How would you describe the Polish sense of humour?

is clearly Polish in character-:)

Hmm, suddenly I got a bit uncertain. Complaining about the weather is more British hobby than Polish. Poles prefer to complain about their rightist rulers and their mad concepts and incompetence, for example.

I still have another idea - it could have been sth personal between those two guys and not connected with you. E..g, sb else had unjustly accused them of some wrongdoing before your meeting. It could be their boss who critisized Mirek for a badly printed document and it was unfair coz he wasn`t responsible for the faulty printer or the shortage of toner. The boss had said: What a lousy copy! So, when you mentioned lousy weather, they immediately recalled the situation in the office or wherever the printer was. :):)

Yeah, makes sense.

The simplest solution to your quest would be asking them about their outburst of laughter.

They explained, "No, to zart!" -:)

So now you need to elicit a more precise answer from them. What was the reason you thought it was a joke? You can justify your prying :):) with the desire to learn more about the fascinating Polish culture. :):)

I've discovered this guy lately and some of his videos (Polish only, sorry) crack me up lol Also, judging by the comments on Instagram many people find them relatable, because he's showing some typical behaviours in a funny way.

A frustrated Pole at a self-checkout in a supermarket xD:

"Dawaj do samoobsługowej, będzie szybciej."

"*Czy jesteś zadowolony*?"
"Tak." xD

"PESEL, numer buta" lol

"Możemy się z Panem zabrać?"

Something very Polish - cleaning the family graves before All Saints' Day xD:

"Po przerwie zetniemy tą brzozę... Liście tylko z tego lecą..." lol

"After the break we'll cut down that birch tree... Leaves are only falling from it..."

Casually snacking a naleśnik during a break cracked me up ;D

"Dawaj do samoobsługowej

Whenever possible, I avoid using self-service checkouts.

Earthy, deeply cynical and sardonic.

That's men.

Women have zero sense of humor...They take offense to the mildest of jokes and remember everything forever...like a military-grade hard drive...

I am not surprised that so many men go gay.

Poles can laugh at themselves.

Polish women have been marginalized to death in that country, so they get little defensive, plain nasty, at times.

Tell me you've never spent time in Poland without telling me.......

Oh, I have, Maf.
But most of my experience derives both from Polish cinema as well as having spent time in Greenpoint, along with reading about Poland, both in Polish, German, and in English

Oh, I have, Maf.

How many weeks?

Polish women can have it tough but so can men (in different ways) and they often learn that westerners want to think they are far more oppressed than they really are.

Nonetheless, although life has changed considerably since the early 9O's, there's that old saw, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

...that's not what my joints tell me every time I climb stairs.
