? All they care about? What BS!! I think you're head is a way up somewhere it shouldn't be. I wore jeans today at work. Did I get fired? NOOO. You really are clueless, you know that?

Seanus do you actually read the posts on PF???
People do care about how others look. Why you think so many people say "Polish women are the most beautiful in the world"??? It's because they want a good looking woman. Otherwise they wouldn't bother typing those words. Seanus, you can tell yourself lies all you want, but that's all they are: lies. People care most about looks everything else is secondary to that. Looks are often all that matters to most.
People always judge others by how they look and part of that is what they wear.
these people are shallow... do you associate with them?
Yes, some care of course. What's the use in looks when they don't have the right skills for a job?
The only job they may know is a blow job and that doesn't involve clothes :)

I don't usually judge people on what they wear.
Men should always have longer hair. Bald looks bad on men
not really, i know a few guys who look very attractive with a shaved head or really short hair. it doesn't suit everyone of course.
first impressions are obviously very important but so what if someone has great clothes and an awesome haircut if once they open their mouth and start talking you wanna turn around and leave? i find that i am attracted more to someone if they are interesting and can hold down a conversation - even if they're not all that and a bag of chips, rather than someone drop dead gorgeous who only talks about themselves and their grooming routine ha ha...
Exactly, PP is living in cloud-cuckoo land. If I give a sterling lesson with everything in its rightful place, do you really think sb is gonna have a hack at me for wearing jeans?
Justy is right, it's whatever suits the person. Some suit bald, others suit long etc etc.

I don't associate with them because I think shallow ones are boring but they are everywhere and they will look down on someone who isn't well groomed, clean, and has fairly nice clothing. Not expensive clothing, but stuff that matches and is flattering.
Yes, some care of course. What's the use in looks when they don't have the right skills for a job?
Seanus I know where you are coming from and I agree with you HOWEVER most do not agree with us and they make a huge deal out of appearance. If they don't like what they see when they first spot you it can RUIN your chances. Let's say ten people have the same skills but only two or so are attractive and well groomed. They are going to go with the ones who are well groomed and attractive and consider them for a position first. I didn't write life's rules, I just observe them :)
So don't blame me for the way reality is.
I also hear what you are saying, many judge on that basis. Still, if you have a highly forward-driven organization who are hellbent on selecting the best candidates, they will choose the one with the know-how and skills to do just that.
The well-groomed ones may get the secretarial role ;) ;)

ha-ha-ha-ha
They want the one who looks good because they know the one who does will go futher in the PR department.
If you are a man hiring a woman you are going to hire the attractive one. If you say that looks don't matter you would be lying to people.
PR is for losers and vain twats. Sorry, I had the displeasure of meeting such morons in British organisations and they made paint drying seem interesting. They are a complete waste of space and are disgruntled feckers.
Looks matter to some and not to others, get over it!!

haha, if only it were true! But it isn't.
Look, there are some job interviews where there aren't any pretty candidates. If the hirer selects the wrong candidate, he may have his guts for garters, depending on the organisation.

This is when a woman is being considered for a job. Everyone knows the good looking chick gets the job if the only two applying are an ugly one and a pretty one with the same experience and skills.
Riiiiiiiight, so the one with the superior qualifications and suitability doesn't get a look in? Awa an bile yer heid, missie ;)

Two with the same qualifications and experience. There can only be one hire, right? So if there's two that are evenly matched except on appearance why would a guy give an ugly woman the job?
You are going round in circles. I'll let you amuse yourself with your naivety :) I wasn't talking about evenly matched and you know it.

I am talking about evenly matched. Good looking men and women are often assumed to be friendlier, more sociable and better at getting along with others. Team players. That's a plus in favor of the good looking candidate when an employer has a short amount of time to figure out which one he wants to hire and only has the resume, superficial appearance and interview to go on...
I know many good-looking people in the UK who are just as*holes. They are so up themselves, it's not even funny.
Let me know when you clear the sophomore stage, PP.

I know people like that here and they have the jobs and money, lol. Seanus, I am not the one who writes the rules so why blame me? Look around and you will see. The good looking people are the ones with the easy lives, jobs, moneys, promotions, qualifications, etc etc etc ect ect.
