I have a 100,000 STO TYSIECY ZLOTYCH made in 1990 with Stanislaw Moniuszko on it and says Polska Rzeczpospolita Ludowa at the top. i was told by the person who gave it to me that it's no longer in circulation but i've read many contradictory things online. can anyone tell me whether this is worth anything or not? thanks
Basically, no. Even when it was in circulation, it had very little value because of inflation, and bills from that period have little collector's value.
I have 1) 1000000 ZLOTYCH 2) 100000 ZLOTYCH 2) 10000 ZLOTYCH AND MANY OTHERS ARE THEY WORTH ANYTHING ? THEY ARE FROM 1993 1998 1985 1986 1982 CAN I EXCHANGE THEM OR SELL THEM ?
FFS, look at some of the posts above. Or just search on Wikipedia where there are pictures. With denominations like that, they are old inflationary banknotes and not worth much.
You may now toss your hats into the air and run madly through the streets kissing strangers, jumping and clicking your heels together. I can't believe it!!!!!!
Geez! Why so much ignorance! The money is worth 0.00. How the h... can you expect a country to accept Polish communist money?????? Get a minimum informed before posting!
Nothing to do with being "communist", that money was "official" till 1995 and could be exchanged till 2000 (as far as I remember) but due to very high inflation in late 80's/early 90's it drastically lost its value hence in 1995 new money came in and 1 PLN was worth 10000 old zł. The old banknotes/coins could be worth something for collectors, especially If they are in very good condition (not seriously damaged) and If you are far away from Poland (in PL there's still a lot of them) where Polish money is a bit "exotic", then just try to sell it on your local e-bay or similar platform, there will be a chance to make a few $ selling it.
BTW I read an interview with a guy that is some kind of globetroter and he said when he's visiting some slums in Latin America or other dangerous places, he is stuffing his pockets with the old ZŁs and keeps the real money well hidden, that way he got already "robbed" quite a few times with morons running away with a couple thousand of old złs thinking they just stole a fortune.
Not really, it's worth exactly 1 grosz = 0.01 PLN. But it doesn't make any difference. You cannot even buy a box of matches for that. And as far as I know, they are no longer exchanged to the current złotys.

Exactly. It's value as an antic item is higher than as a money.
cool History... I was living in Germany during the conversion to the Euro and the passing of the Mark, so, I had already known the notes value was nothing.. just.. ran across a pile of polish bills.. added up to 19,770, 1988 pln's.. gonna add them to my Mark, Lire', Franc collection.. best I can make it, Dad might have gotten these from grandma after she passed.. and it would'a been late 1980's... was very cool to read these pages, an folks who also have come across such in their family..
All are wallet worn poor.. so.. but, they will make a nice display around grandma and grandpa's photo..
There is no 1000zl note. This means you have a banknote from the old currency which is worthless. Unless it's very old and historic. Who is in the picture on the banknote?
