Law / Probate laws in Poland - banking data access and money transfer [6]

The person handling the estate has to distribute the assets according to the law, and recipients are responsible for paying tax on the inheritance.

Your advise has been heeded to. We will follow the due procedure.

We were trying to avoid the 32% taxation. Thanks for the reply.

@cms
We could have done it days before he passed on but sometimes it's hard to give up on a loved one when he or she says he is not going to make it. We have been hopeful that he will pull through. He started recovery and then all of a sudden he has to go.

Law / Probate laws in Poland - banking data access and money transfer [6]

I've got a rather bizarre question. If a relative gives you his banking details whiles in his sick bed and then dies days later. Would it be legal to transfer the money in his account to ones personal account? In other countries there is a specified amount you can move or withdraw without a probate but it's rather difficult to get this information in Poland. Our fears are that the tax authorities will rip it off before it gets to the family.

Law / Zamaldowanie (registration of residence) not unless the owner come with me to the urząd (registry office) [7]

I got this sorted. My landlord nearly shook the whole building down :-))). He brought the documents that shows that he owns the flat and all the lady did was to peep on the name of the document and then tell him he could go. He waited outside until the lady had finished then he came back and poured out his anger.

It turned out the lady was partially right. Her superiors explained that if the officer is not satisfied with the rent contract or if someone is still registered in that address then officer has the right to demand for the prove of ownership of the property (not asking the owner to come to the office). She didn't even bat an eye on the rent contract anyway. All she needed was a copy of prove of ownership of the property.

I guess she brought her family squabbles over to work.

Law / Zamaldowanie (registration of residence) not unless the owner come with me to the urząd (registry office) [7]

I went to an urząd to obtain a new zamaldowanie due to a recent change of address. To the surprise of everyone present I was told that it is not possible to get registered in that address without the owner of the flat.

If the lady had read the rent contract then I could say there's an issue with the ownership of the flat but she didn't. ....

I called my landlord then he sent me a url which clearly states that all you need is a rent contract and his signature on the small sheet of paper provided by the urząd.

I still could not believe that this is happening after I have periviously obtained 2 different zamaldowania in the last 2 years.

Life / Can a secular muslim live in Poland? [24]

The truth be told, your girlfriend not eating pork nor drinks alcohol does not make her a Muslim. She is just a sympathizer, not a Muslim. Being a Muslim is largely on believing that there is only one God(and his prophets) and the Salat(which should be put into practice). Without these two you're not a Muslim.

About being a Muslim in Poland, I would say there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm a Muslim and never have I ever had any issues with Poles. If you respect their values they will respect yours.

Love / Are Polish men handsome to you? [182]

Well, i'm starting to think that men developing protruding bellies after 38 years old(35?) is considered trendy here in Poland.

Life / Which is the best mobile network in Poland? [29]

from Play or Plus

I'd suggest he or she go for Play, considering the fact that calls to other Play subscribers are almost free of charge. I used Play for a year then switched to Plus because I thought their internet plans were much better than that of Play but now I'm regretting it. I intend to go to one of their outlet to port my number back to Play. I miss their services.

Love / Polish - Pakistani relationship. How it works in reality? Are Pakistanis a good men? [70]

Since i live in a city with 350 thousand indians and 250 thousand pakistanis (pretty much 45% of the population), in my case i can say that this kind of relationship WILL MOSTLY NOT WORK.

It's so pathetic that you still don't know, at your age, that marriage or relationships depends solely on the individuals and not the race, religion or political affiliation of the persons involved.

Are you saying that Poles who're married to Poles do not divorce or separate? Did you ever ask any Polish girl the number of relationships they've been through? The numbers most of them 'll give may sweep you away.

Classifieds / Any concrete offers for IT jobs in Lublin, Poland? [14]

did you miss my comment

No i didn't.......... I suppose job hunt in UK is not that different from Poland.

I understand that you were a recruiter which I must say was easier those days than now. They were honest CV's even 15 years ago but now they are very rare.

Demonstrating his knowledge of C/C++ and Java is the key here.

Trust me, most of the "I know this, I know that" are now used to decorate CVs these days. They don't really represent the skill set of the job seeker.

Law / PESEL for EU citizen working for a EU company (not Polish) in Poland [42]

I live in Wroclaw and I'm trying to understand the right procedure to get the PESEL.

I got mine after registering my place of residence few years ago. I remember never requesting or applying for it but just a week ago my employer told my Ukrainian colleague that she can only get NIP and not PESEL. According to our employer, the law has been changed quite recently. If you live in Wroclaw then you can go to the Urząd for clarifications.

I know few programming languages (MySql/PhP, C/C++, Python, Java)

Unfortunately recruiters here do not trust "I know........". If you have relevant experience in those languages then it shouldn't be a problem finding a job in Poland, not sure about Lublin though. Better still, if you have a portfolio of programs of your own or work you have done for others you can send it as an additional file to the jobs you apply for. In that way you'll snapped up within the shortest possible time.

Life / Going to Poland in a hijab - Polish people and Islam [154]

Yes please that will be a great help for me.

