Poles turn their backs on organised religion.

People are turning back from this apostate body towards true evangelical, biblical Christianity.

I hope so. After all, we shouldn`t give up our faith. Faith in God, of course, not the corrupt Church.

Of course, not only cover-up acts and moral corruption play a role here in reversing the tide. Also, the current alliance of the Church and the ruling rightists affects certain attitudes in youngsters who react allergically to both.

Well said.

Poland is Christian to the core. Faith will certainly survive here. As for the roman-catholic religious institution... well, they will get exactly what they deserve.

Yes, but in what proportion? Like in France or Great Britain? That would be a pity coz faith certainly helps people get along in life and deal with its everyday worries.

Yet, the top clergy of the Polish Church don`t care about it - they do their best to follow this old rule: After us, the flood!

Most turn to nothing . They may still believe in god but rarely do they join different denominations

It is funny how a confirmed atheist as you are so zealously supports religion.

Not only do I support it but actively participate in all the events and the rituals for the benefit of my family.

In fact, I made sure my kids went the whole cycle. The only things I reject with extreme prejudice and will never accept under any conditions are "miracles" and the "supernatural". I don't need those to accept the Ten Commandments, for example. What Jesus allegedly said and did should be very acceptable to every atheist with two working brain cells.

The only thing that keeps society decent are the moral values that were instilled in us by the religious teachings, not the fear of police as there are never enough of them.

Today, the last place for a kid to learn right from wrong are public schools where everything is relative, and nothing is absolute. At least here.

I see.
So your earlier assertions (I remember a few of them) of being an atheist were just a bluff??? :):)

My atheism does not mean fighting religion. It means not accepting the parts that violate laws of physics or anything where believing is required. All else is fine.

It means not accepting the parts that violate laws of physics

E.g, you don`t accept the part about Jesus` resurrection.

I see you treat religion in a purely instrumental way as a means of controlling the society. That`s what our local ruling class does.

I don't control anybody and anything. I just am.

as a means of controlling the society.

The same way some organized religions use it to control their flock.
Instill mortal mans doctrine in them mixed with God's teachings.
That's why I stick to the pure word of the Bible and ignore the man made up traditional doctrines that instill guilt and fear for the churches benefit to have control over it's congregation.

I live in a society which has rejected it's culture/religion. It has never been so important to have a national identity and religious faith...

A big moment in state-church relations.
First Town in Poland refused to fund religion classes.

Seriously though, that's one town where there's no shortage of religion at all, and no need for the people to fund it in schools.

stop jerking off. That is pitful.
Satanic morons with their phobias. What a pitufl sight.

In fact taxes shouldn't be levied without proper procedure. One by one item. Now they tax people as they want and jobless bums called politicians are making all the desitions.

On the other hand, this town have nothing to show except religion. So it is silly not to invest in religion.

Let the religion invest in them. They make plenty of money.

It's not that easy, Częstochowa lives off of pilgrims. But to be a pilgrim, you have to believe in something and that's what religion lessons are for.

No, that is what churches are for. Religion lessons in state schools are not meant to indoctrinate.

Wow!
The so called City of the Holy Tower. Amasing!

Hey, clergy, now it is time you paid for your dirty support of PiS and other ritards. I will happily witness your ultimate demise.

Down with the Black Mafia!!! hahahaha

PS. I wasn`t always so anticlerical if you remember me from older times here. But ritards made me so.
Should I curse them or bless them ??? :):):)

But ritards made me so.

You sure you didn't just get caught up in your Woke agenda of Satan's lies ?
Your Faith seems rather weak if anything to blame your problem on.

You judge my faith by my wavering allegiance to RC Church?? But if we judge yours in the same style, it turns out you are also a weak believer coz you attend some modern para-christian sect meetings instead of the good old traditional Church.

So-called deaths of despair such as from suicide or alcohol abuse have been skyrocketing for middle-aged white Americans.
It's been blamed on various phenomenon, including opioid abuse.
But a new research paper finds a different culprit - declining religious practice.

It is much less metaphysical than you believe and has little connection with God, actually. Attending religious practices imposes certain discipline on people - e.g, they should put alcohol away for a while coz they can`t be drunk at a mass. Also, when they sit there among other believers, they gain a good sense of belonging and identity.

That`s all.
Find a good reason to gather a lot of people in one place for a longer time. They will also feel great and forget about their problems.

What other perspectives are there about the belief of God existing (which I do)

The prospects are grim. Believers who advocate killing migrants are not taken too seriously. So, when you tell people there is Goddess and you believe in Her, they won`t believe you.

In 1970s my teacher of Polish in primary school, a really aged woman, once mentioned in class how she became an atheist as a young person. First, in 1939, she received a huge shock when the Pope supported Germans who had just conquered Poland.
wydarzenia.interia.pl/raport-historia-w-interii/news-papiez-wystawil-polakow-wstydliwa-historia-z-1939-roku,nId,7770544

A year before the outbreak of the war, the new bishop of the Gdańsk diocese was a German priest - Carl Maria Splett . When in September 1939 German troops entered Gdańsk, he sent a pastoral letter to the faithful in which he expressed his joy at the unification of Gdańsk with the Reich
An even more controversial move, this time by the Pope himself, took place at the end of November. Namely, when the Germans occupied Poland, Pius XII decided to expand Splett's authority . He appointed him apostolic administrator of the Chełmno diocese.
The combination of the bishop's authority over the Polish diocese and the structures of the recently Free City of Gdańsk had serious diplomatic consequences. The Polish delegation to the Vatican argued that the decision would make a disastrous impression on the Polish nation.

I've also noticed that the protestant church has been becoming a "popular" arm of Christianity; in Poland too.

But have you ever wondered why? The main reason is that Protestants think that just pure "faith" will save them from hell.

Translation: we can do as we please, don't have to do any good deeds, the 10 commandments don't apply to us, and we can sin as much as we can, but if we "believe" in God, He doesn't mind us living in line with satan and He will always forgive us. It is a devastating mockery of God and faith. Do they really think God is so naive? The bible has dozens of warnings about such "faith."

If you "believe" in something in real life, you don't contradict it in your actions. If you "believe" vegan diet is good for you, you don't eat meat every day. But that's what Protestants do.

we can do as we please..

Oops, is it true??? I think I haven`t heard such a radical interpretation of protestantism.
