which is why tourists visit the 7's, 8's, 9's and 10's instead.

Fair enough. I don`t mind. I even prefer it like that.:):):)

Compare the beaches:

Poland:

Mediteranean:

I have nothing against the chilly waters of the Baltic Sea.

However, I do mind being touched by sweaty fat bodies of other beach goers. :):):):)

My rating is still 8/10.

trust me, you along with the others you speak of boycott trips to the USA for other reasons.

Eh no we don't Fuzzy.

Who is paranoid now? I happened to like going to the states but I won't be subjected to fingerprinting, retina scans etc.

Simple as.

Yeah, our airport security is way over-the-top.

As a frequent visitor to Poland, I offer the following:

Quality of Life: as a visitor it's a 10/10--I drink decent beer, it's quiet, slower paced, and the in-laws pay for just about everything.

Food: 9/10, although I agree it has a general lack of imagination, I'm a sucker for smoked meats and cheeses plus bigos really hits the spot.

Culture/People: 8/10--the people are fantastic and the fact that Polish culture has survived partitions and the like and still survives speaks to its richness.

It's the the standard of living (wages:cost) that keeps me, the Polish wife, and kids in my beloved USA.

Compare the beaches:

Mediterranean sea apart from being the womb of western civilization knows also how to be chilly and empty. But on 6. of October. Water T = 22 C.

I liked the wilderness and winds of the North and Baltic sea I had pleasure to see, but Mediterranean sea has more faces to show.

The warm one and the wild one.

So, careful.... ;)

my wife's entire family was just here in the summer. no problems and they don't even speak english. in and out. fingerprinting takes a few seconds on an electronic device. you're blowing it totally out of proportion which is why I am sure you have other reasons for not wanting to come. I've seen the entire process many times with my wife, watching her go through the line at the airport, it's no big deal and hardly a reason to boycott a country completely.

get over it.

-Quality of life 7/10 (if you are at least middle class and have a steady job)

-Polish culture and people 9/10

-Food 6/10 (I prefer Chinese, Italian, been eating this food for too long so it becomes a bit "bland").

Those who say the baltic is not as good as the meditteranean are out of their mind

I am insane, no doubt.

So, I really liked the Baltic sea. I saw it in January. North sea I saw, touched and was blown away by the strength of the wind at the end of one August. Wonders. Truly.

But, perhaps the number of Northerners (British, Germans) who replace the North seas with Spanish, Italian, Greek coast, colonizing the Mediterranean areas still says something.

Prosaists and poets who decided to change the cold North with (missing an adjective here) Mediterranean , to live there or were frequent travelers who's journeys ended always with olive trees and Mediterranean blueness were also insane: Lord Byron who lived in Greece, Browning, Ruskin, Forster, D. H. Lawrence, Henry James,Tomas Mann, Henry Miller who wrote his best novel inspired by Corfu where he was invited by Lawrence Durrell who lived there, Joyce who lived more than a decade on Northern Adriatic, in Trieste... list is endless.

That is just a head of the list of those who don't know the difference.

I don't doubt that it's a speedy and relatively hassle free process - it is not the point though. It's invasive and I refuse to be treated like a criminal.

I. DON'T.

What's wrong with you? I have nothing against the US & I don't know why you are assuming I have ?!

I have enjoyed my trips there and there are still places I would have liked to have seen & experienced. I won't lose sleep over it though as there are plenty of other interesting destinations on the planet too.

hardly a reason to boycott a country

Well for me and many others - it is. Maybe you should in fact "get over" this simple fact : )

You don`t understand a point of Alllie , those poets and writers don`t come from south of Europe , is that right ? Why would they come to Poland - to meet the same climate and similar landscape ? The contrast between North and South was the main factor which attracted them . I personally don`t like southern climate and it doesnt attract me .

We didn't see that frequent fascination by contrasts when it comes to Italian, Greek or Spanish writers, painters, sculptors, etc.
I don't think it is contrast itself, but the breathtaking beauty and history of Mediterranean area.

I truly appreciated the beauty of Baltic and North sea, and I understand that people from the North are adjusted to its climate, and prefer it.

I don't think I was understood right, my english perhaps, but Mediterranean sea belongs to some other genre. It is not the landscape. It is the beginning. Ab ovo.

precisely. it's simple. people don't go to poland for a reason. and no, the however many germans that come in for a few days in the western cities of Poland to see where their grandparents lived.

You must be one of them , but definitely you are just one small Poland`s hater .

Everything is 10 in Poland except for the food.As a slavic country it easily gets a 10 for culture and people and life quality is at decent levels. You also see the widespread beauty which is a charm for the eyes.I also like that it is flat a contrast to our mountainous terrain.

Mediterranean , to live there or were frequent travelers who's journeys ended always with olive trees and Mediterranean blueness

Mediteranean cannot be compared. If you saw today the sunny weather and the perfect atmosphere in Athens you would understand why all geniuses of the past prefered to live here.Attica sky is considered to be the best and brightest in the world.

The polish coastline cannot be compared to the Italian or Greek coastline . Both seashores are beautiful in their OWN , UNIQUE way .

The Baltic and Mediterranean are two different bodies of water , with two different climates. Whoever says the Baltic is not as nice a vacation spot as the Mediterranean have obviously never been to the Baltic on a nice warm summer day. The scenery is absolutely stunning and the water is crystal clear. Poland does a very good job in maintaining the coastline and therefore summer vacations on the polish seashore are always an enjoyable , beautiful , pleasant and CLEAN experience.

To those who oppose of Poland being an equally beautiful vacation spot as other European countries don't know what their saying . People should actually take the time to travel around some of Poland , and then you'll really rethink your outlandish comments that " Poland cannot compare to France " or that " Krakow cannot compare to Prague " because yes Poland can compare to France and yes Poland can compare to Prague. Europe is a very diverse continent with 50 independent countries with DIFFERENT backgrounds and histories . The architecture and landscapes change from country to country. Poland is an extremely breathtaking country with many diverse and beautiful landscapes and medieval towns. The people here are extremely friendly and the food is delicious . Of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I am not forcing anyone to adore Poland but play fair and don't say that Poland cannot compare with other European countries because it most deffinatley can. Poland is one of the last remaining countries that harbors such a diverse population of wildlife and rich landscapes. Many people have fallen in love with Poland and keep on falling in love with this beautiful country.

Turkey has 4 sea ,Mediterranean,Black sea,Aegean sea, marmara sea. I dont like Mediterranean sea, its too hot water and salty and not delicious fish. Balck sea is too dirty and wild waves not good for swim. Marmara also dirty but most delicious fish I dont know why. But Aegean ITS IS THE BEST realy, clean, delicious sea food, water between cold and warm windy at night and nice natures forests and flora and spirit realy its the best and aegean food realy so nice if you like sea food must to try mostley greek orgin but mixed with Turkish food so delisious. In poland I see many travel agency reklam about Turkey ,Kuşadası(in aegea area but doesnt have nature just building and bars),Antalya,Alanya please dont go over there just too hot too strong sun, very hot sea water, diskos, beaches and big hotelsand cheap quality worker and people who bothers tourist ,seasons worker they came from other cities for season work, its noting interesting in there. I tell you realy good place feel relax and for good vacation and not expencive like Mediterranean area, and nice people . Bozcaada, Alacati, and Asos, they are north aegean area cheap, good quality and very pleasant holiday. About Baltic sea I seen pictures looks so beautiful I like northern seas, but sea food importent baltic has what and they are delicious?

South and North Poles are very cold. You are the opposite of them so you are a Polish Natural Born Immigrant.
