Law / Wish to start an Indian Store in Poland [34]

I'm with Unknown_that_poo, I would absolutely love to be able to buy naans, and other ingredients. I know you can buy naans in m&s but don't fancy the journey from Gdansk to Gdynia just for those. For me Indian is one of the top cuisines in the world :)

Food / Cider now available in Trojmiasto [14]

You can also buy Merrydown cider in Gdansk in Republika, along the motlawa in the old town. The same guy supplies all of the pubs / bars in trojmiasto, he's got a contract with them.

its about 12zl a can.

Australia / Mail problem- Poland to Australia, delivery time frame [40]

Post within Poland is an absolute joke! my mother sent a recorded delivery package from England to Poland, it arrived in Poland the next day, I then had to wait 3 and a half weeks for it to get to me. Other packages have still not arrived, after 2 years. Go figure. I also did a little test, I sent two letters, one standard class and one priority class from Gdansk to Torun, the priority letter arrived a week later than the standard class one.

USA, Canada / Can you BE Polish without SPEAKING Polish in the US? [256]

let me rephrase my previous question - can I be Polish if I speak Kashubian?

As Kaszubi is in Poland and not an independent country I think you've answered your own question ;)

News / Poland fines singer for bashing Bible [159]

yeah they twist and change religion to suit themselves. If there was such a person as Jesus and he was actually the son of God I'd love to know how different the actual events and RULES were/are. Religious people annoy me, no, people who preach annoy me. THEY OFFEND ME lol

News / Poland fines singer for bashing Bible [159]

Well I assume it would be insulting to Catholics callings Jesus a homosexual, that was my point, not calling someone a homo but calling Jesus one.

News / Poland fines singer for bashing Bible [159]

One of my students told me that here in Poland you can get an on the spot fine for causing offence :- calling someone fat/ugly/ calling Jesus a raving homosexual in the street........ any truth to this?

(Just a quick edit there before the lovable grammar police go in for the kill, and when I say lovable I mean I'd absolutely love to volley them in the plumbs) >:o

My wife is of the mind that you can not. She has been in the U.S. for two years, and has met a kajillion people with names ending in "-ski" whom delight in telling her, that they to, are Polish. She thinks Polish-American is just American.

I 100% agree with her, that annoys the **** out of me and I'm not even Polish!

I'm offended that she didn't actually physically BASH the bible.
In England when you call someone a bible basher it means they are very religious. The irony lol

UK, Ireland / Why are Polish people, especially women, so disrespectful toward the English? [437]

Can't say that in the 5 years I've been here any woman has been disrespectful to me in anyway . Apart from the wife/mother-in-law/zus women/woman in biedronka/

I've only had a few isolated incidents with Polish guys shouting "KUR*A ANGLI" as they walk past because they can hear me speaking English.

Food / Can I buy Christmas crackers in Gdansk? [15]

Nope, I went to M&S Gdynia for the same reasons, to find some crackers and other British traditional Christmas bits but with no joy :(

I've been trying to find Swede/Turnip/Brukiew everywhere, again with no joy :( One the plus side Christmas will continue without those things :)
