Life / Ghost Bikes in Poland [11]

Very interesting indeed. In California people sometimes leave a cross, flowers and lighted candles, on the spot where someone has died. Not only for victims who've died from accidents, but also victims of violent crimes, such as gun shots.

Love / How to please Polish women? [216]

I was wondering why he was your ex-boyfriend? - didn't make sense at first

The ex-bf purchased a home in Nevada. I wouldn't particularly care to live in Las Vegas. Weather is much too hot, lack of employment, etc.

Love / What to Get my Polish Guy for Valentines Day. [77]

A romantic, delicious home-cooked Polish meal, will probably make him burst out in passion (or make him fall asleep, lol!) Stuff him with plenty of carbs. He'll need an adequate supply of energy for dessert!

:)

Food / Polish culinary dislikes [83]

Lamb poles hate Lamb.

I tasted lamb once & nearly gagged. The smell & taste were disgusting enough, to keep me away from the nasty meat for life.

UK, Ireland / Polish woman in the UK gives birth then leaves the baby in hospital [28]

Why would somebody PAY a hospital? They are free

Hospitalizations are not free in the U.S.

Raising the child may also cause an enormous financial burden for the mother. Expenses may include, baby food and formula, diapers, clothing, child care expenses, etc.

and... should she pay her own way or not?

Probably a good idea for her date to notify her in advance, if the date's going to be Dutch (pardon the expression.) Otherwise, it may be a guy's first and last date with her.

UK, Ireland / Recently beaten up in England by 3 Polish guys [93]

even after they broke my leg they still beat my head on the ground and battered me.

I'm sorry to hear about that Napster. It's unbelievable how vicious some people can be.
I wish you a speedy recovery.

Love / What do foreign women think of Polish men? [120]

The ones I met were extremely nice and sweet, and were all good looking!

Hopefully, I have the same experience, when I go to Poland next summer.

Life / Why so many Poles use a second hands clothes? [110]

especially now days when people are experiencing economic hardships.

During these difficult financial times, many second-hand businesses are now thriving. Most of their items are basically afforable.

You'd be surprised how many rich people use them, discreetly of course.

Hollywood, CA Melrose has several vintage (aka second-hand) stores. Many great items can be found.

I'm shopping at Goodwill sometimes too

Good Will gets many new, unused items too. Stores like Macy's and Ross donate their overstock items to thrift stores. A lot of the clothing they donate are name brands.

Food / Do you still pressure-cooker to cook? [10]

Does anybody on PF still use or has used a pressure-cooker?

My mom used to use a pressure-cooker to soften meats, such as cow tripe and pork ribs. That way she'd only stink up the kitchen, for half the regular cooking time. Haha.

I've never tried cooking with one. I'm too afraid of the enormous pot bursting open, exploding hot food contents, all over my stove and kitchen.
