Polish Cop Took My Car Registration :S

I dont know if anyone else mentioned this before but you can have all of your windows tinted. Rear passenger windows and rear window can be whatever you want, front side windows need cannot be tinted more than 30%, and you cant tint the front windshield. If you want to avoid problems in poland know the law.

Why in the name of all gods, did you have your windows tinted? You don't want to see too much outside while driving? The procedure is rediculous, no argument to that, but your car windows are too.

You can see through tinted glass? Its not a solid colour you know.

If its so ridiculous why do BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, Audi, VW, Honda, etc fit it as standard to a lot of their new vehicles?

You're not allowed window tint in Poland???? No way, I've never noticed but I think that's crazy. I love having my windows tinted!

You're only allowed to tint to a certain percentage, I think they do the same in Canada.

And the UK, Front window must let through 70% of the light although most cars come close to the limit standard, rear windows can be however dark you want.


I love it too, I don't like people looking at me while i'm driving :)

Does it really matter to you that much what I or any other car owners do with their cars? If it does- tough $hit. Get over it & stop worrying about what others do in their lives!

As for seeing the outside- us with tinted windows can do just fine thanks. We just don't care for everyone else to see us in our private space.

Sunglasses provide the same effect on a much smaller scale.

Maybe you should try it, you might like it. But then again you probably don't own a car & wouldn't understand.

So why do so many countries including the UK, US and Poland strictly regulate it?


Private space? Or a public road, driving a ton of metal with an engine.

A driver with tinted windows could be doing all sorts of things while driving and the police, whose job it is to protect the public from harm, would not be able to see.


In that case he probably doesn't want to get run over by a vodka swilling, blowjob getting, pot smoking, sandwich eating, lipstick applying, cellphone using driver, hidden behind darkened glass.


Fortunately lawmakers, judges and the police do.

I never apply lipstick while driving, tinted windows or not.

The fact of the matter is I have a nearly clean licence, no criminal convictions and never had an accident despite driving 30k + miles a year in a car with darkened windows (from the factory)

I'm sure you're a good safe driver, who doesn't chat on the cellphone or drink beer while at the wheel.

But should you change your mind, if you darkened your windows beyond the legal limit, who would know?

The way that you're going to try and **** off the police further rather than simply accpeting it is the hallmark sign of the crying whiner.

How do you know my case exactly? Prove to me with documented proof that if I want to live in Costa Rica, Bermuda, England, Japan, Botswana, Russia, Peru, Bulgaria, Libya, Thailand, that I can't. Your theory is about as solid as a wet toilet paper bag.

The fact of the matter is that I, and anyone owning a car, is allowed BY LAW to have their windows tinted and I intend to flex my rights to have such, unlike so many ppl in this country that accept mediocrity, corruption, and live in fear of the police.

Next time you drive 1km/h over the speed limit, fail to stop for someone in a zebra, j-walk or cross a zebra on a red light cuz you're in a hurry to walk somewhere-just remember you are just as guilty as me for having tint.

As I understand it, in Poland it is against the law to have non-factory-fitted modifications to a car where they can affect road safety, or tints over a certain level.

People, generally ********, boy racers and low level mafia do such things, but at their own risk, and liable to be fined if caught.

It's also illegal to have furry dice or rosaries.

You just don't get it, do you? You've already made an enemy out of one policeman, and you intend to rub it in his face? It's really not the smartest thing to do when they can easily find something else wrong with your car or your driving - after all, who is the Polish courts going to believe - the police or you?

It's simply naive at best and idiotically stupid at worst to believe that you'll come off best in any confrontation with the police when you don't have any right to be in Poland!

(incidentally, you must carry your passport by law - are you going to carry this around from now on, or are you simply going to demand the enforcement of laws that suit you? How very Polish....)

My car is 1 year old and in much better condition than 99% of the other POS's on the road. I race my car in TOR Poznan, like I previously said. When there is something wrong with it, I take it to the dealer and they check it/repair it if needed. Under warranty.

I only carry my PP when I'm going to be out of my city for a day or more. Who in their right mind would carry it everywhere they go? It's so easy to get picked by anyone or fall out of a pocket, then I will have bigger problems. I don't use a purse cuz I'm not a woman. And what business is it of yours if i carry it or not??

It hardly matters what it is if the police take a dislike to you. The car might be in accordance with all Polish laws - but who's going to win the argument if the police say they stopped you for driving dangerously? Certainly not you.


Do you have an EU passport? No? Then you don't have a right to be here. The Karta Pobytu can easily be revoked if the authorities so wish.


So in other words - you want the police to respect your right to tints by law, but at the same time, you want the police to ignore the law when it comes to carrying of valid travel identification? Good luck, sunshine. If you want to be pedantic about what the law says - then you can't have it both ways ;)

If I'm not allowed to be in PL, how come I have a Decision from the govt allowing me? I also have a work visa, ZUS payments, A business registered in the KRS, 6 bank accounts, KP, Pesel, NIP, REGON....

You still haven't provided any supporting documents about me not being able to live in other countries as well as PL.

let me remind you. There is a difference between allow and live. I am allowed to be in this country either by passing thru it or living in it. I am allowed to live in this country based on the Decyzja provided to me from the Federal Government. I am allowed to hire workers for my business.

I have every right to live here. They have given to me, albeit with a time restriction, which I must re-apply this year. Do you want me to scan in my Decyzja?

Listen....this topic was about my registration being taken by the cop. Simple. But somehow you've turned it into a debate about if I am permitted to live in PL or "be allowed"
