I am going to post some Polish Rap songs tonight.
I know that Rap music is not very popular amongst members of this forum.
Hell, I am not a great fan of this genre either!
But it is HUGE in Poland.
It shows several things.
1.Black American Music has had a big influence on young Poles.
2.Young Poles are very patriotic,
3.Young Poles are very right wing.

I'll end with my two favourite tunes of this genre.
Grubson and Fisz Emade just kill me.....

@ Milo
Don't you think that song you posted, Tomek Kamiński - Bądź blisko mnie, is a direct rip off, tune wise, of Ben E. King's Stand by me?

@ Iron, thanks for the Kortez tune, he's got to be my favourite Polish artist at the moment :)

I like rock music, and I'm really struggling to find any new Polish music I like.
I used to listen to Troika, and they played new music - but PIS forced their best DJ out..and since this Brexit malarkey I have been listening to LBC talk ra d io.

Is there a Polish band in the E minor style of Barclay James Harvest?

@Ironside

I love your posts.
Great music!

@TheOther
Again, great posts.
SBB were unbelievable for their time.
Especially in Poland.

I just do not give out any details about myself on the internet

I understand that and you are right to be careful.

By the way - do you mean your close kin or some distant cousins?

No, close family.
Direct cousins.
My family history is complicated....... ;-)

Ten o tobie film - Tadeusz Nalepa "60 URODZINY"

Cant take my eyes off the chick in the leather mini skirt..:)

@T.O.
This band sounds kinda of groovy. Its too bad they don't make music like they used too.

Czesław Niemen was superb. I'm surprised you know him!

Im listening to it right now and love the guitar licks... its almost like jazz fusion:)

Excellent choices you guys!!

Did you know he repatriated from the USSR

No, I didn't, but now I've read the description underneath the video, and that explains it.

Jan Jozef Skrzek and "Sztajer".

Jan Skrzek was an amazing honky tonk piano player, played beautiful classical piano too, like his talented sibling. A very, very, very nice man - and the demon drink got him. Never to be forgotten by those who knew him. His brother was the embittered version, who famously compared SBB to Pink Floyd and Yes. Now - I like SBB a lot, but that's stretching things a tad....:):)

Do you really want it to die?
Because you are ruining it with your over control..... people will just stop posting here soon if you don't change your attitude.

Nice post.

Ewelina Lisowska - youtu.be/pb-I8Uxzmgk

Sylwia Grzeszczak - youtu.be/M5UqFj-uk78 / and Dernière Danse Different words but some parts of a melody sounds similar or is that just me? I take it is a coincidence if it similar at all.

I suppose someone already posted Maanam? Polish hotel discos in the 80s were a weird affair:) And Poland had some fine singers in the past.

Seen the workaholic TSA many times - and they were always just....superb

Polish progrock: Amaryllis, "12 Pavane".
Sounds a bit like Kansas. Technically excellent. I like the voice of the female singer.

Amaryllis

Like button pressed.
I would have liked it even more without the silly church organ sound effect on the singers' voice. Ruins a good song.

dypqqzXg700

Very 80s :) Which equates to a good tune IMO.

I have five tunes for you tonight.
All to varying degrees Folky,
But most leaning towards Folk influenced Metal.
This is more Folk than anyrhing else.
Greenood with "Ballada o czarnej smieci".... don't let the title put you off.....

youtu.be/00d8QKKWU3c

Next is Merfolk with "Dziady", this is not bad....

youtu.be/EOG4Mn1VKW8

I think this is better.
Eier with "Sobotka".

youtu.be/jc1iiXFq9rs

This is more Metal, but the Folk theme does slip in.
Othalan with "Omen".

youtu.be/N4t0wc1i3Jc

I will end with two songs from Netherfell.
First "Konik Zmok" and then "Ku Pladnym Ziemam".
