News / How could PiS better spend billions instead of 500+ ? [275]

17 hrs ago ☓#89

Agree Son Of Harry. If the government left the poor destitute, we hear how mean they were. How come some policies are only seen as ''progressive'' when it's a certain party handing them out.

PiS are F Jobs in many ways, but I find it hard to slate them for what a policy which has lifted many out of abject poverty. The problem today with politics is that it's all or nothing, but i believe differently. I can disagree strongly with PiS on their abortion policies whilst also supporting strongly 500+

Food / British food products in Poland? [334]

Is it possible to buy Henderson's relish anywhere in Poland?

Anyone know if it's possible to get Henderson's relish anywhere in Polska? Got addicted to the stuff after spending a couple of years in Sheffield. Was bringing lots of the stuff back from trips pre-pandemic but now my stocks are out. Withdrawal symptoms are monstrous

Food / British food products in Poland? [334]

@jon357
Paperwork is easy, I buy certain products from many small UK suppliers and apart from one duty mess in the first days post brexit there was no problems so far. I do understand though for fresh food like Bacon it can is a bureaucratic post brexit and saw Britishshop.pl already seem to have pulled these.

Btw - on the Hendersons relish, i didn't find any in Poland anywhere. But then a pal who saw a similar post of mine on social media pointed me to allegro. I found one guy who has 7 bottles of the stuff, I took 4 of them :)

Where in S Yorks were you from Jon?

News / Is NORD STREAM dangerous for Poland's natural enviroment? [372]

Nordstream2 demonstrates EU ''Solidarity'' at it's finest. We all stick together to do what's in the ''common'' interest, except if Germany and the rich northern states disagree, then they pull rank. Saw it with the Financial Crisis, the refugee crisis and Nordstream 2

END THIS TERRIBLE UNION

Real Estate / Purchasing apartment in the Polish border region as a foreigner [10]

It seems to be true, as we are going through same thing. Firstly as I understand generally, if you reside in Poland, have permanent residence here, then you definitely do not need a permit. This is backed up by within the brexit agreement (art. 11 and 23) it forbids discrimination of UK citizens. I understand these clauses are very general and there is no precedent yet set, however if your residence in Poland is legal and have ''zaswiadczenie o zameldowaniu na pobyt stały'' then I struggle to see why it's not ok to buy post brexit

however in your case you mention you are in a border region, I am also buying a flat right now in a border region and have same problem. The lawyer from developer and banks lawyer is saying we don't need a permit, but my lawyer says we do. No idea who is right. My lawyer says that whilst under law we need a permit to buy in a border area the brexit agreement could be used to argue that in fact we don't. However as this has never been tested in courts we have no idea if it holds up to be true

Yes I get that, i've bought properties before, however we sought opinion of a lawyer who specialises in foreigners buying property given we were unsure about this permit rule. Plus, I also like to get an opinion before I sign into a deal for large amounts, it's quite sensible. Can I ask your permission to continue?
