What would be a traditional wedding ring for a man?

I am an English woman and have been with my Polish partner for over a decade. We are getting married this year and as we're both older and on second marriages it's a relatively informal occasion. But I'd love to buy him a ring as a surprise. That said, I can't find any useful information on traditional rings for Polish men online (possibly because I'm googling in English!) There's of course articles about wearing rings on the right not left hand, but any attempt to find 'Polish wedding rings for men' just returns results for the more common translation of 'polish' in this context - i.e. it's been shined in a particular way!

Neither of us are expecting to spend a fortune because at this stage in life it's the fact of marriage, not the spectacle of the wedding. I've seen some really lovely rings, in titanium, silver, and even steel. But before I buy one, can anyone advise if there's a traditional style, or metal or anything else, that a Polish man's wedding ring would usually be expected to have?

Any advice would be great please!

I'd say that the most traditional wedding ring is classic, plain gold ring:

But it really depends on what your partner likes...

I think couples usually buy wedding rings together - after all you're supposed to wear it for the rest of your lives, so it's best if both of you like them... I personally wouldn't turn it into a surprise gift - in my opinion buying wedding rings together is romantic :) - but that's just my take on it :))

@BlendedLife, another thing to consider - how will you choose the size of the wedding ring? Does your partner wear any rings? It would be a good idea for him to try it on first to check if it's comfortable to wear on daily basis, imho.

Plain gold ring, sometimes with an inscription on the inside

Anything else would be rather unusual, though you do see the odd black gold or titanium ring.

If you have to buy a wedding ring, I recommend only one made of gold. Usually, no one is allergic to gold, and gold can be stretched if fingers become thick as sausages in old age. I do not recommend russian gold for obvious reasons. Large wedding rings for men are rather unpopular in Poland, something modest is better, but in no case smaller than your wedding ring. Men's must be bigger.

I don't know of a Polish tradition when a bride would buy a ring to a groom. It's only the other way around, but times have changed! ;)

Indeed...Today, the guy gets a a muzzle and a list of what he is not allowed to do...

A single man who marries a "modern woman" is a moron. Stay single and get all the sex you want...Women give it away for a dinner...or, in some cases, for a couple of drinks...

Just don't give her your real name or phone number...Have a witness so she will not cry "rape!!!" when she sobers up...An off-duty cop with a video recorder will do...It will save you a lot of grief when the church lady in her takes over the morning after...
