Parking fine with UK licence

Hi,

I drive my partners car in Poland with a UK licence. Today we left the car somewhere not knowing it was an offence to park there. Later we found a white slip telling us we need to pay for parking there.

Apparently, you get points for it also.

I wondered what happened in my case. I do live in Poland on a residence permit.

Has anyone been through this, is it just the fine ill have to pay?

Did you park in a handicap parking or in front of a fire hydrant??If yes then there are points to the owner of the car, until she can send a copy of your D/L and a letter that it was you who was driving/ or had parked.I dont know about UK license but once my wife got a speeding ticket via camera and I was let go as I was not in the pic and she dont have Polish d/l.She only has a US d/l & a International driving permit.
