wasn't given

Has she claimed that the Death Certificate doesn't give an exact cause of death? As far as I can see she hasn't said that at all.

And I'm telling you yet another time

Paulina, you really should drop this.

Sometimes healing (you can call it faith healing, spiritual healing and a few other things) can bring genuine relief from pain etc.

I didn't start this, jon357 did and you continue

Yes you did "start" this.

You "start" ridiculous arguments with periodical regularity.

And the bizarre thing is that it's on the basis of one online article.

Negligence by the police is a possibility, but it would also require negligence by the doctor performing the post mortem and then by the Coroner. Such a combination is fairly unlikely

I said the same and outlined the way each stage can be challenged.

and the detective

A "private detective" who doubtless is making good money and can say what they like without consequences.

You should drop this. It is undignified l.
If there is any mystery, which there almost certainly isn't, there are correct channels to enquire. Clutching at straws, like suggesting her flatmates Lukasz and Alexander are the sons of important British people or suggesting that a Death Certificate doesn't contain a detailed cause of death are ridiculous.

It makes you look unpleasant and foolish.

Do you mean Timberland? I bought some which looked good but the quality is poor.

fresh cookies aren't really much of a thing in Poland

Biscuits? There doesn't seem much of a tradition of them. Even Delicje are a rip off of overseas products.

Putin's agent

Don't be silly.

Interesting that a figure linked to the PiS regime would defect to Belarus.

He must like authoritarianism.

no other arguments

This isn't an "argument". It is a tragic death, almost certainly of natural causes.

You don't address any of the points.

The "points" that Paulina was ranting about have all been addressed. However she knows zero about the context and is basing her meltdown on one online article.

She doesn't mention the Coroner's verdict since she doesn't even know. For some reason the article doesn't mention it or ask about it, presumably because the journalist who wrote it doesn't know how the system works.

besides your own belief

It seems that article is written solely on the basis of the "belief" of a grieving mother and a "private detective" without reference to actual facts.

Paulina should be ashamed of herself.

What do you mean by 'linked

Linked.

Read the article. He was an activist going after other judges who didn't support them.

It looks like there is more to this story. I wonder what prompted his defection.

All unexceptional and available in pretty well every country.

I used to buy Maltanki sometimes. They were pleasant enough albeit austere.

No, I didn't start any argument

Yes you did.

You do it with periodic regularity and consistently refuse to admit you are wrong.

and you have no right to tell me what to do.

You should be ashamed of yourself for posting trash about a tragic death from natural causes. What was the Coroner's verdict?

You should calm down and try to stop digging yourself into a hole over someone's tragic death.

What was the Coroner's verdict, or to use the correct term, their Finding of Fact, sometimes referred to in law as a Determination.

coroner's "verdict" is that Sandra's "heart stopped beating

That isn't a Coroner's verdict. There are three possibilities: accident/misadventure, unlawful killing and natural causes.

Why are you lying?

Why do you think I'm lying?

yeah the first Tusk's ABW major failure)

Perhaps they had reason not to, and as you say, he was investigated before the election.

Interesting what he'd be able to spy about and also how many other people in the public sector, whether linked to the PiS regime or not) are r*SSian assets.

Maybe he thinks I'm attacking his "home & country

Don't be silly. My "home & country" has been Poland for several decades.

The important thing here is facts. Not hearsay or emotion.

So what was the Coroner's verdict?
jon357

that report

The verdict isn't a "report". It's the finding of a court hearing at which the next-of-kin is present.

And of course there's no serious suggestion of a "screw up".

I'd forgotten about suicide and open verdicts. Not that your online article mentions the verdict at all.

In this case however there doesn't appear to be any grounds for suspicion. Presumably the dead woman's mother will appeal it however the findings will be in the basis of fact which may not satisfy her.

Nevertheless, you would admit that after Albert

It's nothing to do with him or his wife.

The concept of RP emerged later and is more to do with speech patterns in the area north of London. There wasn't any sort of German-inspired vowel shift during the nineteenth century.

Dirk Boegard

Sir Dirk Bogarde? Like the others on the list, his accent was consistent with having attended a boys' public school before the war.

Lovely song.

Here's one of the classics. As I remember he became a priest, put a lot of weight on and died early however this video's from when he was at the top of his game.

accent being tied to type of school...... weird, so weird

Or maybe entirely natural.

Public schools had boarders who could come from any and every part of the country and from abroad, hence the accent having fewer regional traces. If it was just a "town" private school where the kid lived at home, you would expect to hear more of a regional sound among the alumni.

However what Paulina said here and that article hasn't instalent much trust in what they claim either.

Basically straw clutching and particularly aggressive hysteria.

And in the middle of it all is a grieving mother unable to accept the official findings about her daughter's death.

Keep trying to argue pointlessly as you do every so often (and not particularly well).

It makes no difference to the situation which we should not forget is the sad death of a woman.

Paulina, arguments do sometimes happen on PF. Perhaps yes, it's better to leave that sort of stuff to the American trolls.

As for "calling a truce", that isn't a phrase I'd use since it implies battles, and life is too short to have online battles with people we don't know, especially about topics which are at best sensitive.

Having said that though, your last paragraph is essentially very practical and decent. It's sometimes (even usually) better to stick to positive things rather than matters that we can't influence. Basically things like that when discussed by third parties tend to generate far more heat than light. And yes, as you say, we've said all that we're going to. I'd also add that we agree better than we disagree.

So yes, let's stick to positive things like the invasion of Ukraine, devastating climate change, the rise of fascism in Europe, hyperinflation, Chinese espionage, the threat from AI, and Donald Trump ;-)

drug use, ties to dodgy suspicious people, sex work, random hook ups

Maf, as far as I know, none of those things are suspected.

There's something I've been holding back from saying and will continue to do so. All I'll say is that it isn't about what has been said, it's about what hasn't been said. Something that might make it harder for a parent to accept their child's death.

A reason why the police might consider that there weren't any suspicious circumstances and why the mother's comments in the Polsat article and elsewhere don't mention the Coroner's verdict.

Which makes it especially sad and even less appropriate to rake over details.

I'm certainly not saying that's a strong possibility, however it's certainly a tragic one.

By the way, what do you think about the Reform Party?

Unpleasant grifters hoping to extract cash donations from bitter, unintelligent and underachieving suburban boomers.

the bible has many facts

And much more mythology, and of course the NT was written many years after the events it describes/invents and written by believers writing with a purpose.

Nevertheless, healing of different forms done by people with any religion or none does seem to be a real phenomena.

it's the religion of wise people from the beginning of time

There are lots of religions in the world and they pretty well all say much the same sort of things. The religion someone follows is generally the one around them.

in fact they were targeted, killed and burnt for

So were witches.

And healing is generally present in most belief systems.

Food / Polish cakes made in Poland [72]

Ours are oblong in shape and they're used for making certain kinds of cakes or desserts like trifle

I think they're sometimes called boudoir biscuits. For trifles or for people so infirm and toothless that they can't manage wafers.

herbatniki

Sort of 'civil service' biscuits. When I worked at the Legal Aid Board back in pre-computer days when there was still a tea lady who called at each floor in turn twice a day there were always that sort of biscuits. Hobnobs eventually took over in offices.

Lincoln Creams in the UK?

I've never seen them. There were also Gypsy Creams which people mention but I'm not sure what they are.

A biscuit I don't like is Goosnargh Cakes, a Lancashire thing. Very plain with caraway seeds in.
