My wife's making "kluski z makiem plus grzadki ze cybulkami, koperem i kinkami" (noodles with honey and strained poppy seeds as well as beets with onions, dill and caraway seeds) along with the main dish, probably kielbasa of some variety:-)

And we don't even celebrate the holiday, but I've bitten her with the Polish bug!

Merry X-mass

You took Christ out of Christmas.
I mean...."It is His Birthday."

Isnt the Christmas tree actually a symbol for Nimrod?

We are talking about Christ's birthday, not Christmas trees.

I should have explained to like I am talking to a 5 year old.Sorry.

There isnt any proof Jesus was born on Dec 25th. Evidence of King Nimrod`s death being celebrated on this day with a tree is factual.

I should have explained it like I was talking to a 3 year old.

There isnt any proof Jesus was born on Dec 25th.

Yes Jester, that has already been debated last year here and is cut and dry.
So show me where I said that Jesus Christ was born on December 25th.
That has NOTHING to do with leaving Christ out of Christmas and is totally a different topic.
Now quit projecting lies that I did to start conflict here.
Go back and look the last week here, we all get along so nicely when you aren't here picking fights.
Christmas is a time of 'Good Will towards Men', not to seek attention for yourself.

The date is symbolic not meant to be taken literally. I'm not even a Christian and I know that....

Don't tell me you're an atheist, Maf!

My pat answer used to be: "I'm an atheist in the practising agnostic sense of the word." It worked very well to kill the subject and stop questions.

Basically I have no capacity for religious faith, but I do realize that a society with a (moderate) amount of religious observance is better off than one with none...

I'm not trying to create an argument just saying other ppl have used Jesus to glorify themselves. The pine tree is a pagan symbol and a fire hazard as well.

Ok ok. So who has a Carp in their bathtub? I bet Bozobo does😆
It must be a different type of Carp in Europe? These fish are considered bottom feeders in the US and nobody eats them except poor ppl down in Mississippi.

just saying other ppl have used Jesus to glorify themselves.

I glorify Jesus first and foremost before everybody and everything as He is the God of gods and the King of kings.
Hopefully the unbelievers will accept this before Judgement Day comes where EVERY knee shall bow before Him.
I have never understood why those who do not believe in Jesus celebrate His birthday. :-/

Very few people do that now. Carp is a lot less popular than in the days when there was less choice.

I've been to a few Wigila and had some delicious white fish, I think it was Cod. Along with different types of vegetarian pierogis and zupa.

I imagine, everything is the same in Poland.

It hasnt snowed once this season over here:)

You show your ignorance yet again!!!!!
My God, you are one very dumb SOAB!

Everyone believes in Jesus....the evidence of his existence is clear.
It is just that many of us do not believe that he was the son of God.

Also, how would you feel if it was proved that he was black?

You took Christ out of Christmas.

X is Greek and is the abbreviation for Christ. When I was a kid we had a big cardboard box with 'Xmas Decorations' inscribed in my mother's handwriting :) also people would write it in recipes - Xmas cake/pudding etc. Nobody would say Merry Xmas though. As I say it was mostly used as an abbreviation when writing. Sometimes people would write it in Christmas cards or gift tags where there was little space.

@Maf,
"When fear came a-knocking, faith answered the door but there was nobody home."
I agree with you, although I always wondered what a practicing Agnostic actually is, considering a practicing atheist means to believe in something which doesn't believe

in anything!

At least the former leaves room for doubt.

Sorry, A Very Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year to You!

Don't be sorry as it was my intention to get the non-Believers focused on what Christmas is really all about, Cojestdocholery.
Family, peace on earth, celebrating the birth of Christ Jesus.
Jesus is the reason for the season, not just filling your cakehole with chow, booze and watching football on t.v.
Merry Christmas to you and yours too.
See you at mid-night mass.
