Polish Citizenship and Passport; "The child shall acquire Polish citizenship at birth when...)"

I was researching recently and I found this law recently that I am quite curious about.

According to the Polish Citizenship Act under Article 14, it states: "The child shall acquire Polish citizenship at birth when: 1) at least one of the parents has Polish citizenship"

Now I am born and raised outside of Poland but both my mother and father were born and raised in Poland and therefore would have citizenship. By this law of citizenship, would this make me a citizen of Poland? And therefore would I be eligible to get items such as a Polish passport and the such?

I am most curious about this and any help is appreciated :)

Yes you can and its pretty easy if you have the paperwork. With new law(Not so new) you will need an Polish Pesell(SS #,I dont know if you have in Canada)I would suggest get an Polish agent in Canada and pay them 500 or 1000 $ and wait, might take 6 mths as I heard lately now.I got my kids before 2004 in 3 weeks. After you get the positive decision for Citizenship confirmation you can apply for a Polish passport.

All can be done through the Polish Embassy/Consulate in Canada.

You got until age of 18 to confirm your citizenship. It can be looked away if you try to do it above age of 18 with enough convincing arguments tho. Knowing Polish would be an advantage
