Life in Poland - ECONOMY

That's good news, but the question is - are the factories Polish or foreign? In Mexico, there's a lot of manufacturing activities, but the factories are mostly not Mexico-owned. They can move at any time to a cheaper country, like Ukraine.

They can move at any time to a cheaper country, like Ukraine.

20 years ago many were foreign owned - German and Dutch especially

But these days Polish ownership of manufacturing is quite high and there is a good entrepreneurial culture here - far more so than in Czech and Hungary.

I will look it up but my guess is circa 50 percent is in Polish hands

Romania will be a challenge to Polish manufacturing but the wage difference is shrinking quickly and it won't make sense to move existing production there.

Other than that, nobody is going to move outside the EU especially as the close options are politically going in the wrong direction - Turkey, Belarus, Serbia, Egypt etc.
