I have conversation English in high schools near Wroclaw.

I watch many of my students prepare these cheat sheets in class. It is really amazing to me. When I was a student you never wanted to get caught cheating. Here they just don't care. Most of them tell me that as long as it's not for some major exam nothing will happen.

There are some teachers that take a harder line. I noticed that one of the teachers had all the crib sheets collected.

From what I saw the cheating rate is between 70-80% if not higher.

I went to Lviv in 2012. The trip into the Ukraine was not all that bad. It only took us a few hours to get across.

The trip back sucked. We were with in a 100 yards of the crossing and sat there for hours.

I was the only American on board with everyone else being Polish. My paperwork was done first and was returned pretty quickly.

If you can't get to the gate it's going to take time.

Impossible no, very difficult yes.

The big issue is that you need a work permit before you land in Poland. That means you have to have a job before going. You have to ask yourself why they would hire you over a polish person?

I have never visited the consulate in Chicago. However, they have always been very helpful with my work visas. A few times I cut it very close but they were able to get them done and returned before my flights

I will say paying to pee came as a shock to me the first time I went to Poland. Got off in Rzepin to switch trains and they wanted money to use the facilities. I was not as fluent then so it was very interesting. Thankfully they let me pee. I learned you never go anywhere in Poland with out a pocket full of coins. They are necessary for the WC and bus tickets.

I had someone look at it and they said because they were naturalized that it affects my status.
None of my direct line ever service in the military. They emigrated before Poland became a country again.

My name great-grandfather became a citizen after 1920. They said that once he did this he lost his Polish citizenship.

He did it in 1927.

He was born in 1890/91 In Rutkowskie which was part of Russia at the time. He emigrated in 1911. My Grandfather was born in 1915 or so. Neither of them ever served in the military or in office. He was naturalized in 1927.

I lived in Poland before so I totally understand the lack of speed!

I have a friend that is still waiting for this years registration card. He will apply for next year before he gets this year. He has lived in the same place for years and is a professor in ZG. I think they procrastinate just because they can.
