Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland?

12 pages of "Turtleneck-Or-No-Turtleneck"? Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick. I lost mine in the living room of my house, three days after I was born. They poured some Manischevitz wine onto a cotton ball and had me suck the wine out. The rabbi said his thing, my mom handed me in a blanket to the moyel, the moyel made with the snip-snip, and bandaged me up. Everyone gave a round of applause, they passed me around the room, every aunt and uncle holding me aloft like Simba in the The Lion King, and then everyone had cake. My tallywacker has never looked back. End of story.

then for a guy forever to spend his life having to justify why he hasn't got what he was given .

i don't have it and i've never had to justify it to anyone. where i'm from, i'd have to more so explain why I did have it. american girls don't like it.

I was really meaning those who feel the need to explain on here why they haven't got it ... because it seems they can't just say 'ok, in the States it is widely practised, but not in Europe, which is cool ... their choice' - rather there seems this (almost desperate) need to make everyone agree that circumcision is the best thing, and that anyone who doesn't have it done is an idiot. That's the bit I don't get.

Why is it not practised in Poland? Because they don't like the idea, and they don't have it culturally ingrained.
It isn't practised in lots of European countries.
It is practised in the States largely because of cultural influences.
It used to be practised in the UK, especially during and just after the war, because of cleanliness issues re: hot running water, etc, and particularly in poorer areas (eg, the mining village in Yorkshire where my father was born) ... but now that we all have lots of hot water, it is considered unnecessary and has died out to the point of largely being seen as an unthinkable act.

american girls don't like it

Could that be because they have not experienced the natural version?

Dodgefan, you are getting yourself very worked up about this. You are adamant that you are right. You think anybody who thinks otherwise has absolutely no grounds whatsoever for their opinion.

innit.

Why does this forum attract so many weirdos?

If he's gay, then fair enough. But if he's not - why on earth does he spend so much time discussing other guy's c*cks online?? weirdo.

Dodgefan07: "Jumpin Jesus On A Pogo Stick" is a phrase made famous by the band the Dead Milkmen. Your long, rambling, incoherent PM vis-a-vis my saying it and your offence to it was weird and misplaced. I don't know what you were talking about, I haven't read the rest of this thread, and I really don't have a dog in the fight, even though you think I must, being that I'm Jewish. I just thought it was funny that this thread has gone on for 12 pages, and I thought I'd add my "circumcision story". I'm gonna need you to calm down, okay.

Could that be because they have not experienced the natural version?

i'm sure many of them haven't because it's pretty uncommon, but generally they don't like it for aesthetic reasons.

and I thought I'd add my "circumcision story"

yeah, because it was truly unique.

Yeah, right. women say no to cock depending on the amount of foreskin.

Circumcised men are a sad bunch, maybe I'll have the chop to see the difference, maybe not. I least I have the choice and know what feels to be complete.

Never been the slightest bit tempted to find out, though.

yeah, because it was truly unique.

At least it was rational and adult attitude to a ridiculous discusssion.

how do you know? isn't that a bit of a generalization? there are a lot of women in america ...

Is this thread a friggin troll or are there really Americans this inward looking and naive?? I though it was a lazy stereotype.

Get this: aside from religious reasons (islam & judaism) there is NO COUNTRY where circumcision is routine as it is in the US. NOT ONE.

YOU LOT are the unusual ones you tiny minded fools! Why can't Amercians understand?

Only Australia comes close in the prevalence of circumcision and even there its about 50/50. Canada next probably but as for EVERYWHERE ELSE? apart from jews and muslims? Circmcision is not, I repreat not the norm. Not even close to the norm. Not anywhere.

Some countries are close to zero rates - those Scandinavains well known for healthy clean living etc? Doesn't represesnt a hygiene issue for them obviously as hardly any of them have been circumcised.

As for American girls preferring or whatever? it's what they know, that's all. That and a tiny narrow mind obviously.
how do you know? quote]

maybe you'd find this interesting: Do you watch "Sex and the City"? Season 2, Episode 9 (just checked it on the google) addresses this very thing. taken from the episode summary:

".....When Charlotte decides her uncircumcised lover, restaurant critic Mike, looks like a sharpei below the belt, he decides to everyones surprise to get cut....."

One of the most succesful, if not most successful woman targeted TV series of all time (i was always amazed at how many polish woman/girls watched this show) discusses this very topic in the second season.

It gets talked about.

Ha!

Seriously, whats the next thread?

"Why can't I get gatorade in Laos?"

