3 reasons why you hate Poland.

I hate Poland because they steal mail.
My mom sent pictures of my children to my aunt 4 weeks ago and she never got them. There was no money in the envelope, just a letter and pictures. But stupid Poles see a letter from America and think there is money in it and steal it.

I work for the US Goverment Postal system and if someone got caught stealing mail - their life would be over, but in poland they keep getting away with this.

I've heard such stories too. They are generally the hard-done-by types.

That's the way of the teacher :) I'm never at a loss at tea parties or dinners :) Many have that skill and it's a strength.

Not sure where your from, but where my family is from (mazuri), I notice alot of people using the term "Zyd", as an expression for someone who is dishonest and sly. grafiti is also pretty common around there, I can basicaly boil the "message" down to this: All jews out of poland, Poland out of the EU, God Honour Country. Often accomponying these slogans are crosses with a circle around them.

There will always be such people. The Jews were said to be dishonest in business here but it's not like there are no cheats here either. The scale of the problem isn't that wide.

Yeah, I know there will always be some prejudice, but some of the stuff that flies in Poland... well, lets just say that if I said it here in norway then people would react.

Because in your opinion they should be a synonym of massive cricket lovers or something?

No smoke without a fire.

I can basicaly boil the "message" down to this: All jews out of poland, Poland out of the EU, God Honour Country.

Make an inventory of your other personal skills because boiling messages is not your strongest suit.

Do you even know Polish to understand what is written on the wall?

if I said it here in norway then people would react.

Different countries - different sensibilities. Apples and oranges.

The Poles are a notoriously sensitive people, but not without good reason. They are alright even if they are not perfect.

Even registered letter (polecone). I have such situations a few times that very important letters from city office (urad) did not come to my house in Warsaw. It was 2 and 3 yeas ago. I disapointed polish postal manner.

Bzibzioh:
I like to think the word means a person of the jewish faith, or of jewish ancestry.

I've seen enough of the same slogans around to say that theres a pattern, and yeah I can read polish well enough to understand some neo-nazi grafiti.

Gaa:
I've seen racist grafiti in norway, but I have never seen any anti-polish ones.

Norway is not perfect either, there are fascist, extreme-right and neo-nazi groups here, but I was thinking about words that people use in everyday speech.

Hilarious :)

However, some of them are just too scary and depressing to be "loved" by anyone...

Commie blocks

By the way - that Norilsk city looks like a great place to go! Looks like I've found
my next holiday destination. Krasnoyarsk Krai - here I come!

Damn it, looks like I'm not going...

In 2001, Norilsk was decreed a closed city for foreigners (except citizens of Belarus)

Funny, I really don't see much anti-Semitism here

As a Jewish person, I have not really noticed much either. I'm not really active, Jewishly-speaking, here but hope to become so soon and so may notice more then. But my initial impression is that, among young people at least, they either don't care or are deeply interested in Poland's Jewish past.

Rogalski, we have a bicycle shop in Philadelphia, in my old neighborhood, 'Rogalsk's Bicycle Sales'...It's been there for over 50 years...Same spot, same shop...I once bought a bike there...A Schwinn...Just some Philadelphia history for you...It's on Tacony Street, off of Orthodox Street...Still going strong...Your relatives perhaps?

If I can get away with turning up with inheritance papers and claiming I was robbed just after WWII then yes, they're my relatives ... :-)

OK...You know bicycle sales AND prices have gone through the roof over the past decade in the US...Everything 'green', you know?....But bikes are a great thing...Now, Rogalski's kind of limped along for many years, but I think one of the younger family members took over, and with the advent of 'mountain bikes' and such, turned the business around and modernized it.

You love it and that's why you are in Manchester, right? Chump! What's wrong with the Polish police? They have to be tough due to the moronic nature of some folk here. What do you expect them to be, pansies? I know some Polish police and I don't appreciate folk bashing them.

Only idiots think that all footie fans are hooligans.

Fake celebs? What?

You love rudeness is how I read between the lines! You really are a twat, aren't you lad?

This chap sounds like he is one of these "jebać Policje" shouters.. "fighting the police, and all the people and media" young rebel attitude..

We have many such people in Scotland too, frd. The Japanese have the right idea, they treat the police as social helpers and often call them o-mawarisan. Anything with 'o' or 'go' is keigo/respect language.

I wonder how such fools like him get employed.

Some people love them

they love them, because they never lived in one of them. its really nice to support something when you have no idea what it really is (think about morons with che or sickle&hammer on their t-shirts)

I think they have one face for work and another for a debate. Many such people? I take it that some kids are just going through the rebellious stage and they have to focus their "hate against the world" on something hence all the police bashing by stupid hooligans, hiphop and rap listeners who basically are too young and stupid to appreciate what police is doing - they all go mental about getting their id checked by the police or a small fine for drinking in public places and then write hip hop songs about it and about how badly police treated them, all of it a load of bollocks and I hope most of them will grow up...

They don't understand the need for the enforcement function of the law. I dislike the hooded types here, they are such a waste of space. You seem them milling around doing nothing productive. The same can be seen in Scottish 'hoods'. Hoods in the hood, LOL.

Oh no. Im not one of those people. I've lived in Poland and England. And i can see the difference in Polices' behaviour. Why should normal fans be treated like **** at away games ? Because that's how we are treated by the Police in Poland. I'm not a hooligan but I'm treated like one. In England the police is more understandable and helpful. Of course there are some nice Policemen/women in Poland but its a minority. That comment when you called me a twat just shows how you judge people that you dont even know. Shows the level of your inteligence and how narrow minded you are.

Oh no. Im not one of those people.

Why do you think football games in uk are more peacefull, because police were strict and fast to react and that's what we need, I'd say Polish police should be more violent and more aggresive against these punk who come to football matches. It's a laugh how there's a few 100 hooligans destroying cars and beating each other and after the game there's a police announcement how they have cought 4 and all of them will have to pay fines.. come on I want to see all of them beaten to a pulp in the back of a police car, and a complete ban for going to football mathes for them.

And sorry Cracovia but you've filled a gap here, police wouldn't be doing stuff like that without a reason. I've seen my city being demolished or innocent bystanders getting attacked too many times. I also never heard any police hating from people who are decent football fans.
