- Some are, some aren't, just like we Poles are (and aren't). Actually, the Black people I've met in North America and Europe were mostly cool. One of the best was a big cop someplace in Canada with whom I used to sip coffee at Starbucks and chat. A very fine good-hearted man. There are Black fanatics, racists and fascists, and I personally dislike them just as I do any other fanatics, racists and fascists. I'd say that, on the average, Black people in UK are OK towards us Poles. But there are also cases of those who aren't.

People with other colour of skin have different opinion but white people from west decided : Poles are racist. Some think it is good some think it is bad. Grzegorz only one Pole on last pages is great example for them. He is worst than other racist because he is inteligent. Polish racist are the worst. I think Grzegorz hasn't seen any black person in his life (maybe once) and when he will met one will just stare like other other noNazi people

One of our students on a trip to Krakow was a very pretty British Asian girl,muslim in head scarfe, she got stared at all the time in Poland then Czech republic.It took her a few days to realise it wasnt hate or rascism ,just curiosity.Where she lives she is one of hundreds if not thousands and here in yorkshire you dont tend to blink seeing "unusual" national costumes,even the Coptic preist doesnt get stared at and he looks like a baddie from a horror movie or star wars :)

There are Chinese who are racists and there are Chinese who are not. There are Vietnamese who are racist and others who are not. I can go on but you get the picture. To group a dozen or more people who were racist to you and believe them to be a whole nation of people, this must make your world very simple but also pretty overwhelming? Do you take pills for that? I agree. I get stared at in Krakow but I don't think that staring is being racist. I like the fact that we're all different. I love the variety, the differences, without that, life would be pretty dull. There's nothing wrong with being proud and identifying with your roots but that can be done without persecuting others who are not the same. Live and let live.

I only read the first page of this thread, and from my experience while living here for six months, I've seen wayyyy to much racism. Ridiculous.

Yeah Brapp Gays are hated in Poland...even though there are as many here as anywhere else...they are indoctrinated into the "it is a psychiatric disease" philosophy. The only reason you don't see more discrimination is because they can and often do hide it...you cannot hide skin color.

I get the feeling talking to Polish men that they somehow feel threatened by gays...they get all macho and rag on them non stop.

Poland havent robbed half of Africa, Poland haven't slavery past. Instead of sending winter jackets to Africa you should open your market on their goods and competite nad give them work there. YOU HAVE PROBLEM not we. It is not about race etc... in most of EU countries imigration policy failed. some people just don't want to have this problems in Poland.

I think we have the same amount of nationalists like in western countries but when there is small amount of people of other races they can feel that it is hostile country. It is because somebody can be first arab in town.

I never sent a jacket to Africa...and you watch too much TV if you think people rob because they are black. Your talk smacks of someone that has never been to the places they speak of. The biggest nationalistic talkers have never left Poland and they imagine they have some real sense of how the world is living. I live in Poland and see first hand how the things you deny are.

western Europe is rich because they robbed southern America, Africa and Asia ... Poland haven't done it. That is all I wanted to say. You are not racist so open your market for African goods and don't make form them beggers. Look on Poland I don't have to emigrate anywhere ... some do it but it is not because they are hungry.

Poles do immigrate because they can make much more money than here....it is a fact...that is why there is a national effort to retain professionals and skilled workers...they have left/are leaving en masse.

Open your market for goods from Africa and you will have in UK/France/Germany people who really love your culture history traditions. Poland feel more open on Ukraine and it is easy to understand. It is not racism that Poles prefere imigrants form Ukraine than form more decent countries they assimilate better that is all. I don't think that it was eccident that Itlay has opened their market for Romianians and Brits for Poles ... it wasn't racism.

What I want to add, If we are going to take imigrants form decent countries we should treat them equal. If they are here and are needed Brits solutions are better than French. Decison if we are going to do it will be made by this government and it looks like we are going to have China towns here. Personaly i prefere Ukrainians and Georgians (for people form USA it is country near Russia).