OR

"Why don't they take US$ on saturn?"

"Why don't they take US$ on saturn?"

because the little green men haven't been circumcised and therefore can't think properly, what with all that bacteria swimming around in their backwards brains.

One of the most succesful, if not most successful woman targeted TV series of all time (i was always amazed at how many polish woman/girls watched this show) discusses this very topic in the second season.

this is annoying me. I mean, what person with even 1% brain function would take Sex in the City as a guide to anything? (and Charlotte, of all little nambies, as an authority on dicks) ...

I know it is nonsense and I should stop even reading it, but ... one last go ... who gives a fxxk what they think in America? Is it the most important country in the world? I thought Poland was.

Alright further to my post above I'll admit there are a few countries - but almost without exception they are anomalies in an otherwise foreskin dominated zone e.g. Korea - V unusual for (non islam) Asian country to have a high incidence of circumcision, but it is a cultural trend introduced by the US military. Prior to that circumcision was rare so korea doesn't count.

Created by a Gay Jewish man.

right, because the whole show, line for line, year after year after year, was written by him and him only. nobody else's input. and boy oh boy, what would a wealthy gay guy know about dicks.

weak, man.

I'm gonna say this again and whatever snarky response you might have, it won't change this fact. You will simply have to get over this: American women don't like an unclipped schwantz. I'm not supporting it, I'm not disagreeing with it.....I'm saying it again because you all seem to have a hard time accepting it.

Now go ahead and provide all your reasons for this class.....but this fact will remain unchanged.

natasia wrote:

ask the hundreds of millions of women that absolutely LOVE the show. most women will tell you that aside from all the fancy clothing the women wear that they envy, they all can relate to the show. it's a woman overload and SO many of them will say "I can TOTALLY relate to that." But I think I'm telling you something you already knew. Oh, and this goes for american girls and polish girls alike.

besides, why are you even asking that? you questioned how I know, i brought it up to show how common it is to discuss circumcision among women.

focus, people. focus.

Eh its an American show, made for American women featuring the concerns and hang ups of upwardly mobile manhattan WASPS.

American women don't like an unclipped schwantz...

You say it like it means something.

Its very simple. They don't know any different. Nothing any deeper or more mysterious than that.

I'll warrant Japanese, Spanish, Danish...etc women prefer uncut.

So what?

keep the excuses comin' people. as predicted.

oh, and this is too easy, urbanlegend. As I've already stated, Polish women worship this show. I had classrooms full of girls that used to have Sex and the City parties. My Polish wife loves the show, all her friends did as well. Something tells me the SATC obsession among women is not limited to just the USA and Poland, too.

give it up.

I'm not saying it's not popular. Of course it is. Doesn't mean it's some kind of universal mirror for women though. Just like a rural farming soap on al jazeera says nothing to the average agri worker in Scotland.
FUZZYWICKETS 8 | 1,879

You say it like it means something.

nope. it's just something that needed repeating because posters keep trying to come up with excuses as to why.

Its very simple. They don't know any different. Nothing any deeper or more mysterious than that.

But they can go on the internet and see what it looks like, even see how it works mechanically, watch prn, etc. and see it for themselves. They all have done that at one time or another and the vast majority prefer it clipped.

Also, if what you say is true, it would also mean that all Polish women that have never been with a clipped guy, they like it unclipped only because "they don't know any different." it works both ways, keep that in mind.

Doesn't mean it's some kind of universal mirror for women though.

it also doesn't mean it's specifically geared towards rich american manhattanites either, which is EXACTLY what you just suggested. evidence would prove the exact opposite, that women all over the world love the show and reasons as to why should be pretty damn obvious. hint: it's not because they can't relate to the women on the show.

quit spinning your wheels here buddy and try and focus.

I mean what they know as in have experienced, what they are used to, what they are therefore comfortable with,

which is EXACTLY what you just suggested.

Its not. i gave it as an example as to why most women couldn't possibly relate to the show cos they're not all wealthy wasps. They may enjoy it immensely but do you really think it somes down to relating to the women? Aspire to, envy or admire or a few things but hardly relate. I think thats a very odd angle.
FUZZYWICKETS 8 | 1,879
3 May 2012 #352
Aspire to, envy or admire or a few things but hardly relate. I think thats a very odd angle.

the clothing and expensive dinners are just the background, the setting of the show to simply make it more appealing. the things that the show focuses on though are typical things women go through as young adults: dating, sex, social events, more dating, fighting with boyfriends, awkward moments, periods, babies, getting older and still not being married, permiscuity, travel, and everything else women struggle with and love to talk about when they go to the bathroom together. SATC over-dramatizes it all, it's a TV show after all, but the core of the show.....women simply relate and love to watch it. I've heard women discuss this show, in different countries for that matter, a thousand times.

think about it: why would a big shot TV guy create a show specifically targeted towards just women who live on a small island on the east coast of the USA, that only they could relate to? wouldn't you shoot for a larger demographic? and they did. and they were successful.

there's a reason for it.

