Guys, you won`t believe it - the latest discovery is that Diego isn`t Diego in fact. We eventually took the kitten to the vet for a check up and it turned out it is a female. Excellent - in this way we are going to relive our old cat ownerships. My first cat in 1992 was a black female called Grace, then her black daughter.

Diego has been renamed Czarnusia, Nusia for short.

Who the hell give you the right to rename my favorite kitty? First, you seek consul, who is me, Diego's protector from the very beginning. Now you are hurting poor kitty again, giving her such a common name. So as almost the rightful owner, I rename her Midnight or, better yet, Black Peral. Yeah, that's the dignified name; I approve.

hahaha the cat is located in Poland so she needs a Polish name. Midnight sounds silly for a name. I like that Black Pearl but it is too long, nobody would use both words, so calling her only Pearl would entail the loss of an important feature. Czarnusia is the best right now. Who told you it is common? I had dozens of animals and none was called like that. One black tomcat I had as a boy was called Murzyn.

boy was called Murzyn.

Let us not argue your lack of imagination; you are forgiven. Should I forgive your hypocrisy at the same time? Yeah, hypocrisy, think, minutes ago you preaching that Midnight should have a Polish sounding name, while previously you called her Diego, which sound Polish, like a cowboy "Sasza z ruskiej prerii"

Anyway, take good care of my kitty (Black Diamond), and tell her I love her, always::))

I forgive you your ignorance about the usage of Diego in the Polish language coz you lost real contact with it long ago. Focusing solely on the Polish literature from 19th century and exploiting that old style in the forum certainly contributes to your lack of awareness that Diego has been heavily rooted in the Polish language due to various heroes or celebrities who bear/bore that first name and who have been widely known here.

Whereas, Midnight or Black Pearl are still pure English words so stop persuading me to use them coz it would sound really foolish. Do you want to pass for a fool? Certainly not.

Of course not. I see your dementia is even bigger than Trump`s. :):) I didn`t call any cat Diego, it was my student`s choice and I simply accepted it for granted coz respecting students is one of my priorities in education.

My student called him Diego .

See???

I remember that line from my early years: X and sprawa polska, where X could be anything. So now it's cats and sprawa polska.

My experience is that cat people are better people.

BTW, I don't like dogs and I hate Pitbulls. The only thing I hate even more is their owners.

We live in desperate times. One should cut his emotional ties with his pets. Pets are food. Cats, too.

Take me. I love my Guinea pig. But, when look at him in the context of pandemic apocalypse, I see just a little pig. Small quantity of pork.

Dobri Zanko, say us, you must be total Bulgarian or live as convinced to be a Croatian?

See, you didn`t understand my remark on cats and pets. I just looking on it from the apocalyptic angle. Its this grim era we live in. One may love them but, they are food basically. I just wanted to say that. They who have cats aren`t more crazy then I who have Guinea pig. Actually, they are in better position when come to eating their pats. One cat is much more meat then one Guinea pig, no matter its essentially a pork. Don`t be confused with that `pig`. Its kind of tiny pig. Very.

Exactly, dogs stink while cats have adorable fragrance. Countryside cats have stronger fragrance which is still very attractive to me.

Each of the cats we have ever had was different than others. Nusia displays some unusual characteristics too. I already told you she can`t meow. Another one is her voracity - she doesn`t eat food like a well mannered cat, she devours it like a piranha or a shark. She is three times faster than two other cats coz she doesn`t chew big chunks, only swallows them whole. Amazing.

I also don't like snakes. Just watched a video with a fearless cat defending her two little ones from a python.

Don`t be so cruel. Snakes are also God`s creatures. Look at her - isn`t she beautiful? And her belly is checkered black and white. What immortal hand or eye, dared frame her fearful symmetry?

she can`t meow.

That's strange, maybe she will develop it later on.

only swallows them whole

Hopefully she won't move on to non-food items........

isn`t she beautiful?

Yes, I have always liked snakes :)

maybe she will develop it later on.

It is probably some mental disfunction. The only sounds which resemble meow is when sb accidentaly trods on her in the kitchen.

Also, she doesn`t purr. But instead, when fancying caressing and stroking, she jumps onto my desk and performs a sort of step dance - I scratch her delicately and she dances. She is so funny - I can`t stop laughing whenever I see her. Getting that cat was 10.

snakes :)

Which are warm and dry and velvety, not cold and slippery.

Hopefully she won't move on to non-food items........

She eats strange things for a cat - e.g, cakes. My wife realised she mustn`t leave any newly baked cake on the kitchen table in fear of being devoured by the cat. I once played a joke on her and offered her a thick piece of cabbage from gołąbki - she wanted to eat it! She would if I didn`t take it away.

Snakes are also God`s creatures.

God created cats and all other four-legged furry creatures. Everything else was Satan's project.

Everything else was Satan's project.

Yes, also cows coz they can transfer mad cow disease onto us. And bulls too coz they are used in corrida which is a good reason for human participants of it to go straight to hell for useless torturing and killing innocent animals.

I always root for the bulls.
And against hunters. Especially the fat ones.

Stick to the topic please

You have one strange cat!

Cats will definitely eat all sorts. There is a feral cat that I have been feeding that comes into my garden and he likes cakes too. I found this out the hard way as I had placed a sponge cake outside my back door to cool on a baking rack. I caught the cat tucking into it.

Yes, but it only adds to the general fun we have with her.

The whole situation with our cats reminds me of a popular cartoon series about young tomcat Filemon and old experienced, even jaded tomcat Bonifacy who, between his numerous naps, explains the world to Filemon.

Ptak, you asked about Nusia. She is OK, much bigger now but still smaller than her mates. As I already mentioned, she doesn`t meow or purr, only hisses. My kids complain that she is broken. :):)

I also said she devours everything - today, she peeked into a box of dried walnuts and scoffed down a few. Just look at her.

All our cats are incorrigible beggars - it is enough sb goes to the kitchen and they follow immediately.

When we have a barbecue, cats get their share too. Even earlier than human owners.
