Hi,

Does anyone know how long it takes to send a package from Krakow, poland to Australia. Three weeks ago I sent a laptop back home to Australia and it has not arrived yet. I sent it registered but the reciept with tracking number were lost when I was in Budapest (i am a backpacker).

I am pretty worried. Does it normally take this long to send? Will it arrive soon?

thanks

Was it by ship or plane?? by plane it takes about 7 to 10 days, by ship between 2 and 3 months... normally nothing to worry about... . The polish Post system has greatly improved over the years.... If it was registered etc it will come.. good luck

My condo fees (the bill) was sent to me from Gdynia , Poland to Naples , Florida December 12th and we just received them February 25th. 2 1/2 months lost in the Polish mail system.

Bob, from Naples

Also on another note the pictures of my grandchild we sent to Great Grandpa still have not arrived in Gdynia and we sent them on December 15th.

Post within Poland is an absolute joke! my mother sent a recorded delivery package from England to Poland, it arrived in Poland the next day, I then had to wait 3 and a half weeks for it to get to me. Other packages have still not arrived, after 2 years. Go figure. I also did a little test, I sent two letters, one standard class and one priority class from Gdansk to Torun, the priority letter arrived a week later than the standard class one.

Post within Poland is an absolute joke!

Actually its quite good, cheap and fast. Of course its my anecdotal evidence vs. yours, but I've shipping sent and recieved hundrds of packages and letters through PP and not once was I disappointed. the only minus are the long wait lines at the local post office and rather bizare pricing scheme.

I've always found it OK, though I've noticed that international mail (to and from the UK) is always far quicker from rather than to Poland.

Totally agree, all parcels and letters from Poland always arrived in one piece and on time. I can only recommend Polish Post.

Merged: Letter from Australia to Poland - delivery time frame?

Hi

I want to send a letter to Katowice, Poland from Australia (not a package, a letter). Im getting many reports on the time frame it will take to arrive in Poland - how long will it take? It's important to know for me as I want to time the sending of the letter accordingly.

If anyone can give me assistance that would be good!

I saw that packages can take a long time, but this is just a standard envelope letter.

Thank you :)

Here in Canada it takes about a week. Except for easter and Christmas it is recommended to send at least 1 month before. From Australia, I would assume it to take 2 weeks. But that figure could be wrong. Have you asked at the local post office about this? But your best bet would be to assume 2-3 weeks. This way, you will know that it will arrive in time. Part of it could be in the way the mail could be routed and that is what I can understand where your confusion comes in. Since there are 2 ways that the mail could be routed. One route would be through North America to Europe or through the mid east to Europe. Sorry this answer is not what you wanted or expected.

Hi oapw43, maybe my post is bit late, but all the letters and postcards (about 10) I sent from Australia arrived in Poland after 4-7 working days (depends on location in Poland).

How did everyone go? I'm still waiting for a box I sent July 29th via ship was told 2 months and well over that. I'm quite worried. Lost my paperwork on my travels. Really hoping it arrives soon.

Krystle, I sent a package on the 13th of June this year going with the cheapest postal option (ship), arrived in Perth, WA last week. Sent another package in July priority post (air) and it arrived 2 weeks later in Adelaide. If it went by ship allow 3 months at least.

Hi! I send a letter to my family in Perth, Australia on 15th Dec 2014 but they still didn't received it till now. It was priority but not registered thou. Do you think it got lost or just delayed?

Probably just delayed due to the Christmas backlog, when I've sent mail by priority to Perth it normally takes around 3 weeks to get there, economy can take up to and sometimes longer than 3 months, but I suggest always registering your letter in the future as it doesn't cost that much more.

I've lost count of the number of things that have gone missing between Poland and the UK, ranging from standard envelopes to the kids Christmas presents from Grandma.

Very recently I bought a watch on ebay(uk) for me to refurbish as a project. Sent via Royal Mail, fulfilled by GLS. Envelope turned up having been opened at some point, no watch inside. It had been weighed on arrival to Poland (218gr)...

Having said that, allow much longer than usual when sending things over Christmas. Poczta Polska really suffers during the festive season.

My loss rate is one in 3 parcels from ebay uk. I've stopped now and only use couriers or buy from allegro. Note that everyone I've bought from in allegro uses a personal courier service; no one trusts the regular postal service.

I never had problems with Poczta Polska. I received parcels, money in envelopes and never had any of these gone missing. One time even I ordered a camera and it was packed badly and the package ripped a bit on the sharp corner of the box-the package was secured with tape and there was a note stating what happened, who secured it and at which post office. Other time I send a present, chose too small envelope and it started to open but got to UK in one piece.

Perhaps you're an exception to the rule if you're receiving money in envelopes sent to Poland from abroad and actually receiving it.

Royal Mail deliver things in the UK.. They aren't especially interested in stealing things sent from Poland.

I've been mostly lucky with only a few serious delays however a bank card sent to me was unfortunately stolen by Poczta Polska staff recently.

I had 3 bank cards go missing/never arrive from Lloyds in the last 6 months.... finally one got through last week. I would put money on it being Poczta Polska's fault.

I prefer buying from allegro for the same reason stated above; there's usually an options to use a courier. But in the interest of fairness, domestic post in Poland has improved in the last few years. I particularly like the automated drop-off and collection service they're installing.

We have been dealing with Poland for the last couple of years including sending and receiving registered and priority items by post. We have found the mail system to be rather backward and slow. We are currently waiting for an item air mailed over 4 weeks ago from Krakow to Perth, Australia.

It's normal with international mail. If you want to get something delivered fast, use courier service, not the mail. I sent once a registered letter from Poland to Germany, and it was travelling really for a few weeks before it reached the target. From Poland to Germany - through a single border within the EU! And, looking at the tracking service, the longest waiting was in Germany at the Frankfurt Main airport.

I've recently had a little experience of buying something from Poland to send to a friend in Australia for Christmas I bought and made the order in the beginning of November 2016 and was told it'd take the shortest 10 business days and the longest to 20 business days to reach it's destination in Australia. They gave me a tracking number as well to watch it and for the whole month of November and part of December my item tracking number would read that it's non exsistant and to try later. Contacted repeatedly and the business and they relayed to me that it was going through customs.

By Jan 10th 2017 the tracking number actually showed up as an item and was going through different customs in Poland and then by the 28th of January my item says it left Poland and was in transit for Australia. After this my item couldn't be found or tracked if it got to Australia or not not even through the Australian post and my item was gone until I got an email from my friend who let me know that she just got it and that it arrived safely. And that was 2 days ago.

Not wanting to buy anything from Poland and have it mailed again from my experience.

I bought a small steering wheel for Sim Racing for my Nephew from an online company based in poland who much to my dismay sent it the cheapest and slowest way ever (nearly 2 months). The Polish freight company is "Royal Shipments" and I am trying to track down where the parcel has gone.

It arrived in Oz a few days ago and has been marked as delivered, I have repeatedly tried contacting "Royal Shipments" and they will not return my emails.

The report on the "Royal Shipments" tracking website, says;

"Delivered- missing POD(untracked service)the consignment has not been returned which means that most likely this shipment has been delivered."

This is not good enough if the signatory can't be found then attempts need to be made to find a contact. If you are not the company that I seek can you give me a list of companies that do. I am partly to blame as I used a parcel locker as my address which is really an Australia Post service which most of the major players seem to be able to deliver to, DHL, Fedex etc.

According to the Ebay information the original postage service to be used is "Deutsche Post Brief".

Can anyone help?