Eh its an American show, made for American women featuring the concerns and hang ups of upwardly mobile manhattan WASPS.

yes, yes, yes.

I am not, for example, Charlotte, and nor would I react like her. And I think very very very differently to an American woman, on a host of very important details, I think. Not that this is about me ... but bloody hell, it's bad enough generalising that all women (or men for that matter) think the same, and then to say that all women think like American women, NO! NOT TRUE!

Fuzzywickets, you cannot tell me that I prefer (or would prefer) an uncut dick, because you are WRONG, and also completely unqualified to make that judgement.

You are not a woman. You are not a European.

(erm, just realised I am actually the only female in this discussion now ... ok ... so I have to stand up for our love rights or whatever it is ... and I did actually ask a few Polish female friends of mine their opinion, and they generally did NOT go for the circumcised option, so does that make them not women, or not American, or not normal, or what now? am totally confused ; )

Something tells me the SATC obsession among women is not limited to just the USA and Poland, too.

It was kind of funny once, but became very silly, and especially the films ... couldn't watch the last one as was too stupid. Sorry. I guess that also makes me not a woman. Oops. Well, glad nobody chopped the end of my dick off at least ...

ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I always think how horrible they look!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry, don't want to be mean ... but no, no, NO! YOU ARE WRONG!

'See it for themselves' - as if looked at something marvellous they would love to get their paws on, or their chops around!! No again!

'See how it works mechanically' - ie, how it DOESN'T work mechanically!!

Nope. No way. Utterly unconvinced by any of your arguments.

I know the answer...

me too - THANKFULLY.

I may not like Sex in the City, but at least i have the incomparable privilege of lying next to an entire male at night. Before this discussion, I hadn't considered quite how lucky I am - so thank you, Fuzzywickets, and Dodgefan, in particular, for highlighting that for me. : )

What would you know, Sex in the City is the Bible

omg yes sorry you are so right. i had better quickly see what they all think about circumcision and immediately feel the same. thanks. my life is so much easier and happier now. : D

Maybe I hadn't realised that Sex & the City was the Bible before because of the ill-effects on my brain of my extensive exposure to an uncut Polish male. Crikey. Yeah ... give me the censored, squeaky-clean US alternative ... i'll soon have my thinking in line then, for sure. Gee, thanks.

Ok, finally out of this morass of nonsense is emerging a new thread:

DOES REPEATED EXPOSURE TO POLISH MEN CHANGE THE CHARACTERS OF FOREIGN FEMALES?

I think it might do. Or maybe repeated exposure to nitwits on Polish Forums ...

and then to say that all women think like American women, NO! NOT TRUE!

NOBODY said that. what are you babbling on about. stop inventing posts that never occured. we cannot have a discussion if you keep doing that.

Fuzzywickets, you cannot tell me that I prefer (or would prefer) an uncut dick, because you are WRONG, and also completely unqualified to make that judgement.

are you for real? again, stop inventing posts that weren't ever written. I never wrote that all women prefer cut shweens. stop inventing ficticious posters and ficticious posts.

couldn't watch the last one as was too stupid.

NOBODY could watch the last one. all women thought it sucked.

I did actually ask a few Polish female friends of mine their opinion, and they generally did NOT go for the circumcised option, so does that make them not women, or not American, or not normal, or what now? am totally confused ; )

not that your little poll you just took would be indicitive of Polish women's actual opinion whatsoever but it actually has nothing to do with what I've been posting recently. I've been talking about what American women prefer....so why are you telling me what your Polish friends prefer? I seriously just don't get you.

No, of course not - not like the accuracy of your views on how the whole of American womanhood prefers the look of a circumcised male, and lives according to Sex in the City ...

You cant tell and asthetically they dont look that different when hard...

Not sure what sex in the city has to do with all this...I watched it for years and it didnt sway me either way...iit all depends on the penis I suppose some look horrid some look nice and that goes for both cut and uncut..