Salaam bro, according to the information i gathered in the mosque today, people will only stare at your wife in summer(because they think is too hot for her to cover herself up) but no one will even notice during the cold periods. Some of the men claim to have had some run-ins but none was serious. I will send you a private message.......

Jesus fulfilled the law in the sense that He gave it full meaning.

But it is funny to see moslems disagreeing with that like Wroclaw1010.

In what sense was it fulfilled? I don't want opinions. Give me biblical proves.

The old testament are the laws for Jews.

This just shows how ignorant you are of your own religion. You should be ashamed of it.
Matthew 5:17-18 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled."

What kind of Christianity do you practice?

They might be illegal( which i highly doubt) because the laws of that particular country says so. Article 53 of the Polish constitution clearly states that everyone has the right to practice any religion of their choice. My point is that if the Hijab is a religious practice of someone, why should she be deprived of that right?

they are Muslims and they represent Islam in the media.

Yes, in the media but not in the real world.

One such act could be your wife not wearing a hijab in Europe

Wearing hijab in Poland or even europe has no correlation with terrorism.

my wife wears a hijab out of respect to the culture in Muslim countries.

I attend ceremonies of my friends in churches here in Poland.

@Levi: Cheap propaganda is patronized by people whose judgement has been clouded by their emotions. Yes, assaults might have occurred but trust me, the entire news about it has been exaggerated. Even before the incident, you were here saying all sought of things about muslims in Poland, do you remember?

Life / Going to Poland in a hijab - Polish people and Islam [154]

Why?

The migrant crisis has brought a cold war against Muslims, especially in Poland.

A very good article, and one which should be read by every muslim woman

The article is but not good enough to declare a ruling on dress code for women. The author has based his analysis on the Quran alone. It almost impossible to understand the Quran without taking into consideration the sunnah of the prophet. Before our holy prophet(S.A.W) passed on, he commanded us to consult both the Quran and his sunnah(which can be found in the hadith books) in case of uncertainty. I will understand you if you think the article is flawless because you don't know Islam.

I spent several years living in Turkey, and had many friends and colleagues whose devout wives were uncovered.

Turkey is not that islamic like you think. I have very close Turkish friends and I have lived with a lot of them too. Apart from the few I meet in the mosque, and one other guy I met during an Erasmus program, I have never seen or met any Turkish who is a practicing muslim. I interact with them on daily basis. If there was an accurate statistics, it'll tell you that close to 50% Turkish are not practicing muslims.

@WaleedAly: Salam brother, I don't think you'll face any difficulties here, especially in Wroclaw. I have seen a lot of women in Hijab at the Masjid but I can't tell if they wear it around town. Two years ago the story was different. There was a Polish girl who was always in Hijab. I saw her several times in Hijab around Rynek during that time but now I doubt if she still wears it outside the Masjid or her home. If you like I can ask the women in the Masjid on Friday(if Allah wills) about their experiences with the Hijab in town.

Work / About Work permit for Student Visa in Poland [28]

Who in the world told them that there "are" jobs in Poland for ... Nepalese or Indian "students"?

The official website promoting higher education in Poland says so. Such a misleading information just to attract foreign students :-(
studyinpoland /en/index.php/about-poland/7-living-in-poland

There's a reason why fees are very low.

I don't think it's cheap here. Places like Germany, Austria, Belgium(public universities of course) are a lot cheaper in terms of fees than Poland. The reason why people (especially non-europeans) are interested in Poland is due to the lesser competition in securing a place in a university. Moreover, the entry requirements here are quite flexible. In countries like Germany, France, Austria the competition is fierce so you have to satisfy every little bit of the entry requirement before your application file will be attended to.

HAVE NO PART TIME JOBS FOR STUDENTS that doesn't speak polish

Have you studied in Poland? How many foreign students do you know here? We all know it's not easy to find part-time jobs, but if you have a special skill or being fluent in English and another European language then you likely to find a job without knowing Polish. I studied here so knew students who were working here(Wroclaw) without knowing Polish.

Work / Teaching English lessons with a native speaker in Poland [10]

Is it really advisable to teach rank beginners the target language without at least rudimentary fluency in the source language of the target learner(s)??

Yes, and it's highly recommended. In Polytechnic University of Wroclaw to be specific, a group(Polish for Beginners) usually comprises of people from different nationalities, but at the end of the day the teachers manage to pull all of them through to the A2 or B1 level without understand a word in their respective languages. Moreover, the textbooks provided in the school are all in Polish. In short, everything boils down to the competence of the teacher and not the source language.

Sometimes luck is a factor in finding a job too.

I couldn't agree more....

News / Referendum in Poland about so called refugees. [56]

No need for a referundum

Exactly! Every Tom, Dick and Harry know what the outcome will be, so why waste time and resources on something of that nature?

Poland shouldn't accept the amount of asylum seekers Germany is forcing on us though.

Might is right ;) Poland should strike the flag and take inn a reasonable number else the external pressure will not stop. However, taking the exact number Germany has proposed will make Poland look like shot takers from the Germans.
