Language / Short Polish<->English translations [1033]

thanks Looker, that pretty much what I got from it. Not sure if theres some slang in there i.e. 'boazeri'- not sure what the word is referring to in this context.

Also, when the person is saying 'bo ja tylko do 40 letniej boazeri' is that not 'I'm only 40 years old paneling ' or is it what you wrote above?

Life / If I could introduce something from my country into Poland, I would.... [175]

But i actually do like and somewhat love this country!....In my 1st terrifying week i was invited to various grills....a wedding.....and to a football party...which actually was terrifying once Germany scored their 1st goal!

Its a good job you couldnt understand Polish as the abuse they were giving the English referee that night would have made you feel even more uncomfortable.

Cheery old people i.e. ones who dont scowl at you and demand respect just because they've managed to stay alive for 60 years. Most of them have been retired since they were 40 and are being subsidised by the younger generation's taxes yet they still feel the need to treat people with disdain. Its a shame the icy pavements of Poland havent put a few more of them out of action.

I bet you've never pulled a woman in your life have you? Your attitude is what turns Muslims into suicide bombers- sexual frustration and fear that someone, somewhere is having a good time when you're not.

Your ignorance is a pity Kilkline... to me its a pity. This is why this diesease is rampant! This illness is more in the mind than in the body.

You said HIV was caused by poor hygiene. Can you explain in your usual flowery way how we may fight the scourge of HIV with soap and water?

And those guyz who got bitten by this 'naive' victims!... Well they should've been more hygene then that!

HIV spreads through most immoral, unhygene and abusive means... includes all kinds of pathetic things.

Your ignorance is laughable. You sound like a third world medicine man. Maybe if the victims had slept with a virgin and showered afterwards that would have cured them.

same applys to men, because they are the fertilizer as thus nature intended ... but forgot to put a automatic stop button on the fertilizer so that he wont go around getting females pregnant.. but thats what the cold shower is for now.

Do you sleep around Patrycja? If not why not? Is it just because society tells you not to or because yopu know its not a wise thing for you to do?

if we all had one wish, it would be for nature to let men have babies the way we do

If this was the case then we would need to change our behaviour and morality to reflect this. I cant say thats a day I'm particularly looking forward to though. :)

different rules appear to have something to do with morality not with getting pregnant. It is OK for a men to have a number of partners and being perceived as a stud but if a woman sleeps around she is a w......,

Morality and the consequences of sex are not unrelated, in fact one is a consequence of the other. Human morality is a set of rules and guidelines that spring from what we are as humans, what we need to function as a society. These rules serve a purpose, maybe an updated purpose in some instances, but still.

Women who sleep around will be judged harsher for this than men as it shows shes playing fast and loose with her body in a way a man cant. A man has sex and thats it. A women has sex and the consequences can be much, much more severe.

Wishing this wasnt the case wont make it so.

men should be as concerned about pregnancy as women.

A person should be concerned when their actions have consequences for other people. However when that other person is practically a stranger then your concern for them isnt going to be anything like your concern for yourself. You cant rely on a stranger to not get you pregnant.

I dont want to turn this into a war of the sexes but if these girls were a bit loose, what about the kind of guys that they slept with? I dont think the fact that they slept with him really says anything about their morals or what kind of girls they were and it's unfair to call them on that. What has happened is a terrible for anyone involved who may have HIV.

I'm not saying that they got their just deserts or anything stupid like that. However I suspect that women who sleep with African asylum seekers that they've just met are not exactly paragons of chastity and its probably not unreasonable to deduce from this that he probably wasnt the first or last guy they had a one night stand with. Therefore the true number of infected is greater than if these girls hadnt been shagging around. Same goes for the guys that these girls in turn shagged, and so on.

I may get shot down for this but when it comes to sex it isnt the same rules for men and women. A woman can get pregnant and therefore should have more care with who she sleeps with. If a man could get pregnant I suspect he'd be less inclined to chase anything with tits and a pulse. We can manipulate societies rules but nature has its own.

Good point. Chances are that these girls werent exactly shy with their favours so who knows how many they've passed it onto, and so on.

One AIDS infected phoney asylum seeker = alot of dead Poles.

Feedback / The image of Poland according to PolishForums [90]

What am I suggesting is a thread where people could discuss about Polish Forums itself.

An area for people to discuss an area where people discuss? A bit too post modern maybe.

Life / Poles are not racist [873]

There a are almost parallels with the Muslim communities in Britain in that there is a problem specific to that community which some in that community deny is specific to them, some accept it is specific to them but would rather deal with internally, and those would acknowledge publicly that here is a problem but seem to often get shouted down for negatively publicising their community. The last group are few and far between it seems.

Life / Poles are not racist [873]

I look around and see this image as a part of popular culture for black people. It was black people that generated it and black people that maintain it. If you've seen the pictures of the teenage knife and gun victims from the last year or two you'll see the product of this culture.

It isnt a culture that most black adults follow and I think they actually despise it. They must get tired of seeing their children on the news as either victims or perpertrators of murders but at the same time they cant really voice their opinions as self criticism isnt their strong point.

I seem to have met all of them then. The Polish people I've met who claim not to be racist will always say "I'm not racist but..." followed by a comment about black people. To be fair though most ethnic groups seem to have a fairly negative opinion of black people in London.

Life / What is the reason for POLISH jokes ? [486]

Neither the Nazis nor the Commies developed the "Polish jokes"!

Well the Nazis were German which negated any joke making abilities.

News / What is wrong with Poland that Poles emigrate? [167]

So "should I stay or should I go?"

You should go. If only to experience the land whose language and culture you know so much about. I've met Polish people in Poland who speak excellent English like you but have never been to England. I think thats a bit sad/strange and maybe a bit of a waste.

As for the sort of job you can expect to get, that will depend on where in England you will be moving to. London has the best opportunities both for carer options and money. The place isnt to everyone's taste though.

Not by Brits? Didn't they, single-handedly, knock Germany out with only some symbolic help from the US, France, Poland, Canada and about half of the world?.

Finally you admit it! One down, 39 million more to go.
