Hi,

I am a volunteer who's been working in Ukraine for the past 6 months, I was my first time using public transport in Warsaw today while I am heading home to the UK, I thought it was possible to buy a ticket from the inspector but they gave me a fine instead, I took the 260 Zoloty ticket instead of paying 170 Zoloty on the spot.

It was a simple mistake that I didn't know, I was wondering if I DO NOT pay the fine, will it cause problems later at the airport when I try to come back into Poland?

A friend of mine got a ticket in Spain (for example) and never paid it and never caused him any problems.

Thanks

If cou can afford to be an unpaid volunteer for six months you should be able to afford a fine.

Pay it.

Thank you for your time and helpful advise especially regarding the actual question of it will cause issues at the airport

I have no interest in helping you avoid the consequences of your actions. You're welcome.

Yes depending on the mood of border control, you could be thrown in jail for up to 30 days.

It would be wiser to pay it. It's only about 45 quid sterling and better safe than sorry. It will be on the system as an outstanding fine for at least a year and up to six years (with interest, so the final amount to pay will be even higher). If you come back to Poland to live, work, volunteer you will still owe the money and the debt can even be given to a bailiff to recover.

@Atch
Thank you for your response, I just arrived at the airport I just asked at the boarder control officer that yes, if you don't pay in, I'm a few years it goes into the airport system and it will be brought up with you then.

Thanks for your quick and helpful response
